Fans weren't happy with DC's decision to leave Wally West out of "The New 52" DC Universe, but Dan Didio and Eddie Berganza have now confirmed that he (and Donna Troy) will return at some point.

Bleeding Cool's Siike Donnelly is at Megacon and has uncovered some very interesting details on a couple of the fan favourite characters missing from "The New 52" DC universe. Many comic book readers grew up knowing only Wally West as their Flash, and while the return of Barry Allen was met with approval a few years ago, the fact Wally was put on the back burner left many feeling disgruntled. However, "Flashpoint" (which essentially rebooted the DC Universe) took things a step further, with one very notable absence. Well, it appears that Wally may be back sooner than expected and so will Wonder Woman's Donna Troy.

That led us to a young man that asked about Wally West, to which of course I clapped and seconded. Dan and Eddie gave an answer that is going to keep me at bay with nerd rage for a while longer. He said because there were de-aging Barry, they didnt want him to be the same age as Wally. Plus they didnt want to take away Wally’s kids and family or make him a teenager again, especially with Bart already in that role. Dan also pointed out that someone close to him is a big Donna Troy fan, and Donna was given the same treatment when Wonder Woman was made younger in the relaunch. Their answer was that they are simply focusing on establishing the characters they started out with in this new 52, but not saying those other characters don’t exist or aren’t around in some way. They understand that everyone’s character is someone’s favorite. They just ask us Wally and Donna fans to be a bit more patient with them and those characters will be seen once more.

This is just a very small excerpt from the sites report so be sure to click on the link below for more details on the role of Darkseid and DC's Free Comic Book Day issue which will focus on Pandora, the mysterious hooded woman who ushered in the new universe at the conclusion of "Flashpoint." Would you like to see Wally West return? If so, in what form? Sound off with your thoughts in the usual place.

YES!!!! Bring back the true Flash, Wally West.

And dont give me this bs of we de-aged Barry so we dont wanna make him the same age, so maybe they shouldeve scrapped Nightwing cuz they de-aged Bruce, load of crap.
Wally is the same age as Dick Grayson so no excuse there.

As far as having two characters around that are the same, we got four GLs runing around so they could do the same thing here.

BRING BACK THE REAL FLASH!! WALLY WEST!!!

I think Wally should show up with all the memories of the beloved past universe and be the catalyst that brings it all back, killing Barry off in the process. They can call it FLASH BACK.

Wally West did for Flash what Kyle Rayner did for Green Lantern......making the character interesting.

Imagine that, one paragraph, a copy and pasted interview, then a poll, so original.

I would like to see him back, but don't kill Barry.

@Just1Superguy What the hell are you talking about Stewart had not been relevant in comics long before Hal even died. Stewart was just popular in a cartoon show. Kyle was was the current GL when before Hal came back. And the GL comic was dead until Hal's return.

Also with the Flash, a forensic cop is way more interesting then a lotto winner. Man its just like the younger generation to idealize someone who does not have a real job and just has things given to them.

@0SageMode0 Yet no one was buying the Kyle GL comics, bringing back Hal made it number 1. And since it has stayed with in the top 5 spot of comics sold almost every month.

Jim Corrigan should come back as the Spectre. The Hal Jordan Spectre was horrible. John Ostrander's writing the Spectre in the 90's was the best.

@Dmon that whole lotto shtick was done a long time ago. Wally was working as a mechanic for the police department (although I can't remember what happened after the 2nd Waid run..let's not talk about it). He was just a regular, blue-collar guy with his family. That was one of the things that made him so cool.

@TwilightHunter The only way Wally would be the Flash in the movie would be in name only. They would combine Barry and Wally into one character.

Even though I loved the old Flash TV series as a kid, I always liked Wally West over Barry Allen. To me what made Wally's charcter and story so interesting was the fact that he was a former sidekick that had to take up the mantle of his fallen his mentor- who was also his Uncle. I think bringing back Barry was a mistake, it just cheapened the significance of his death.

@Dmon: Not nessacarily. What if they started The Flash movie with Barry's death? Then the focus of the story could be about the triumph of his replacement as in "The Mask Of Zorro".

That's the direction that I wish DC went with this DCnU Flash relaunch bussiness.

@TwilightHunter Nice name, lol. Sorry to burst your bubble, and I'm not declining anything, but I seriously doubt that since DC can't make a profitable Green Lantern movie, much less atleast a pilot episode for Wonder Woman, a Flash movie by 2014 is very, highly, unlikely. I mean if fans can't except a dude who can construct anything from his imagination from a ring, I really don't think they'll take a dude in full red with golden ears that can run at lighting speed and a dude with punk techno blue glasses with a freeze gun (Captain Cold) seriously. But it is DC, so It's up in the air.

Dmon - 2/18/2012, 7:08 PM
@DannyDreg Yeah but I felt like he never died. It always seemed including in the 90's that Wally thought he was not dead that he was lost some where like in the speed force, which it turned out he was, even though all the people around him said Barry was dead.

I think it will be great having Wally back, but I don't want him playing second to Barry Allen's Flash. Whatever the case I hope he gets to be the hero.
