Not too shabby, not too shabby at all. The Chinese debut should also give it a nice little push.

Really great news I loved Antman. Hope it gets a sequel 400 million is fantastic. I loved the acting the story and the Ants aswell as Mike as Hank Pym he was great. And Hope Cant wait to see her as the Wasp. Its now my favourite marvel movie with Winter Soldier and Guardians. And it was Better than Avengers Age of Ultron. Hope Antman 2 happens

Remember, Zak Snyder says that this is just a "fad", and movies like this aren't that great because it isn't Batman or Superman. It's true, Snyder said so.

@TheRealRemyLebeau "$130M budget. Double that = $390M."

I think you mean triple.

Iron Man was also not known by 95% of the audience when it was released, and MOS had Superman where 95% of the audience knew EXACTLY who he was. Nice comparison, lol

So since both movies are the start of a universe (where neither universe was officially announced at the times release), comparing the box office of an unknown Iron Man vs. the most popular superhero of all time? Sounds like you are stretching pretty hard there

I think it's weird that people don't think Ant-Man was a risk because it was too "formulaic". But let's stop and think a second. It was a movie about a c-list character who's superpower is shrinking. How is making a big budget movie about him not considered a risk? You people are so acustom to Marvel's success that you are blinded by the fact that they have introduced Ant-Man into pop culture.

So an Ant-Man movie wasn't a risk, but a Superman movie was......

Yes, this is what we are dealing with here, lol

"If Superman is that easy to make money off than why didn't Superman Returns own the box office?"

Because the movie was a hot mess. Go watch it again. Everything except Kevin Spacey was [frick]ing terrible. (and the eyeball shot and plane scene)

You're digging a hole for yourself because, yes MoS is the highest grossing Superman movie. But it's also the 6th Superman movie, as opposed to IronMan's first. Their place in their respective universe does not matter to a general audience, because that's not common knowledge. It is to cb fans but we're only a small %. But if you want to make it that type of discussion, Fine. MoS grossed more than Ironman, but Ironman made more money for the studio because it had a tighter budget and had less brand recognition.
