Well, we probably shouldn't expect to see Talos show up in the Fantastic Four reboot! During a new video interview, Secret Invasion star Ben Mendelsohn shared his candid thoughts on Marvel's First Family.

Ben Mendelsohn has spoken about his love for comic books in the past, and during a new video interview with The Wrap, the Secret Invasion star revealed that one of his favorite characters is none other than Doctor Doom.

The Aussie actor explained in passionate detail why he feels Doom is such a great villain... and why he believes the character is the best thing to come out of the Fantastic Four comics!

No, Mendelsohn is not a big fan of Marvel's First Family. In fact, he thinks they "suck."

Honestly, we can see quite a few people sharing Mendelsohn's take. Reed Richards, Ben Grimm, Sue and Johnny Storm certainly have their share of devoted fans, but there does also tend to be a perception that they're a little on the dull side. Hopefully, Marvel Studios' upcoming reboot can inject some new life into the property.

Check out the video clip in the player below.

"In Marvel Studios’ new series Secret Invasion, set in the present day MCU, Nick Fury learns of a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls. Fury joins his allies, including Everett Ross, Maria Hill and the Skrull Talos, who has made a life for himself on Earth. Together they race against time to thwart an imminent Skrull invasion and save humanity."

The series stars Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, Martin Freeman, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Charlayne Woodard, Killian Scott, Samuel Adewunmi, Dermot Mulroney, Christopher McDonald, Katie Finneran, with Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, and Don Cheadle.

Ali Selim directs and executive-produces, along with fellow executive producers Kevin Feige, Jonathan Schwartz, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Samuel L. Jackson, Ali Selim, Kyle Bradstreet and Brian Tucker. Kyle Bradstreet is also the head writer, and Jennifer L. Booth, Allana Williams and Brant Englestein serve as co-executive producers.

@marvel72 - I'd add Green Goblin and Bullseye to that list. The first one literally ended the Silver Age of Comics.

@MyCoolYoung - Yup so many great Marvel Villains.

@soberchimera - Yeah both of them deserve a place, what about Loki and Doctor Octopus.

@marvel72 - Yes to both, and Mandarin and Leader too since one of Iron Man's and Hulk's archenemies should be represented.

In all seriousness tho, this is something Doctor Doom would say

Other than human torch, I always found f4 kind of corny. But I accepted them because other marvel fans loved their unit as a family, and the many stories around them.

Besides perhaps the mcu can make the cool by the writing and characterization, such as how they did with captain america

@Vigor - That's what I'm hoping for. Damn, they managed to get Caps right, and that's no easy feat nowadays.

Who knows.

@Vigor - I feel they are supposed to be though to a certain degree, a family of heroes that favors science exploration with a more wholesome vibe as a unit. Like The Incredibiles with a pinch of MCU GOTG (not quite as many jokes but the same heart). "Marvel's first family" after all.

They were one of my favorite team books growing up, but can understand them being too corny to others. Sometimes corny can be nice. Hope they get them right because it is basically the one thing MCU I'm truly excited to see coming up, besides Doom of course.

Appropriate attitude to have. Skrulls are no fans of the FF either.

I chuckled at this cos I feel exactly the same way. Granted, I haven't read a lot of modern FF stuff so maybe they have improved (I also believe a great writer can make any character worth reading), but in general, not a fan.

@MarkCassidy - I appreciate that the series introduced some of the best marvel characters ever but they've always been milquetoast to me (except for the Spider-Man, Grey Hulk, Wolverine and Ghost Rider iteration)

@MarkCassidy - Jonathan Hickman's run is excellent,I could put that down once I started reading it.

Probably best since John Byrne was on the title.

Deserves any F4 fan's attention, I think. Especially with Wieringo's art.

To this day, the only FF comics I ever bought, though mostly because I'd buy anything from Arthur Adams.
