COMICS: JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #5 Cover Reveals More DC Death

If you're in the speculating game, the cover for Justice League of America #5 reveals that you probably want to make sure you have your order in for JLA #4 as someone on the team dies that issue.

Follow Mark:
By Mark Julian - 3/8/2013
Reeling from the traumatic death following issue #4’s cliffhanger, the “world’s most dangerous team” discovers what the Secret Society is ultimately after—and who they are. But can Steve Trevor get this uncontrollable team under control before it’s too late? Plus, a revelation about Stargirl leaves one of her team members out for blood.

Judging by the cover, we see Hawkman, Green Lantern Baz and Martian Manhunter paying there respects to their fallen team member so we know it's not one of them. And thanks to the solicitation we know Steve Trevor is safe. We can also probably put Vibe and Katana in the safe zone as well seeing as how they both just launched solo titles. So that leaves Stargirl (does that 'revelation' mentioned in the solicitation come out after her death), Green Arrow and Catwoman as possible fatalities. We should hear more news as we get closer to May when the death will be revealed.

I can see them killing off Catwoman.... If anything, it'd make a good character arc for Bats.
MarkJulian - 3/8/2013, 2:20 PM
@longbowhunter Read the solicitation.
NorrinRaddical - 3/8/2013, 2:20 PM
Trevor would make the most sense to be buried with a flag though
NorrinRaddical - 3/8/2013, 2:20 PM
...so stargirl. no big loss
DanteSparda - 3/8/2013, 2:25 PM
Rest in peace Young Justice and Green Lantern: TAS
Fastestmanalive - 3/8/2013, 2:29 PM
I dont know, Green Arrow is way too popular to die and he has his own solo title, plus his june solicotation shows he's alive and well.

I think Catwoman is also too popular and she has her own title. Star girl is Johns baby, it was his first DC written title, he's a big fan so also no.

So I really dont know cuz that excludes everyone.
CaptainAmerica1945 - 3/8/2013, 2:30 PM
Gone, dead, done, all over....

Until they are rebooted, resurrected, or reborn as a clone!

Nobody dies in comics, so nothing to see here.
thorhulk77 - 3/8/2013, 2:33 PM
Stargirl? :)
thorhulk77 - 3/8/2013, 2:38 PM
@AraxisHT

LMAO!
MarkJulian - 3/8/2013, 2:38 PM
My money is on Stargirl.
MatchesMalone1989 - 3/8/2013, 2:38 PM
When you die in the New 52 its real!
Malacos - 3/8/2013, 2:42 PM
Vibe needs to die... horribly.
Beatnation - 3/8/2013, 2:51 PM
When you die in the New 52 its real!
marvel72 - 3/8/2013, 2:54 PM
whomever it is expect to see them back in six months.
Wingding - 3/8/2013, 3:00 PM
I'm callin' Stargirl. Makes the most sense out of all of them.
LordOfTheZegaRealm - 3/8/2013, 3:20 PM
If Stargirl read these comments she would be so disappointed.
marvel72 - 3/8/2013, 3:33 PM
When you die in the New 52 its real!

lets see them kill any of the following batman, superman, wonder woman, green lantern, flash or aquaman.

see how long they stay dead.
ACira - 3/8/2013, 3:38 PM
Can't imagine them killing off Catwoman at this point. Doesn't she have her own solo series? Plus, she's guest starring in one of the Batman titles in a month or so, right? And they just killed Damien off, how are they going to fit Batman's reaction to her death into his story line as well as his mourning over the death of his son.
ACira - 3/8/2013, 3:40 PM
@TDK1939 that Wonder Woman coffin... WTF were they thinking? It had to be glass, and they had to get a good view of her breasts in there, and they couldn't even cover her crotch... not just objectifying her, but objectifying her corpse?! Classy, DC... really classy...
longbowhunter - 3/8/2013, 3:53 PM
@MarkJulian, I dont see anything stating it cant be Steve Trevor? "But can Steve Trevor get this uncontrollable team under control before its too late?" I dont know, can he? That doesnt reveal him staying alive to me. Plus lets do the math. Vibe and Katana just launched new series. Green Arrow is too popular right now. I cant see Catwoman dying anywhere but her own title. Stargirl is a character created by Geoff Johns in memory of his dead sister (that'd be a no there)and the rest of the team are on the cover. Plus Trevor is the only military team member, hence the flag. Plus he got just got replaced as JL liason by the dubious Amanda Waller. More than likely though no one is dying. Also could be a fake death on Ollie's part.
MarkJulian - 3/8/2013, 4:10 PM
@longbowhunter If someone dies in issue 4 and Trevor is maneuvering around in issue 5 then it's not him in the casket.
FreakingIntelligentRobertGriffin - 3/8/2013, 4:30 PM
Man its just some guy name Batman.
bazinga85 - 3/8/2013, 4:47 PM
Definitely Stargirl. Manhunter, Baz, and Hawkman are touching the casket. GA, Vibe, Kitana and Catwoman all have solo titles, and Trevor is in the description. Sorry stargirl, you were bland anyways.
Gusto - 3/8/2013, 4:53 PM
I'd comment...but, it would just get deleted.
Gusto - 3/8/2013, 4:54 PM
lmao...mctrinket!!! looks like Tea's nightstand!
TheBloodCrow - 3/8/2013, 5:00 PM
people seem to read the title of the article and comment immediately. read the solicitation you idiots!

It's most likely Stargirl, Catwoman has a Batman & Catwoman issue coming so unless this took place after. Green Arrow is just getting his series back on track.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 3/8/2013, 5:07 PM
ACira
wow never thought of that until you said. So true! lol
IronHood - 3/8/2013, 5:20 PM
It's either Green Arrow, Catwoman, Kitana, Vibe, or Stargirl. I don't think it should be Stargirl, she just got introduced in the New 52. She shouldn't be wiped out that fast, If anything it should be someone with their own book, I think it should be Catwoman. She's got her own series & like others mentioned it would be another great arc for Batman. Finally be able to stop grieving the loss of Damian, he loses Selina next...
FlixMentallo21 - 3/8/2013, 5:38 PM
FEH, another death in comics.
shangho - 3/8/2013, 5:56 PM
@mctrinket, HA!!!!!Those things are more useful (and more popular)than Vibe!!!!Honestly WHY do Vibe and Kitana have series but Dr.Fate and Red Tornado don't????!!!!Ridiculous!
JayJayCAW - 3/8/2013, 6:40 PM
hopefully it's Vibe, he's horrible
AUSSYACE - 3/8/2013, 7:09 PM
DC = WINNING...
DarkKnight23 - 3/8/2013, 8:10 PM
My money is on Steve Trevor. But I wouldn't mind seeing Vibe take a dirt nap
fawfulmark2 - 3/8/2013, 9:18 PM
@LEVITKRUZ

When you die in the New 52 its real!

I kinda hope so-it was supposed to be like that in DCU after Blackest Night before pussying out one arc later in Brightest Day.
Rhino4508 - 3/8/2013, 9:20 PM
Or Steve Trevor?....
coolguy - 3/8/2013, 9:25 PM
i dont think johns would use star girl as fodder. he based the characyer on his sister. i think itll be some coulson type character or somebody who joins and we havent seen them. agent fed maybe
churchgriff - 3/8/2013, 10:06 PM
My money is on Amanda Waller.
loki668 - 3/8/2013, 10:17 PM
It's Vibe. Hawkman caught him "popping and locking" and decided to wreck his shit.

@churchgriff
That coffin is nowhere NEAR wide enough to hold Waller ;)

Lord Loki has spoken
Rcphill - 3/8/2013, 11:47 PM
Waller!
Martay - 3/9/2013, 5:50 AM
Judging by the American flag draped over the coffin it has to be someone with an American origin right?
Icemanisthecoolest - 3/9/2013, 7:08 AM
Not necessarily, it is the Justice League of America after all.
RexDartEskimoSpy - 3/9/2013, 11:17 AM
Yawn. Martian Manhunter backup story? Tell me more about that.
Aquam4n - 3/9/2013, 5:25 PM
The issues for Batman and Robin..

#20 — Batman and Red Hood
#21 — Batman and Batgirl
#22 — Batman and Catwoman
#23 — Batman and Nightwing

It won't be Catwoman.
