Why does Gamora look like a generic Mass Effect character?
Jollem - 10/13/2012, 5:53 PM
wow. using iron man, a character nobody cared about 4 years ago, to hype up tgotg. tgotg, who i am still trying to figure out which company put out their comics. i don't think it's dark horse

this calls for space sexiness...

Temple - 10/13/2012, 6:00 PM
Gottdammit bendis you failed me...I'm so sick and tired of bendis and Jeph Loebs shit. Bendis: Why is ironman on Gotg?! Why does everyone always have to have an arc reactor on them?! Why is Gamora in a spacesuit?! How is star lord alive?! How does star lord get blonde hair?! I wanna drop All new x men so bad, but my love for them...go [frick] yourself bendis.

Jeph Loeb: HE SUCKS AT EVERYTHING HE DOES IN LIFE. And if peter is alive, how come richard rider isn't alive?! Gotg and Nova returns, and we get two of the worst writers in history to write them. Damn shame, smh.
OrganizedChaos - 10/13/2012, 6:00 PM
for GOTG, Groot's design as well as Starlord's bother me. Where is his helmet? Why the hell is Iron Man there? I was excited about this series, but not anymore >:(
marvel72 - 10/13/2012, 6:00 PM
but february is so far away i need guardians of the galaxy 1 now.

as for nova like issue 2 cover but too me there is only one nova & his name is rich rider.
superotherside - 10/13/2012, 6:02 PM
Ummmm... why doesn't Star Lord have his mask on? And what is up with this new Nova kid? Where is Richard Rider. We need the REAL Nova!
SpideyNyC181 - 10/13/2012, 6:03 PM
these both look horrible
mawilli4 - 10/13/2012, 6:04 PM
Bendis fails. The art looks good and I'll give it a chance.. but I don't have high hopes after seeing Iron Man.
Asterisk - 10/13/2012, 6:07 PM
I love that Guardians cover.
exodus147 - 10/13/2012, 6:08 PM
Why is Tom Brady leading the Guardians of the Galaxy? Who's in the armor? Peyton Manning?
KaneVonDoom - 10/13/2012, 6:10 PM
I'll be interested to see where Marvel goes with these series. I'll definitely be giving them a whirl for the first few arcs
TheTaskmaster - 10/13/2012, 6:10 PM
This new Nova series is gonna suck. The art sucks Loeb sucks, the new Nova sucks. Bring back Rider. I just recently fell in love with GOTG and feel its one of the most underrated comic book arcs ever. Having said that this new series already looks dumb. Why is Iron Man on the team? Where is Star Lord's hat/helmet? And why are there arc reactors on a TREE? Both of these wreak of fail.
DaenerysTargaryen - 10/13/2012, 6:15 PM
*facepalm* Oh GOTG...you deserve better than this
JordanKing - 10/13/2012, 6:22 PM
Can't believe they have stuff Iron Man in their just to give the book a push. Again with the over saturation.
jimpinto24 - 10/13/2012, 6:23 PM
It's great that Nova is getting his own comic book series again. Still don't like the idea of Jeph Loeb being the writer of the Nova comics. I hope does a good job writing the comics.
superpooper - 10/13/2012, 6:28 PM
Kid Nova does suck. Why copy Shazam? Nova was fine the way he was
sciencefriction - 10/13/2012, 6:31 PM
God this all looks like such shit. What a disappointment. Enter Marvel's darkest hour- NOW!
DioFoRio - 10/13/2012, 6:34 PM
the StarLord helmet was a great design...you will be missed.
Kevinwillpeabodyproperties - 10/13/2012, 6:38 PM
They need to chill with iron man..... Give me more Thor
Keldor - 10/13/2012, 6:39 PM
BOOOO! WTF? HISSS! Lets molest some more of my sacred memories and moments!
inkslinger616 - 10/13/2012, 6:43 PM
I doubt Iron Man will be a permanent team member this is probably a guest appearance. Because it wouldn't make much sense otherwise...
PsyGuy - 10/13/2012, 6:48 PM
I bet this is similar to the movie lineup!
TheOverlord - 10/13/2012, 6:53 PM
Is that Tony Stark, or someone else in Stark tech?
space - 10/13/2012, 6:53 PM
Iron Man's in

Invincible Iron Man
Avengers
New Avengers
does A+X count?
Avengers Assemble
and now GOTG

He's almost as infectious as Wolverine now lol.
CaptainObvious - 10/13/2012, 6:56 PM
You lost me at Bendis.
Hellsboy - 10/13/2012, 7:05 PM
and the no one will read this comic award goes to wait for it...loeb!
JohnTom88 - 10/13/2012, 7:11 PM
They better use Darkhawk there instead of Iron Man
thalidomide - 10/13/2012, 7:19 PM
Lmao, I can't remember the last time grif posted several comments on one article :)
TheAbomination - 10/13/2012, 7:25 PM
I'm very skeptic of this new Guardians series. As a die-hard GOTG fan, issues 1-25 and the Thanos Imperative were the cream of the crop. I'm not sure if this new series can top that.
JohnTom88 - 10/13/2012, 7:41 PM
Nova is fine. The franchise is expanding like Green Lantern. Ok between kid Nova and the gun-toting Green Lantern who do you choose?

But GOTG just reeks stupidity and limited imagination from the guy named Bendis.

tantyangulo - 10/13/2012, 7:44 PM
No Adam Warlock? Still have faith he will be in the movie...
SanFranLand - 10/13/2012, 7:44 PM
UUUUUUGH.

This is the LAST STRAW. I was forced to create an account after seeing this.

I love ART. I love COMICS. But Marvel is straight up BLOWING IT.

This is my opinion only, but I feel Japanese anime has planted a seed of artistic destruction in western comics. DC seems to have not taken the bait quite as strong as our beloved Marvel. Of course Disney has come on board and has dumped out Super Hero Squad upon the unsuspecting children coming into the world who will now know this as a representation of classic characters. In an article upon first buying Marvel, Disney made it priority number ONE to "educate" the non-comic public of lesser known characters so we get Squad, the horrible anime cartoons, this Hulk show, and the super kiddy Spider-Man cartoon.

Don't get me wrong, I am down for a reboot, as soft or hard as they wanna do, with Marvel NOW!, but this is CLEARLY THE WRONG DIRECTION.

MARVEL, DISNEY......KEEP SIGHT OF THE ART IN THESE BOOKS.

These are not only for kids. Even then, kids grow up and appreciate the books and stories that don't dumb them down and talk down to them.

Nova? Kid Avengers? COME ON. This is going too far down the drain.

Bring the integrity and ART back to this dying (by your own sword) art form.
eleven59 - 10/13/2012, 7:44 PM
Maybe kid nova will become an adult when he morphs..., I mean puts on the helmet.... Lol

If the movie was coming out next year I'd say they were setting up nova to be in it, but that's still 2 yrs away...
JohnTom88 - 10/13/2012, 7:52 PM
What's wrong with some international/Japanese influence? Anime influence is what the original Nova (Richard Rider) helmet looks cool.
JohnTom88 - 10/13/2012, 7:57 PM
@starscream9289 Well maybe there is the writer's factor, but Sam Alexander as the new character doesn't condemn the book is going to suck. Nova franchise certainly needs expansion and the best time to develop an alternative character is when Richard Rider is gone temporarily.
Superman61 - 10/13/2012, 8:19 PM
So, since it is reported that the visual appearances are getting updated for the movie and McNiven said starlord isn't wearing a helmet much anymore in the book, is this the direction they are taking for the movie?
TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM - 10/13/2012, 8:29 PM
What is Loeb's obsession with wanting to make everything kiddy? I smell a Pedophile....
CPBuff22 - 10/13/2012, 8:29 PM
TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM - 10/13/2012, 8:30 PM
Other than that, GOTG looks good, Starlord needs his helmet though!
