Excellent review bro! Glad you liked it.

I had a few of the same minor gripes about it, and I think it's annoying people think Raimi franchise is so terrible now. Overall though, I'd say that it was good but they could have done some things a bit more like the comics (Stacy's death specifically) and I would have been happier.

Still, overall I say it's probably better than any of the Raimi films, mainly because it stuck to the comics more.

Cerebro Dude, why do you just target Destroyer's articles? Seriously it's pathetic. He wrote a well written review. I dare you to do better.

I'm glad you like it man, because it left a bad taste in my mouth.

To me, Raimi's trilogy is superior for multiple reasons. To begin, TASM seems like it doesn't bring a whole lot of new material, and is working off of a diagram of Raimi's Spider-man - trying hard to do its own thing, but eventually just giving in. While sure, there's the webshooters, how did Peter get the web cartridges? We see him designing the shooter, but again, did he steal the cartridges from Oscorp off-screen?

Secondly, it didn't feel like Spider-man until the last half-hour or so, and only somewhat then. I didn't dislike Peter running around without a costume - I thought that was pretty cool actually, but I thought I would see him pull off some more heroic feats than hunting down his Uncle's killer. When the Lizard makes his debut, Spider-man is focused on cleaning up after him, not saving people from non-related burning buildings, or purse-snatchers.

Thirdly, there's Doctor Connors. I thought Rhys Ifans was ok, probably better than Dylan Baker would have been. The problem is his lines were horrible, and the pacing during his transformation is just sloppy. He has no internal struggle, just an internal voice telling him to [frick] Peter Parker. I didn't admire the effects either, and I'm usually very very lenient with them because I do not go see a movie for the special effects it has to offer. His voice did not match the lip movements, which was the justification for why his face is less like a Lizard and more like a man's.

I think it was sloppy, and it had a lot of potential to live up to its namesake. Andrew Garfield was a better Spider-man, and although it isn't saying much, Emma Stone was a better Gwen. I think Uncle Ben and Aunt May were portrayed differently, so I kind of regard them as four different characters, but I liked Martin Sheen better, and I thought Sally Field gave us a more realistic Aunt May, just underused.

I'd give it a 6/10
