WONDER WOMAN 2 Will Be The First Movie To Officially Adopt PGA's New Anti-Sexual Harassment Policies
In the wake of allegations of sexual misconduct being leveled at a multitude of high profile Hollywood figures, Wonder Woman 2 will be the first film to adopt the PGA's new guidelines on sexual harassment.
The recent wave of sexual misconduct allegations that have been leveled at a host of high-profile Hollywood stars, directors and producers has prompted The PGA to implement new guidelines on sexual harassment, and Patty Jenkins' currently in-development Wonder Woman sequel will be the first feature to adopt them.
The new guidelines were announced at the Producers Guild Awards on Saturday, and are designed to clearly lay out definitions for sexual harassment and protocols in the hope that more victims and witnesses willcome forward to report incidents.
“Sexual harassment can no longer be tolerated in our industry or within the ranks of the Producers Guild membership. As producers, we provide key leadership in creating and sustaining work environments built on mutual respect, so it is our obligation to change our culture and eradicate this abuse.
While the PGA is a voluntary membership organization, the PGA’s Anti-Sexual Harassment Guidelines are sanctioned as best practices for our members. The PGA is indebted to Time’s Up as a resource in creating our protocols. We will continue to work with them, the industry-wide Commission led by Anita Hill, and other organizations in our community until sexual harassment is eliminated from the entertainment workplace.”
