Entertainment Weekly have exclusively revealed that Marvel are indeed planning a relaunch following the events of Avengers Vs. X-Men, confirming that the initiative will be called "Marvel NOW". According to Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso, this will take place between October and February as creators finish off their current runs and start their new ones. However, he was quick to stress that this is NOT a reboot in the style of DC's "The New 52". The following image shows Spider-Man, Hulk, Marvel Girl, Nova, Iron Man, Nick Fury, Captain America, Rocket Raccoon, Wolverine, Cyclops, Invisible Woman, Cable, and Thor.

The artist behind this teaser (and Chief Creator Officer of Marvel) Joe Quesada had this to say about the new looks for these characters. "There are some costume changes. There are some new character attitudes. Some characters may be changing their identities altogether. There’s a reason Sue Storm is there. And why there’s a floating robot near Hulk. We’re trying a lot of fun and new different things, we’re exposing characters who we’ve had in our toy chest for a long time."

UNCANNY AVENGERS

Following Avengers Vs. X-Men, Captain America will apparently decide that he hasn't done enough for the mutants over the years and this results in a new book from writer Rick Remender and artist John Cassaday. With a team including Cap, Thor, Wolverine and Havok, this is an exciting twist which will apparently see that latter, "become one of the biggest players in the Marvel Universe." Their first villain will be none other than the Red Skull! However, it won't be the version most recently seen in comics as the writer explains. "In 1943, Arnim Zola, who was this bio-fanatic engineer, recorded the Red Skull’s consciousness, and set it to wake up 70 years later. So the Red Skull [in Uncanny] is right out of 1943-44. Prime Nazi scumbag. In his mind, he’s taking that vitriol and hate and Nazi horror and methodology, and pointing it at the mutant species."

AVENGERS

"It’s not six Avengers, it’s 18 or more," teases writer Jonathan Hickman. The book will be pencilled by Jerome Opena, and the first arc will be entitled "Avengers World". Published twice a month, it will apparently tell five and six issue arcs as well as much smaller one-shot stories. There's currently no word on which heroes will make up the roster, but one of them WILL be Shang-Chi.

ALL-NEW X-MEN

"The X-Men is a tough nut to crack. There’s thousands of characters, all of which have a website dedicated just to them. I wanted to make sure I had a take that was unique," says series writer Brian Michael Bendis. As this is a time travel story, it will feature original X-Men, Cyclops, Iceman, Beast, Angel, and Marvel Girl. "Here’s the big question that the original X-Men are gonna be faced with: We’re gonna grow up, and this is what we’re going to get? That is not acceptable." Since her death in 2004, fans have been desperate to see the return of Jean Grey and that is obviously exactly what they'll get in this series. "It’s the one thing X-Men fans have always asked for is: They want Jean Grey back. But they want Jean Grey. Not reincarnated Jean, or the ghost of Jean. Well, you’re getting Jean back. And Jean is gonna be looking at a world that rattles her." Stuart Immonen has been confirmed as artist.

Sounds awesome but some of the concepts does remind me of the New 52.
TheAmazingSpidey63 - 7/3/2012, 1:54 PM
Soooo........Does this mean it's a reboot? Just wondering. God, I hope it ain't. Leave the bug MU as it is, Marvel. No need to reboot anything.

Stay EPIC, my friends!

Good to see this image in high res, I'm liking almost everyone, with the notable exceptions of Ironman (the color combination) and Nova (the helmet).

At first I thought that robot was Nova's sidekick not Hulk's. It's strange to see the Hulk well groomed, and with that armor and that robot something tells me he's going to space, pergaps in some sort of Planet Hulk continuation.

@TonyChu

Luckly for me they don't, on the contrary most of the New 52 redesigns were too stylized for my taste (I'm looking at you Superman).
TheAmazingSpidey63 - 7/3/2012, 1:57 PM
Just saying, not to offend anyone, but I do not like the costume change on Cap, Thor, and Hulk. Not really digging it. Hopefully it's for a short amount of time. Spider-Man seems okay to me. And is that Daredevil or Cyclops?
TheAmazingSpidey63 - 7/3/2012, 1:57 PM
@Dante - LoL, dude. ;P
HavocPrime - 7/3/2012, 2:00 PM
Sounds interesting, and yup, concept does smack of the New 52.
CBMM1 - 7/3/2012, 2:01 PM
It doesn't seem to be a reboot, just a reason to get new, fresh teams and groups together. The comics will probably either carry on the way they are, reset back to #1, are disappear completely. I just hope they don't touch The Amazing Spider-Man, its just startingto get good.

@TheAmazingSpidey63

;)

"However, he [Alex Alonso] was quick to stress that this is NOT a reboot in the style of DC's "The New 52".

And he is Cyclops, I'm almost sure that all that red is a reflection of his glowing visor, most probably his suit is black with red lines.
ATrueHero1987 - 7/3/2012, 2:01 PM
BS, this IS a response to the new 52!lol I'm serious but I want to check out The Avengers by Jonathan Hickman & The New X-Men by Bendis.
CBMM1 - 7/3/2012, 2:02 PM
@Intruder- THANK GOD!!!
NextHero08 - 7/3/2012, 2:02 PM
First Superman wears armor now the Hulk? THE HULK! and cyclops' outfit is lame...just lame.
DeadPoolLax - 7/3/2012, 2:03 PM
what character/s are they changing identities? is it like peter parker is deadpool and wade wilson is spiderman type thing, or totally new people? i guess every now and again you need to change things up so things dont get monotonous. understandable to a point.
goldenavenger77 - 7/3/2012, 2:03 PM
Not liking the Iron Man armor. For good or for worse... will have to see how this all plays out.
ghost157 - 7/3/2012, 2:03 PM
The Concept sorta the same to DC new 52 but unlike the new 52. Marvel won't rewrite the history of the characters or the world.

TheDARKestKNIGHT - 7/3/2012, 2:04 PM
Anyway they slice it, I smell reboot!
marvel72 - 7/3/2012, 2:04 PM

MB007 - 7/3/2012, 2:05 PM
Ha, some (almost) haven't changed at all, and others have changed dramaticly! :-)
BigHec - 7/3/2012, 2:06 PM
is it me or Hulk looks like he becomes the Juggernaunt
BarnaclePete - 7/3/2012, 2:09 PM
Anybody who doesn't think they are trying to cash in on what DC did is dreaming.
mawilli4 - 7/3/2012, 2:09 PM
If you read Flashpoint you know that it was the bridging point to their new universe. This seems like what Marvel is doing with AVX. I hope not. But we'll see. I hope they all comment on the costumes. Like I could see Deadpool going up to the Hulk and being like "what the [frick] are you supposed to be?"
TonyChu - 7/3/2012, 2:10 PM
Don't like Cyclops visor at all.
ATrueHero1987 - 7/3/2012, 2:13 PM
Cyclops costume is weird to me, sorry. His costume(before he got taken over by the Phoenix) was fine.
sianirudh94 - 7/3/2012, 2:13 PM
Anyone else notice how Spidey and Nova look like their crappy Ultimate Spider-man counterparts?
ATrueHero1987 - 7/3/2012, 2:17 PM
Marvel better have these available through subscription when these new titles come out!
ImTheCaptainOfThisShip - 7/3/2012, 2:19 PM

Deadpool101 - 7/3/2012, 2:32 PM
when did panther gat an iron man suit?? On the cover of the iron man comic that comes out tomorrow, shows tony in that suit
CaptainObvious - 7/3/2012, 2:35 PM
Please keep Spider-Man red and blue. There is no reason to change his costume. It's perfect the way it is.
marvel72 - 7/3/2012, 2:36 PM
nova looks like his actually eaten something,miles better than skinny nova.
Moakynubs - 7/3/2012, 2:36 PM
Iron Man better not stay that way though...
ATrueHero1987 - 7/3/2012, 2:37 PM
Not too worried. Some of these costumes are good. Others, will not stay that way.
Deadpool101 - 7/3/2012, 2:38 PM
