" But why does he seem to have created one without his wife – or nis nephew and fellow Flash, Wally West?"

Hmm...indeed. Wonder if they will end up exploring this? After all, Barry has no memory of the original timeline, but DOES remember the events of "Flashpoint." And who the hell is that hooded woman? I love the DCnU. :)

I dont mind as long as he ends up with Iris at some point,I mean she is an important part in the Flash mythology.

And concerning Wally, I dident understand his statement. so we know that even though Iris is not a love interest at this point shes stil around, but when it says Barry has created a world without Iris or Wally in it, does that mean that Wally is just not in the same role as b4 but still around or that he dosent exsist at all?

If Barry & Iris aren't together in the DCnU, and Wally isn't in the picture, then who the [frick] is Teen Titans' Kid Flash?!?!
BooYah
BooYah - 9/2/2011, 1:54 PM
Well obviously. They're rebooting, no ones going to be married yet.
Redhood2k10
Redhood2k10 - 9/2/2011, 1:54 PM
sad but as long as it leads to good story telling, i would love to see how barry and iris fell in love and watch it grow.

^ I mean Bart can't be Kid Flash if his Grandparents never hooked up.

the spider-man break up bothered me more than the superman & flash marriage break ups.
HannibalKing
HannibalKing - 9/2/2011, 1:58 PM
So that was the whole point of Flashpoint? So Barry could dates other chicks?
Wow.
As long as Iris remains in the book however I'm happy. And if they eventually get back together, I'm even happier!

Switching "love interests" doesnt automatically lead to good story telling. Good story telling leads to good story telling if its the same character from the past or not. The fact they seem changing the love interest is a bold new direction and leads to good story telling is an area of concern. Ie they have no clue how to tell a good story

so does Wally not exist at all in this continuity? Or is he just not Flash yet?

Ever heard the expression; rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic? It will take one hell of a lot more than this to justify screwing up so much DC history. Here's a thought; invent some NEW, edgy, relevant characters.
Ceejay
Ceejay - 9/2/2011, 2:18 PM
DC comics have the worst history in terms of continuity, it's a surprise their readers are not dyslexic!
schneider625
schneider625 - 9/2/2011, 2:24 PM
I just got back from the comic shop and was saying that if the original Titans have been wiped out, I am Done. I was told to be optimistic. This is just one more f@#$ing thing that is proving that my favorites won't be coming back or at least in the same way. I am glad Barry Allen is back, but not at the cost of Wally West. And who the f@#$ is Dick Grayson going to be if not the founder, leader, mentor, big brother and heart of the Titans. I don't know why I waited through all the crap through the years for DC to just basically tell all their loyal fans to go f@#$ off. Make way for all the potential new readers who may or may not come. I hope all these assholes (Didio, Johns, Lee, Morrison, ect.) lose their jobs when this $hit fails worse than the Green Lantern movie.

"DC our heroes aren't married! kids ;0) "

"DC superman is a douchebag now"

"DC we just ran out of ideas so were retelling a bunch origins"....except for batman and green lantern because there comics where selling fine"

"DC if spiderman can get a bull shit divorce why not superman and flash "
rbfn04
rbfn04 - 9/2/2011, 2:27 PM
@schneider625 yeah, I have the feeling DC will lose more loyal readers than gain new one. That's why Flashpoint ended the way it did. Next Crisis will be back to normal, or mostly at least
Pappy
Pappy - 9/2/2011, 2:32 PM
So Dan Dildo, Geoff Johns, and Jim Lee decided to go all "One Moment In Time" on the Flash? Screw that. Those three maybe worse than Joey Q. At least he didn't ruin the whole Marvel universe.

As far as I'm concerned, this whole New 52 is not canon. It's not in my canon at least.
CaptainAmerica1945
CaptainAmerica1945 - 9/2/2011, 2:33 PM
Remember, these changes are for the new fans. If you have been a fan for years get over it. DC wants new people not existing customers.

I am guessing Green Arrow and Black Canary are not married either?
TerminatorMode
TerminatorMode - 9/2/2011, 2:34 PM
i'm willing to wait and see if he can make good on that promise - while the barry/iris relationship is not as celebrated as the clark/lois one it is still an integral part of the mythology and one that was particularly important in flash: rebirth
rbfn04
rbfn04 - 9/2/2011, 2:38 PM
@CaptainAmerica1945 didn't GA and Canary split after Arrow kille Prometheus? i believe they did.

Yes, it's for new readers. But is it a good idea if they lose more readers than gain?
ICStoopedPeople
ICStoopedPeople - 9/2/2011, 2:48 PM
Wow. Glad I'm not a DC person, I'd be getting downright annoyed at the sheer amount of changes coming.
Checkmate
Checkmate - 9/2/2011, 2:50 PM
I'm okay with it, they're definitely going to be back together some time. And Wally's not Kid Flash, he's currently in limbo, Bart's Kid Flash.

And @schneider625
Scott Lobdell has said a few times already that the original Teen Titans are still in continuity, and that would mean Wally still exists.
SoItGoes
SoItGoes - 9/2/2011, 2:52 PM
That is ridiculous, characters can still be new and exciting, like DC wants, and be married.
