Michael Bay has shared a new behind the scenes image from Transformers: The Last Knight, and while it doesn't exactly reveal any new plot details, we do at least know that this next instalment of the divisive franchise will feature explosions aplenty (though did you really expect anything else?). It's unclear whether or not the movie will have any sort of presence at Comic-Con, but it's possible.

Set to be released on June 23rd next year, the movie will feature the return of Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager as well as new roles for Isabela Moner and Jerrod Carmichael. Production on Transformers: The Last Knight is set to begin on June 6th, and will then move to currently unrevealed locations around the world as a new adventure begins. With Bay back in the director’s chair, the screenplay for the movie was written by Iron Man's Art Marcum and Matt Holloway along with Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down).

Love them or hate them, the Transformers movies have been a resounding success, earning over $3.7 billion at the worldwide box office over the course of four movies. The Last Knight is the first instalment of the franchise released since a writers room was put together to pencil out the future of this series, so it will be interesting to see how it sets up any spinoffs!
