THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Shoot Moves To The Cemetery

On location reports confirm that a cemetery scene is set to be filmed within the next few days of Marc Webb's shoot for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Previously, a casting call stated that another funeral scene will be shot in the sequel, who do you think it's for?

Olv has confirmed early casting call sheets that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to film a funeral scene in Queens, NY at the Lutheran Cemetery within the next few days. Expect a bevy of set photos to pop-up shortly thereafter and potentially give us our first glimpse of returning cast and crew. Remember that set photos for the first Andrew Garfield Spider-Man outing confirmed the death of Captain Stacy (Dennis Leary), are we headed towards more death in the Stacy family?

Of course there are plenty of other candidates as well. We never did see the funeral for Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen) and there's always the chance that it could be a flashback or the sequel could pick up from Captain Stacy's funeral in the first film.

If you're itching to get a proper glimpse at what's going on, check back on CBM frequently over the next few days.

The Amazing Spider-Man sequel will hit theaters May 2, 2014. Filming is currently underway and will be the first Spider-Man film shot entirely in New York.

Please keep us updated, I need to know if it's Gwens funeral so I don't have to bother pre-ordering the first screening tickets.
McNyagano - 2/13/2013, 2:44 PM
It could be Peter's parents funeral in a flashback
DrDoom - 2/13/2013, 2:44 PM
@Levi

That seems appropriate.
pretentiousdouchebag - 2/13/2013, 2:45 PM
I can't at people getting mad that Gwen might die. It's like getting mad over Uncle Ben dying. Sheesh.

I don't think it's her funeral, though, idk why. Probably just a flashback.
Spideyguy94 - 2/13/2013, 2:46 PM
Please don't be gwen's, i don't want to be spoiled.
CaptainObvious - 2/13/2013, 2:47 PM
@LEVITIKUZ- At least it will be a pretty grave until Joe Quesada comes along and spits on it.
Mrcool210 - 2/13/2013, 2:47 PM
it can't be peters parents funurel, remember uncle ben saying they never saw them again.
Dax - 2/13/2013, 2:47 PM
I've been a Spidey fan since I was 4, watching the old 90s animated series. I've read (almost) everything from Amazing Fantasy #15 to Superior Spider-Man #3. I am Spider-Man fan incarnate. So I don't understand the hate TASM gets. I thought it really was a definitive Spider-Man for our generation, and I cannot wait for this sequel. I think Jeremy Jahns gives a pretty great review of the film.

tasm 2 is gonna be awesome. can't wait

JMESS - 2/13/2013, 2:50 PM
@ yssarian lmao
arashini - 2/13/2013, 2:50 PM
tasm was such a completely forgettable film.

and that's saying a lot considering it had a guy with spider powers, and a giant [frick]ing lizard running around wrecking shit.

and no, the cutesy romance thing didn't save this film for me.
Ramiel - 2/13/2013, 2:51 PM
Sweet gif, Jollem.
arashini - 2/13/2013, 2:52 PM
don't know why people have such a problem with jamie foxx in this.

he's the only reason i'll even bother watching tasm 2.
DukeAcureds - 2/13/2013, 2:55 PM
I'm still thinking it's Gwen. It's one of those Talia moments. The only doubts that I had with Talia is that Marion Cottilard flat out denied it. No more wil a flat-out denial be trusted.
Cumberbatch is Khan.
Gwen dies in TASM 2.

blackandyellow@ If given the speed it gains something called momentum. You do know that football goal posts aren't solid metal right? That football was thrown with enough strength and speed that it could've bent a HOLLOW goal post
Durf - 2/13/2013, 2:58 PM
@Jollem: lol
Jollem - 2/13/2013, 2:59 PM
@blackandyellow - with enough force. same with the zagnut bar in Hancock :)

now answer this: how did maria hill survive an explosion from an "advanced" alien grenade at point-blank range?
Durf - 2/13/2013, 2:59 PM
@Jatevin: um, no. A LEATHER football will not bend a [frick]ing goal post. The [frick]ing ball would explode before it would bend that
McNyagano - 2/13/2013, 3:06 PM
People the argument why does a leather football bend a goal post is just plain stupid...It's a spider man movie for pete's sake, the guy dresses up in spandex and fought a giant talking lizard...He got hit by a train in Spider man 2 and survived i don't see anyone bitching about that -_-
DanteSparda - 2/13/2013, 3:06 PM
I agree with most that this is just a flashback, I don't think anyone will die in this movie, but in the third one we all know who will die at the hands of who.

@Jollem

Nice!
AmazingFantasy - 2/13/2013, 3:07 PM
Oh hey guys look, more TASM news!
Let's [frick]ing hate on it and give our bias opinions and stupid argments that never end.
Durf - 2/13/2013, 3:08 PM
@TeeKay: there is suspension of disbelief, and then there is insulting intelligence. the football thing is insulting intelligence
Wildaniel - 2/13/2013, 3:08 PM
I hope its not Gwen, still to early to kill her off. She should die in the third movie, and thats if only there will be three movies.
PeterParker1991 - 2/13/2013, 3:09 PM
^^lol. - - Flashback scene. Guarantee
razor - 2/13/2013, 3:10 PM
The funeral scene is to bury the first movie.
Jollem - 2/13/2013, 3:11 PM
a grenade exploding right next to someone and not doing much of anything is really insulting to intelligence, then...
Jollem - 2/13/2013, 3:12 PM
batman with the whole broken back thing is really insulting to intelligence, then...
McNyagano - 2/13/2013, 3:23 PM
@Durf... I get your point, a scene like that in a "realistic" Spider man movie is very cheesy but there more even cheesier moments in that movie cough*crane scene* cough, where Spidey got shot so he couldn't swing despite the fact there was skyscrppers around him..Pathetic...I can at leasr understand Peter strutting through the streets of New york in Spider man 3, at least there was justification for that.
DoodPool - 2/13/2013, 3:24 PM
Wouldn't be a spiderman movie without a funeral, pretty sure every spiderman film has a funeral.
Jollem - 2/13/2013, 3:26 PM
in the movie it clearly showed spidey having trouble making his way to oscorp from where he was. the director's commentary can also help clear this up as well as many gripes i have heard. feed your head. be informed of things
bababoozer - 2/13/2013, 3:26 PM
Jamie Foxx if he f*%#* up this character.
Luminus - 2/13/2013, 3:26 PM
For Odin's sake, change that Zeus forsaken soundtrack!
SuperSpiderMan5778 - 2/13/2013, 3:26 PM
one can only hope its the death of sony's contract with marvel...FAWKIN GIVE SPIDEY BACK TO MARVEL YOU SHITTY MOVIE MAKING FAWKS
Durf - 2/13/2013, 3:28 PM
@TeeKay: Oh, God that cheesy ass crane scene

@Jollem: the magic healing rope was insulting to intelligence yes. And yeah the grenade was kinda insulting too
CaptainObvious - 2/13/2013, 3:30 PM
@blackandyellow- I'll tell you why. The answer is....I have absolutely no idea on how that is possible. My question is how come nobody became suspicious of Peter when he does these superhuman things in public?

Also, remember that scene where Peter uses the web shooters for the first time and lands on some tables? In broad daylight. In New York City, one of the busiest and populous cities in the world. How could nobody see him do that?

Now that I think about it, Peter does a horrible job keeping his identity a secret. The only reason people don't find out is because the script says so.
Jollem - 2/13/2013, 3:36 PM
@Durf - yeah, or the "i'm mind-controlled by an alien/magic/tech spear-spell, but, [frick] you!. i do what i want. i'm just gonna override a magic spell with my brain and put a fail-safe thing in and then go back to being mind-controlled again" deus ex machina

let's not pretend all cbms or movies can't be nit-picked to hell and back :)
CrimsonArk - 2/13/2013, 3:37 PM
@ TeeKay
ever see a pendelum swing? Ever noticed that the string is attached straight up to a focal point? You know why that is? So that the object can gain maxium potential energy, convert it to kinetic, gain momentum and therefore gain velocity. You could clearly see in that scene are far spread those buildings were, and considering Spidey was on a timer he couldn't exactly take his time. Seriously, the hate this movie gets is just pathetic at this point, ANYTHING and EVERYTHING is picked apart and b*tched about, more than any other movie I've ever seen.
Add that with the Marvel Studios biased and you have the perfect concotion for syking yourself out. Btw for you Marvel Studios fanboys, if it wasn't for Sony there probably wouldn't even be a MS and an MCU. X-Men got people interested in CBMs again, and the SM movies is what turned it into a phenomon. The biasness and the amount of fanboyism on here is sickening, that people would stoop so low to complain about a movie, rather then hoping it turns out alright. You people are f**king jaded and ignorant.
