Gigan

Gigan is an alien cyborg that hails from Space Hunter Nebula M. Equipped with a buzzsaw in his chest, he rips through his opponents. This violent enemy of Godzilla can teleport and is capable of flying at speeds up to Mach 3. Gigan can also fire an atomic ray beam from his eye.

Clover

This mysterious monster was awoken by a satellite that fell from space. This monster cannot be destroyed by ordinary weapons. Clover has the ability to send small deadly parasites against the opponent. This monster was so powerful, the government decided to send a bomb that would destroy all of New York. But....Clover was able to survive that!

I don't know much about Gigan, but Clover was able to take a ridiculous amount of firepower from the United States military, including carpet bombs and possibly a full-blown nuke.

P.S. I followed the Cloverfield viral campaign since day one. The monster was awoken long before the satellite had fallen to earth. The satellite served as nothing more than a confirmation to the fans that everything from the viral campaign was in canon with the movie.

Yeah. As part of the viral campaign, the movie produced videos of the monster attacking Japanese oil drills.

I know it seems like it could be fake, but take my word for it.... It's real. There's various other videos of the same incident being reported by news stations from other countries. Confirmation of these videos can be found at:

That's is one of the official websites for the movie. If you move the photographs with your mouse, you can see pictures of the monster attacking Japanese oil drills, along with other photos that might peak your curiosity.
