HEY PEOPLE! I'M BACK! Another all new set of 100 Days of Superhero is headed your way but first off lets get to the rankings of the last batch of films.

Those who have been following my 100 Days of Superheroes will know what this is all about. I’m currently reviewing and ranking 100 superhero films.

Here is how it works. The ranking is determined by two factors; the average audience ranking (by poll votes) combined with my own score for the films in the reviews I wrote. These rankings will be posted every ten reviews so be sure to vote. As more votes and movies are added to the ranking, films will slide up and down on the scale.

You can also go back and vote on previous films already ranked as it could change their score in future updates. So if you don't like the ranking GO VOTE!!! Just click the 100 Days Logo to the Fansite to both vote and read the reviews. So let's get started!

NEWLY RANKED:

#13: The Incredible Hulk

After the abomination that was Ang Lee’s Hulk, the franchise needed a makeover in the hands of Marvel. The team delivered just that. Readers voted it in at a solid score of 75.8%. It offers more action, better acting, but most of all less gimmicky transitions and effects. The CGI might not be the best but it returns Hulk to his fugitive roots.

Ranked At: 77.9%

#21: Defendor

Back in the land of indie filmmaking we have a great little film about a low IQ man who has it out for the unjust. The films central premise might not be too original but it is upheld by the heart of the movie and Woody Harrelson’s great performance. The few that saw it agreed with my initial score and voted it at 76.25%

Ranked At: 73.12%

#22: Watchmen

Here is a graphic novel that is anything but easy to adapt. Yet Zac Snider does a decent job of bringing it too the screen with stellar visuals to keep momentum during the slower moments between characters. Readers voted it up at 75.6% bringing it close to my original score.

Ranked At: 72.83%

#27: Hellboy-The Golden Army

The sequel to Del Toro’s first film arrives with the same great actors and chemistry but suffers from poor plot choices. However, those looking for action and Hellboy witty dialogue will get what they are looking for. Readers liked it considerably more than me with a solid 71.17% score.

Ranked At: 65.58%

#37: Hancock

It was only a matter of time till Will Smith made the Superhero scene. With a great premise of a PR man helping to reform a disliked superhero, he had a good chance of making a great film. Instead he only made half of a good film and the second portion of the movie falls into cliché and stupid twists. Readers liked it a little more than I did with a 60.22% score.

Ranked At: 55.11%

#34: Push

An interesting premise goes to waste on a contrived and convoluted plot. Some mediocre acting doesn’t help much either. Fortunately the end game is pretty entertaining even if it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Readers were mixed about it with a 48.33% score.

Ranked At: 32.73%

#62: Punisher-War Zone

It may be more gritty but the writers disregarded any form of story. It all builds up to an end that looks and feels like a first person shooter and the main character never feels like he’s in much danger. Readers didn’t have much love for it either, voting it at a 45.45%.

Ranked At: 32.73%

#67: The Spirit

Some cool Sin City-like visuals cannot save this movie from being one of the dumbest superhero films in a long time. The only bright spot in this mess is Samuel L. Jackson who is sporadically entertaining. Readers had no more love for it than I did with a 38.78% rating.

Ranked At: 29.39%

#77: Superhero Movie

These thoughtless parody movies exist for one reason. They are cheap and the money is easily made back on them. Thus you get what you’d expect with this film. Poorly conceived jokes that just poke fun at other movies. None of the inventiveness you’d find in the likes of Shaun of the Dead. Readers voted it at an abysmal 24.76%

Ranked At: 17.38%

THE TOP TEN COUNTDOWN:

#10- The Rocketeer

Disappointingly falling quickly out of the top ten is the WWII superhero film that has had a good run here. The Rocketeer provides a lot of campy fun with a good hearted, family friendly story at its core.

Ranked At: 82.3%

#9-Superman: The Movie

A film that never says die. This is one of the first films reviewed for the series and it has stayed in the Top Ten since the first ranking. Starting at #1 it has now fallen all the way down to #9, making the chance of it staying all the way to the end increasingly unlikely.

Ranked At: 85.32%

#8- The Mask of Zorro

A film that cleverly expanded on the mythos rather than rebooting it. The Mask of Zorro is a great blend of the classic and the new, featuring a great revenge storyline and top notch performances. It’s Batman in the wild wild west and it’s as good as in Gotham.

Ranked At: 88%

#7- Spider-Man 2

I’m still surprised how low this is on the list (especially considering it is among my favorite CBM’s). Yet Spider-Man 2 still holds a solid position in the Top Ten and doesn’t seem to be leaving any time soon. This film decreases the problems in the first film and expands on what worked, creating a fun summer blockbuster with emotional resonance.

Ranked At: 88.33%

#6- Robocop

This is a movie that sat at the #1 and #2 spot for a long time in the series. Now it is officially out of the top 5 after its long run. Robocop is a rated R superhero film done right. It has the blood and gore but also is brave enough to take a stab a social commentary.

Ranked At: 89.4%

#5- Batman Begins

Falling a little on the list, Batman Begins dropped, .07% while Iron Man jumped, switching their positions on this list. The power of the polls! Batman Begins is still a phenomenal film and a good look at how an origin story is done right, mixing plot, characters, and action into one tasty bowl.

Ranked At: 93.16

#4- Iron Man

Rising a solid 1.02% in the voting, Iron Man ends up in the exact spot it began last week. Considered by many to be one of the best- if not THE best- Marvel film to date, Iron Man is a blast of action, comedy, and outright fun. It features a great character arc pulled along by Robert Downey Jr.’s spectacular performance.

Ranked At: 92.45%

#3- The Incredibles

Falling from it’s long time spot at #2, The Incredibles is knocked down but still alive and kicking. Pixar proves its mettle and flexes it’s story-crafting muscles. Amongst such darker films at the top, the fact that this family film is so high is a testament to what high quality animation and higher quality storytelling is capable of. This family of superheroes are a blast and they show The Fantastic Four how family filmmaking is done.

Ranked At: 95.34%

#2- The Crow

At last, the king is toppled! The Crow has been sitting at number one since it first was introduced back in Rankings #2. With the overwhelming audience praise and my own high score it was a hard one to beat….but I’ll give you one guess which film did it.

Ranked At: 96.13%

#1- The Dark Knight

This should come as no surprise to anyone, what with its critical acclaim and universal praise. The Dark Knight has been heralded as the Godfather of superhero films. It weaves an engaging story into a state of constant dramatic climax. This is a film that doesn’t let up and keeps the audiences on the edge of their seat right up to the closing credits. Readers voted it up with a killer 97.9%, barely topping The Crow.

Ranked At: 96. 55%
