In defense of Bad Marvel Events how many times can they have a world changer event? I mean if they make a new huge world threat every year people will be least interested because we all know that at the end nothing major will happen. So yes this was a great Marvel Event but i seriously doubt they will ever have one as HUGE as this.

wow, slow news day. anyway, nice review. good read before bed.

i've never read infinity gauntlet, but i have to say that this made me want to pick it up. i tried to read civil war and didn't like it enough to read past the second issue.

i just go silver surfer: requiem for christmas from my awesome girlfriend. you should retro-review that one next.

Great Review Destroyer.

That moment where Cap just takes Thanos about to kill him like a true man was just amazing.

For Cosmic epicness, this story is my absoulte favorite. The Infinity War and Infinity Crusade, not so much. I only wish they got a lot deeper into why Living Tribunal was able to resist Warlock when he had the Gauntlet. I always loved that part.

I agree with Intruder. This is probably my favorite event in comics. Each issue was better than the last and all were classic. But man, Secret Wars was definitely amazing as well. For me, it's a close second place.

I STILL to this day, want a 24 x 36 wall poster of that cover to INFINITY GAUNTLET #1! :D

LOVE THE MOVIE PROP THEY MADE...

INFO ON PROP:
-The Infinity Gauntlet- is a left glove which Thanos wears compiled once he has collected all six of the Infinity Gems. Each Gem grants its bearer complete mastery over one aspect of the universe - Time, Space, Mind, Soul, Reality and Power. As you can see above, the prop glove above is the right hand instead of the usual left hand that Thanos wears it on.

The prop was created by Sword and Stone out of Burbank, California with Tony Swatton being the head designer. It was made almost completely out of bronze and copper with the Gems molded out of colored resin. The piece's approximate weight is 60 pounds. All of the joints are operational, in case the studio plans on using animatronics to "wield" it for a future film. Sword and Stone also created the Infinity Sword, which is six feet tall and is encrusted with similar jewels.

Marvel if they wish to reclaim fans and be top of their game need to think.long and hard about their events and not just pop them out like a cheap estate chavy teen, they need to do a really well.thought involving story, make it span 8-10 issues and do it just once a year if not once or twice a year keep these events special and make it reignite people interest

My favorite story line of the all. These were coming out at the height of my comic "buying" days (when I went with mom to the grocery store and hung out in the drug store drooling over the comic rack and would beg her to buy the few I picked out for the week).

@luckylu...I am totally with you on that part. I did the same thing when I first read it and still do when I read the collected series now.

Yeah, there were some parts that may seem...unbelievable...but, as with all other comic books and the comic book movies we get, we suspend our disbelief for a while. That's the whole point.

The almost year long build up in Silver Surfer, while Thanos sought the Infinity Gauntlet, added much to the story as well. This was a gem of a series.

I also liked how in the most recent rehash of the Avengers when the Infinity gems were being gathered Thanos appeared to recover them, although it was a trick, but still.

Do a Review of "The Weird" the four part series from DC, circa 1988ish. Maybe one of DC's best mini's that was long forgotten.

Agree totally on what intruder said. Most epic saga ever, just second to Secret Wars I.

Awesome. That was the time I used to read comics a lot.

While I enjoyed Fear Itself and Secret Invasion, I do miss the days when an event was something we were excited about. There is definitely a sense of event-fatigue prevalent these days. I wish they could bring Jim Starlin back for one more badass cosmic event...
