With its May 28 return date a little under a month away, Netflix has finally released the official trailer for Lucifer Season 5B.

The teaser features plenty of new footage as the Devil (Tom Ellis) comes to terms with his father's (Dennis Haysbert) surprise appearance on Earth and a huge announcement that will undoubtedly have humongous ramifications for the rest of season five as well as the upcoming sixth and final season.

The synopsis reads, "In the second half of Season 5, God (Dennis Haysbert) himself arrives on Earth. Secrets are revealed, and heroic sacrifices are made, which will change the world forever."

Following these next eight episodes, the series will also return at an undetermined date for its ten-episode sixth and final season, which wrapped at the start of this month. While an early 2022 return seems likely, there is a strong possibility the last batch of episodes could arrive on the streamer before the end of this calendar year.

Along with series lead Tom Ellis (Lucifer Morningstar), the principal cast also features Lauren German (Det. Chloe Decker), Kevin Alejandro (Det. Dan Espinoza), D.B. Woodside (Amenadiel), Lesley-Ann Brandt (Mazikeen), Scarlett Estevez (Trixie Espinoza), Rachael Harris (Dr. Linda Martin), and Aimee Garcia (Ella Lopez), all of whom will also be back for Season 6.

Dennis Haysbert (God) and Alexander Koch (Pete Daily) will recur throughout the back half of Season 5, while Inbar Levi (Eve) is slated to make a guest appearance in at least one episode. Series newcomers include, but are not limited to, Rob Benedict (Supernatural), Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights), Merrin Dungey (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), and Brianna Hildebrand (Deadpool).

If Tom Ellis is even half as charismatic in his next show then just renew it for eight seasons and feed it to me intravenously.
