I just came back from seeing Marvel's The Avengers. I have to say it is the BEST movie Marvel has ever made. SHIELD director Nick Fury gathers a team of superheroes to take on Loki, who makes a deal with an alien named the Other to conqueror Earth. I saw the film in IMAX 3D. This is the first 3D movie that I would recommend to everyone to see it in 3D. The action sequences are spectacular and are one of the highlights of the movie. Out of all the Avengers, the Hulk is by far the best represented on screen. The scene where the Hulk hunts down the Black Widow on the SHIELD helicarrier is scary especially in 3D. The Hulk and Iron Man have some of the best comic lines in the film. After smashing Loki back and forth, the Hulk grumbles "Puny God." I think finally we (the audience) have the perfect actor Mark Ruffalo to play Bruce Banner/Hulk. The one character that falls flat is Captain America. He is such a dork. I can't take him really suriously. The supporting cast is great. Clark Gregg, Stellan Skarsgård and Gwyneth Paltrow have small parts but are memorable in the movie. I was really surprised when Agent Coulson was killed. I thought he would appear in comeo roles in every Marvel film. When the Chitauri invades New York, Iron Man is able to destroy its headquarters thus killing every alien in the city. When dealing with aliens, why is it that by killing the Queen/Mother alien or destroying the alien's base it ultimately kills them all. What's with the alien fish monsters? In the end, I thought the Avengers was a really good popcorn action film. Director Joss Wheadon delivers the goods and hopefully we will see more comic book movies out of him.

I give The Avenger's 5 stars out of 5.
