DC Comics has revealed that Tony S. Daniel (who recently left writing duties on Detective Comics) will be taking on art duties for two issues in Justice League (written by Geoff Johns). Issue #13, which hits stores on October 17th, will introduce the villainess Cheetah to the New 52. The issue will be the first of a two-issue story arc.

"I'm thrilled and honored to again work with Geoff Johns on this Justice League arc,” Daniel told DC's The Source. “It's going to be a lot of fun and I can't wait to work on my favorite characters. Justice League is the first book I pull because of the big stories and the great Jim Lee art inside. I'm very happy that I get a chance to focus all my energy on making my best artwork for Geoff and the fans of Justice League."

Additionally, Johns teases the connection that Cheetah will have with both Wonder Woman and the Justice League, as well as next year's Trinity War event. “Tony and I will be re-introducing one of DC's iconic villains - the Cheetah - and uncovering her mysterious connection to Wonder Woman and the Justice League,” the writer says. “For me, the Cheetah is up there with Black Manta, Sinestro and Captain Cold as one of the most iconic villains in the DC Universe, and she'll become a major villainous force in 2012 and beyond. The fallout from Justice League #12 starts here as we head towards next year's Trinity War.”

Below is Daniels' cover for Justice League #13:

Superman looks stupid also.
Jolt17 - 7/6/2012, 8:11 AM
That's one of his better art. It's very good, in fact. What's up with Cyborg's back, though?
Jolt17 - 7/6/2012, 8:14 AM
Yeah, Superman and Cheetah's face do look weird...but, they change nothing to the art as a whole.
tweeeeenkies3 - 7/6/2012, 8:23 AM
I love I can't wait to get my hands on this!
I love Wonder Woman VS. Cheetah battles! They are great to read/look at!
Tallglass54 - 7/6/2012, 8:56 AM
@jolt17......... its a portable toilet on his back.
IgnurRant - 7/6/2012, 8:57 AM
Cheetah is an iconic villian? lol
gedafe - 7/6/2012, 9:01 AM
Wow! Didn't know Cheetah could take out the entire JLA by herself. New powers with new 52?
SteveRogersSon - 7/6/2012, 9:04 AM
Ok this is just a really cool looking cover..Cheetah looks powerful and dangerous. Hopefully the lackluster track of this title will shape up to equal the intensity of this cover. Everyone looks good..even Super"man's" Botox'ed lower lip!

Still the weakest "Team" book in the 52.
avengersftw - 7/6/2012, 9:04 AM
Cyborgs automatic toilet seats!!!!!
SteveRogersSon - 7/6/2012, 9:17 AM
^^^ Hey he's eco friendly...don't waste a gal per flush.
Jolt17 - 7/6/2012, 9:29 AM
LMAO, a toilet seat...yes, that's the first thing that came to my mind. Weird.
facelesscow - 7/6/2012, 10:12 AM
Um. She has leopard spots, not cheetah spots. That is just sloppy. Who doesn't look at a real cheetah when designing a cheetah-based character?
SteveRogersSon - 7/6/2012, 10:21 AM
Leopard:

Cheetah:
SteveRogersSon - 7/6/2012, 10:22 AM
OMG THEY HAVE SPOTS!!!!!
xstryker - 7/6/2012, 10:37 AM
Interesting - curious to find out how Cheetah got the power to take on the whole JLA. Cheetah v WW should be a good time as always.
JatevinM - 7/6/2012, 10:52 AM
Cheetah looks like a freaking beast.
Fastestmanalive - 7/6/2012, 10:56 AM
Nice, Tony Daniels is a great artist.

Anyone else notice no Hal? it seems he goes MIA in the next few months, hope he's still around but just not in the forefront is all, Hal is the best.
CeltiC527 - 7/6/2012, 12:56 PM
Does anyone else notice that Hal isn't their!?
CeltiC527 - 7/6/2012, 12:56 PM

superman7 - 7/6/2012, 3:23 PM

Fastestmanalive - 7/6/2012, 3:37 PM
@CeltiC527
Yup, they dont call me fastestmanalive for nothing, lol

@Just1Superguy
Thats all it could be, but also in the preview for the third army where he should be front and center he's nowhere to be found, and also in other places, I think he is absent after August, or I hope just behind the scenes.
mgeoff88 - 7/6/2012, 5:47 PM
That's a great cover. Wonder Woman is going to kick Cheetah's ass.

@facelesscow If she can run up to speeds of 70 mph, then I think her name is perfectly suitable. :P
RexDartEskimoSpy - 7/6/2012, 6:08 PM
Cheetah took out Flash and Aquaman. Oookay.

Why does Cyborg have a toilet seat on his back?
redsonjustin - 7/6/2012, 9:10 PM
“For me, the Cheetah is up there with Black Manta, Sinestro and Captain Cold as one of the most iconic villains in the DC Universe, and she'll become a major villainous force in 2012 and beyond." I'm sorry, but, Cheetah, Black Manta and Captain Cold are not iconic villains.
avengersftw - 7/7/2012, 5:25 PM
If that thing on cyborgs back maybe he's gonna turn it on and burn cheetahs butt
redsonjustin - 7/9/2012, 6:18 AM
@ Pux: Well, back when I was a kid, I didn't know who the hell any of these guys were until I watched the Justice league cartoon and the kids I know today, don't know who they are.
LeeSensei - 9/18/2012, 10:50 AM
This sounds interesting.

@RedSonJustin He probably means iconic as members of the Legion of Doom. Also, Black Manta gets spoofed a lot in things like Spongebob and the Looney Tunes.
