Off the heels of the Anime shows for Iron Man, Wolverine and X-Men, Marvel is prepping a final anime series, this time centering on Blade. Dreamgirls' Harold Perrineau will voice the Daywalker in his animated series debut, which is set to begin airing January 13th on G4. Below is a portion of the press release that Marvel issued announcing the news, which includes a couple of new screenshots as well as plot info for the series.

A new Marvel original anime series sinks its teeth into the G4 network with the premiere of "Blade" on Friday, January 13th at 11 p.m. ET/PT. Harold Perrineau voices Eric Brooks, the supernatural Daywalker known as Blade, making his animated series debut with more action, terrifying villains and bloodthirsty monsters than you’ve ever seen before. Following in the steps of other hit Marvel anime series, "Blade" offers viewers 12 half-hour weekly episodes destined to leave you wanting more, exclusively on G4.

Blade’s mother was bitten by a vampire while pregnant, imbuing her unborn son with vampire strength and a thirst for blood, but without the vulnerability to sunlight. A master of weaponry with a desire to avenge the death of his mother, Blade finds himself in Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Cambodia in an effort to take down the evil villain, Deacon Frost. With vampire hunter Makoto at his side, they will stop at nothing to destroy Existence, a vampire organization with roots deeply embedded in Asia.

As the final chapter of the Marvel original anime series, Blade will round out the partnership with G4 and Marvel. Since debuting in October, as a part of G4’s Friday night line-up, “X-Men” has reached over 1.2 million total unique viewers, increasing +55% among G4’s key demographic of males 18-49, while tripling with males 18-34. The first two Marvel original anime series, “Iron Man” and “Wolverine,” premiered in July with similar responses from viewers to this new series.

This looks shitty. Anime stopped being cool around 97. Now it's damn near unwatchable.

This been out for awhile. It wasn't bad, all but his voice.

This will be god awful just like the the X-Men, Wolverine and Iron Man animes. They all miss the point of the source material and just take Marvel characters and throw them into cliche' anime situations. I hope they all get cancelled fast.

I don't like anime style so much, but this one look promising. BTW, it was mention Indonesia, my country. =D

I've watched all of them. In order of quality in story AND enjoyment the list is:
Blade
X-men
Iron Man
Wolverine

I've watched the Blade anime in Japanese so I can't wait to hear Perrinaeau's voice as Blade, though i woulda rathered Michael jai White, as he's my pick to reboot or continue the franchise in live-action.

These should've ben some amazing irreverant version of the characters. Full on eastrn versions. A mecha Iron Man, a demon hunting, ninja fighting Wolverine, an X-men closer to something out of an anime or manga like S-cry-ed, or something.

I like Anime, but meh, I think the 90's version of the animated Spiderman's Blade looked better. but I think a new Snipes Blade Movie, with Blade vs Michael Morbius would be great. Beniccio Del Toro as Morbius
