For those that have read the main issues of 2011's DC Comics crossover event Flashpoint (from Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert), it should come as no surprise that the main villain of Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox will be Eobard Thawne aka Reverse-Flash bka Professor Zoom. Voicing the Flash villain will be actor C. Thomas Howell. Directing the forthcoming Warner Bros. direct-to-video venture will be Jay Oliva who's coming off a strong performance on The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2. Oliva's also previously directed 15 episodes of Young Justice.

For additional casting and a glimpse of the first still, check out yesterday's post.

When time travel allows a past wrong to be righted for The Flash and his family, the ripples of the event prove disastrous as a fractured, alternate reality now exists where a Justice League never formed, and even Superman is nowhere to be found. Teaming with a grittier, more violent Dark Knight and Cyborg, Flash races to restore the continuity of his original timeline while this new world is ravaged by a fierce war between Wonder Woman's Amazons and Aquaman’s Atlanteans. With breath taking action and an all-star voice cast, it's a bold, emotional vision that will forever change the landscape of the DC Universe.

too bad Reverse-Flash didn't take Johnny's "stay gold" message to heart in the New 52... new design looks like something Carnage puked up.

Ponyboy as Reverse Flash? Awesome!

You know, in regards to the Reverse Flashes, I always had someone different in mind.

Rodger Bumpass as Eobard Thawne/Professor Zoom
Michael Emerson as Hunter Zolomon/Zoom

Still, Ponyboy as Thawne, that should be interesting to hear.

...though, of all the crossover events to make a movie out of, I would think Infinite Crisis would've been a better choice.

I will seriously eat my hat if they cast Zachary Levi as the voice of Barry--he's been my pick for the character since I used him for my "Flash and Green Lantern: The Brave and the Bold" and "Justice League/Avengers"--The Animated Mini-Series fancasts.
