I'm calling it right here, right now, Fan Girls are going to start going crazy over the Digg/Ollie bromance. We're going to have Diggle merchandise, people!

I wished the fight between Yao Fei and Deathstroke was longer.

Just watched this show for the first time tonight with friends. It seemed like Nolan's Batman + Smallville.

Great, sad Deathstroke didn't get to be in it a bit longer... but still it was really great that they didn't kill him so quickly like Deadshot. Looking forward to the next episode. :)

Deathstroke was barely in it. But for the few scenes he appeared he was pretty awesome :)

His fight with the asian guy was really cool! And I liked when he caught the arrow in mid-air and broke it in half.

The episode just left more questions in my mind than answers though. Like...who is that organization that captured Ollie on the island and what were they doing there? Why were they searching for the asian guy and is Deathstroke really dead? I'm sure Deathstroke will return but that episode left a lot of questions in my mind nonetheless.

@LP4.

Then it did its job.

I knew Deathstroke wouldn't be in it too much going in, so the lack of screen wasn't a surprise. The character was played by a stuntman and had no lines so my guess is he will return with a much larger role and being played by an actual actor with lines and shit.

Naw Deathstroke's still kickin. They'll probably save him for later on to tangle with Ollie.

The way I'm seeing this going; Deathstroke and his employer looking for Yao Lin are connected to the same people that wanted Robert dead and anyone that was with him the night the Queen's Gambit was sunk. Moira and whoever else included on that list of names Ollie/Arrow is taking out will start to get desperate and are likely to call in Deathstroke to take out Arrow :P

Heh, man I'm excited to see which direction this show takes!

My favourite episode so far. The fight sequence between Deathstroke and Queen's saviour (Yao Fei?) was breathtakingly well done and the drip-drip feeding of Moira Queen's secrets are now (finally) beginning to excite me. Only one teeny weeny niggle - I had always imagined Deathstroke to be athletically built but the one we saw had the bulky physique of Bane which I thought looked wrong.

my only problem with Deathstroke is that they made him seem like a goon, which is far from what he is. also would had loved for him to have some lines, but overall great episode.

Maybe the Chinese government wants Yao Fei (The Most Accomplished Physician) back, and Deathstroke's been hired to bring him in. He is a member of the Great Ten after all.

@comiccow6 I've seen screenshots where he is missing the right eye, so I'm guessing on the episode he returns in, it'll show how he lost it on the island. Either to Yao Fei or Oliver somehow to add drama.

I'm not a real big fan of the show but this episode was pretty sweet. Deathstroke was a good adaptation of his character. Hands down better than any Smallville episode.

I honestly always saw Deathstroke as a leader. Here hes just a quite henchman :/

...He's a mercenary.

It's his job to follow the orders of whoever pays him and it was obvious the dude was paying him.

Yea at points Slade has gone off on his own and shit and on occasion he may turn on his clients but he's still a mercenary.

I really liked this episode and it is obvious that the show is improving in every way! BUT i hated the last scene when Ollie jumped and took down the first shooter. The shooter reacted so bad and slow, it was just pathetic and ridiculous. Still to much bullet dodging.

Arrow is looking good. I think its best show CW ever had. But since is a movie website, I just noticed a really strong resemblance to a direct to DVD animated movie Batman: mystery of the Batwoman (2003). In this movie Kathy Duquesne (pronounced Du Kane like Kathy Kane, the silver aged Batwoman), is the daughter of a gangster who assigns thugs to protect her--she is very good at avoiding them when she goes off to disguise herself as Batwoman. This should be starting to sound familiar. She further is able to evade detection because other people sometimes disguise themselves Batwoman when she is visible somewhere else--for example with Bruce Wayne. Like Arrow she has limited ability to control her violent streak. Unlike Arrow, its a family cartoon so being really violent will not actually kill anyone.

The cartoon is older than the Green Arrow year one on which Arrow is primarily based. It has too little realism to generate the kind of tension that you see on Arrow, but it does have a very strong sense of humor (something Arrow could use more of), and great scenes of Batman fighting Bane (Arrow could also use a little more action).

So, I just thought Arrow fans looking for a descent comic book movie might check out the 2003 Batwoman.
