Despite the recent "Marvel NOW!" initiative (which saw the launch of several new #1 issues and creative team shake up's), there have been rumblings of some sort of reboot or relaunch for a while now. It certainly worked for DC, and with more and more people finding their way to the comics thanks to the success of the Marvel Studios movies, it might happen sooner than we think if the following teaser is any indication! While it could mean many things, this is certainly a possibility, don't you think? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts in the usual place.

Begin with the best super heroes in comics--Marvel does it FIRST!!

HUGE story coming soon to fans, worldwide.

First! Get it, first :P
Zorrgoth - 2/25/2013, 6:32 AM
Would be a little ridiculous since the JUST redid so many characters already. BUT, if they do it, the need to bring Peter Parker back.
BIGGGHEADTJ - 2/25/2013, 6:32 AM
SMH to many reboots are going on
BboiBlack - 2/25/2013, 6:33 AM
Marvel and their events.
Enough already.
jimoakley666 - 2/25/2013, 6:33 AM
Oh, for [frick]'s sake, I hope not.
BlakeUsmcVet - 2/25/2013, 6:35 AM
I'll stick with DC.
BrandoCalrissian - 2/25/2013, 6:35 AM
It's not a reboot. No way. It wouldn't make sense to do anything drastic like that right after Marvel NOW. Plus, unless they're rebooting with years of continuity intact... which isn't much of a reboot... I'm pretty sure Winter Soldier wouldn't be listed, along with some other new-ish creations on there.

If it's a reboot of ANY sort, I could see it being the successor to the Ultimate line.
superotherside - 2/25/2013, 6:35 AM
Ummmm... Marvel. Just so you know, your books don't need a reboot. Just Spider-man does.
GuardianAngel - 2/25/2013, 6:40 AM
What the [frick] was the point of Marvel NOW????
Zordan - 2/25/2013, 6:40 AM
I will become Marvel fan if they reboot everything,
j2cool2 - 2/25/2013, 6:41 AM
Marvel NOW! didn't reboot or redo anything. Why do people keep saying that. It's just an evolution, in some cases, and rearrangement of the characters, but nothing Marvel hasn't done before. If this reboot is true it gives fuel to the rumor of the merging of the 616 and ultimate universes. :(
BrandoCalrissian - 2/25/2013, 6:42 AM
Don't get too crazy, this WON'T be a reboot!

I think it's more likely this is a universe-spanning new series.
Christuffer - 2/25/2013, 6:47 AM
Facts:
- Quite a few series are closing out, and random ones not to mention.
- Marvel Now! would not be wasted, this could be a part of it
- Almost all of the Marvel Now! series are NOT reboots or remakes or restarts. In fact, almost every single one of them is a continuation stemming from the events of "AvX" and the remnants of the 616 Universe. These new titles that have restarted are just new beginnings for the same old characters.

Now, once they keep 'Superior Spider-Man' on shelves and also bring out a brand new Spider-Man comic....you all have my permission to feel like ASSHATS
Christuffer - 2/25/2013, 6:48 AM
And building on what @j2cool2 said, the comics now say "ReEvolution" on them. It's a Revolution and an Evolution of these characters. Get with the program people
Tymminator - 2/25/2013, 6:52 AM
Eight years ago, I would have been really against a Marvel reboot, now it's probably the only way I would get back into a lot of their books again.

Depends how it's done. New 52 has a few cool things, but I hated what happened to a few characters, lke Starfire or the Titans history for example.
pepe - 2/25/2013, 6:55 AM
Reboot the reboot
TheAcidSkull - 2/25/2013, 6:57 AM
[frick], i how this is not the case
Shadowelfz - 2/25/2013, 7:00 AM
Marvel does it first? But DC came out first, reconned their comics first and did their reboot first, so...

Whatever if they use this opportunity to drop the horseshirt that is Mehvals current continuity and start afresh then I will be fine with it. Id love to be able to read marvel again.
Shamo - 2/25/2013, 7:05 AM
it's obviously not a reboot. they wouldn't reboot their verse when their outselling DC that would make no sense. its most likely another renumbering to create new starting points for their shit series.
Bucht - 2/25/2013, 7:08 AM
The Age of Ultron description starts to make sense now:
"With the robotic revolution in full force, no fan can miss how Age of Ultron will ultimately change the Marvel Universe leaving no hero or villain unscathed!"
ATrueHero1987 - 2/25/2013, 7:08 AM
Maybe Dr. Strange & Black Panther will get new ongoing series....idk
TimJude72 - 2/25/2013, 7:10 AM
I'll wait for the trade.
BrandoCalrissian - 2/25/2013, 7:11 AM
"The Age of Ultron description starts to make sense now:
"With the robotic revolution in full force, no fan can miss how Age of Ultron will ultimately change the Marvel Universe leaving no hero or villain unscathed!" "

Ha, they ALWAYS say that crap though.
DanteSparda - 2/25/2013, 7:15 AM
I don't think is a reboot of any sort, perhaps is just an omnibus of every Marvel Now first issues or something like that.
Super12 - 2/25/2013, 7:17 AM
I'll say it again...

DC innovates. Marvel imitates.

(Not saying either is better though! I don't think Marvel should subject the entire comic book industry to all new #1's)
superotherside - 2/25/2013, 7:22 AM
If this makes Dan Slott stop writng Spidey then I may be ok with it though. Just undo OMD and Superior Spider-man then everything will be ok. IMO.
CavEl - 2/25/2013, 7:23 AM
Ha!!!! Suck it trolls!
ToTheManInTheColdSweat - 2/25/2013, 7:24 AM
lmbo!!!

splenda

mxyzptlk - 2/25/2013, 7:28 AM
oh crap, come on....give us a break...if you are planning on doing that, then why the hell did you do Marvel Now????
PenditaMarah - 2/25/2013, 7:30 AM
Reboot the marvel.
Too many crapness in marvel comics since 5 years ago.
I will be the happiest guy on earth if the followed the 'new 52' things.
TexasTwoFace - 2/25/2013, 7:32 AM
I don't think so. All these years of gloating over DC about their unbroken continuity and then they just go ahead and copy them? No reboot, if you want a less complicated history then that's what Ultimate universe is for.
CavEl - 2/25/2013, 7:35 AM
@ Super7 - I've been saying that for years, DC innovates to Marvel's imitation.
DangerRoom - 2/25/2013, 7:36 AM
They better not.
BrandoCalrissian - 2/25/2013, 7:36 AM
What a shitty headline, Josh. And shame on everyone else for not just reading that it's stupid speculation on your part.
IronHood - 2/25/2013, 7:37 AM
Wasp?
Crossbones - 2/25/2013, 7:38 AM
Super12: If that's the case then Injustice Gods Among Us is pretty much DC's version of the Civil War that happened with Marvel. Can't really say Marvel imitates. Plus, I'm of the opinion that anything DC can do, Marvel does it better.
DanteSparda - 2/25/2013, 7:42 AM
@BrandoCalrissian

I agree, I don't think Marvel will reboot their characters ever, if it worked for DC it's because it needed it, just look at the sales of both company comics.
dancingmonkey08 - 2/25/2013, 7:43 AM
why? I thought that was the point of Marvel Now. Keep the original continuity but refresh the Marvel Universe. Why a stupid reboot now?
Superguy15 - 2/25/2013, 7:45 AM
I thought Marvel NOW was their NEW 52. I know it's not a reboot, but...
ckal - 2/25/2013, 7:49 AM
After Age of Ultron, Marvel will move on from the 616 universe to a new one.

UVLantern - 2/25/2013, 7:50 AM
Am I the only one that sees the word "poop" in this?
vtopa - 2/25/2013, 7:51 AM
GOOD! Now they can bring back the REAL NOVA...RICH RIDER!
ToTheManInTheColdSweat - 2/25/2013, 7:54 AM
lizard1

umm, you do know that civil war is marvel's version of DC's kingdom come.
silverdog - 2/25/2013, 7:59 AM
if they are "season one" type of comics with the first appearences and origin stories of those characters, bring it. both marvel, and DC (and the other companies) need to reset their stories and universes from time to time to create "jumping points" for the new readers. not the first, not the last time is going to happen.
Shadowmaster35 - 2/25/2013, 8:00 AM
@UVLantern lol it's Doop dude. lol Funny as hell tho.

And New Event doesn't mean reboot just means another probably mediocore story event. Wish some people would stop trying to put 2and2 together to get 9.
ComradeGrey - 2/25/2013, 8:03 AM
They should do this every year. Complete universal reboot of all story lines.

They should also pull a 2000AD and publish a magazine full of stories instead of overpriced fanboy fetish items that make it way less morally compromising to pirate comics.
darkdroid499 - 2/25/2013, 8:05 AM
FFS, SO WHAT WAS THE POINT OF MARVEL NOW THEN??!!
ACira - 2/25/2013, 8:07 AM
To be fair, this would be Marvel's first true reboot (not counting Ultimate as that was a reimagining/side-project). If done well and it remains faithful to the spirit of the characters and important elements of the mythos, then go for it.

DC reboots their comics all the time, usually after a Crisis storyline. I'm not sure why the New 52 gets so much flack for rebooting since they do it all the time.
Darkhaven - 2/25/2013, 8:10 AM
@BrandoCalrissian:

"What a shitty headline, Josh. And shame on everyone else for not just reading that it's stupid speculation on your part."

Literacy amongst the masses doesn't guarantee they'll read, or even comprehend what they read. Sensationalism and speculation are the new intellectualism.

Why else would some posters here still insist Marvel Now is "the new 52"? Once they "learn" about one thing, anything that shares a commonality will always remain the same in their minds, so they have zero need to "learn" anything further.
Crossbones - 2/25/2013, 8:11 AM
ToTheManInColdSweat: They have similarities. Big deal. Again, I am of the opinion that anything DC does (whether similarities in stories or characters) Marvel does better. That also translated to their movies as well. Also, while we are on this topic (and by no means do Intend a flame war with the things I have said but) Thanos isn't a Darkseid ripoff. Darkseid Inspired Thanos. Big difference. Everyone has their preference. I prefer Marvel. If a fan of one bashes a fan of the other or their favored company, a flame war will start. You may prefer Kingdom Come and I prefer Civil War. Doesn't mean we're right. Why can't we respectfully disagree on this site? Cause I disagree with many on here. But, as with this, I do so with respect.
