Would there have been a scene where Scarecrow screams "The BEES! Oh NO! NOT THE BEES!"? Or, more appropriately "The BATS! Oh NO! NOT THE BATS!!!!"

comicbooks are distinclty American? What about belgium and france? tey have a pretty big comicbook culture as well. or the japanese manga re also comics. to say that the Americans invented comics is ignorant, at best. I don't think Schoemacher could have saved his career by making another batman film. More like the opposite.

Too much hate for Cage. The guy LOVES comic books, has an Oscar, and gives it his all when he acts. Quit hating and be GLAD he's giving you another Ghost Rider bitches.

So weird.

Especially considering WB hired him along with Tim Burton for "Superman Lives" around the same time.

"We are living in dark times . . . " I wonder how Cage feels about the creator Ghost Rider; Gary Friedrich - he is currently ill - and about to lose his home. Marvel will not give him a cent for his creation due to arcane copyright laws. I won't bother to ask what the rest of you guys think because few of you have created original characters or been screwed out of money for your ideas and work.

@BillyBatson1000 dude, when you work for a company, whatever you create belongs to that company. period. it's not arcane.

sucks about Friedrich though... but you can't blame Marvel.

@HelaGood - I respect your difference of opinion. But we'll never agree. I've had so much personal BS from comic companies that I'm now in a different trade. My first published work was actually copied from really bad photostats that I sent out as samples of my work - without even asking or telling me. Marvel could easily give this guy a stipend to fix the mess that he is currently in. Even DC did that with the creators of Superman. Marvel actually kept Jack Kirby's original art - he had to fight for its return -which never happened in completion. At one point Marvel shared offices with another company - and their staff used to take Kirby's original art home - from an unlocked file. These people do not deserve the talent that works for them.

At least he wouldn't have been playing Superman if that disaster ever happened

@Chechen So what? Even Spiderman 2 was awesome. It's not like Iron Man was liquid poo was it?
And Nic Cage is a terrific actor. Just see his performance in Adpatation. He's brilliant. How he gets cast in shitty movies totally escapes me.

darthbobtarkas - 2/14/2012, 9:35 PM
Also, he's really committed to the roles he's played. Just look up how he prepared for Ghost Rider, with vau-doo dolls and egyptian dark magic and whatnot. That's awesome. Crazy, but awesome.
