This is obviously some very exciting news, but we're now forced to wonder whether or not this means that the series takes place in the same world as Batman Vs. Superman. It certainly would be the most sensible option, but you never know! Don't get your hopes up that we'll see any costumes though...at least not immediately. It was also revealed at the panel that the series will focus on younger versions of the villains, building to what they eventually become. What do you guys think?

Nick56 - 1/13/2014, 11:56 AM
Hmmm...wasn't this supposed to be just about Gordon or was that just a rumour? But I guess this is cooler! Now do they mean last episode of season 1 or the end of the series as a whole? Because I really don't want to see 9 seasons of Bruce becoming Batman and only wearing the suit for 2 minutes at the end
elcaballerooscuro92 - 1/13/2014, 11:57 AM
i loved smallville but i don't know if i can wait another ten seasons to see bruce as batman in this show.
JayJayCAW - 1/13/2014, 11:57 AM

Isn't this the Batman version of Smallville
TonyChu - 1/13/2014, 11:57 AM
Now this show has peaked my interest. I loved the Gotham Central series when it was running so hopefully it takes some inspiration from the series.
Mendenhall12 - 1/13/2014, 12:01 PM
Sound awesome!
krylonshadow - 1/13/2014, 12:02 PM
Ignorant writers. More [frick]ing origin stories? Christ. Also, this premise sounds too much like Smallville, which, while it had it's moments, was often hilariously bad. In fact, the reason Arrow is good is because it is extremely careful about NOT pulling a Smallville. There needs to be something substantial going on parallel to the origin story, a la overarching storylines involving many other characters. Make this show more about Gordon and Gotham PD or take your script back to the shop. Oh, but don't pull an AoS either where it's just a bunch of Gotham PD running around solving silly crimes.
Nomis - 1/13/2014, 12:03 PM
Cool.

I always wondered why they didn't follow up Smallville with a series like this.
crucifier - 1/13/2014, 12:03 PM
Oh, no, please NOOO!

First came Smallville (no comments), then Arrow which is a mixture of Smallville and Batman Begins...

...and instead of learning from their mistakes THEIR MAKING THE SAME ONE, WITH THE G'DAM BATMAN THIS TIME!
JoeMomma29 - 1/13/2014, 12:03 PM
Wow I hope this is true.
BaneSmash - 1/13/2014, 12:03 PM

As long as this isnt Smallville and he DOESNT FIGHT EVERY [frick]ING VILLAIN BEFORE HE GETS IN THE SUIT.....then sure. I dont care anymore.

Minghagz - 1/13/2014, 12:11 PM
So all the villains are going to be much older than Batman. Understandable for some or most but... Catwoman?

Anyway, can't wait for the show.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 1/13/2014, 12:12 PM
If it's Affleck that would be awesome.
MrReese - 1/13/2014, 12:12 PM
Already sounds better than AoS. ;)
DestroyerofHaters - 1/13/2014, 12:12 PM
I hope this continues to lead to the success of Comics on TV. Things just keep getting better.
dutchman - 1/13/2014, 12:13 PM
Sweeet jesus yeah
ALmight - 1/13/2014, 12:13 PM
So Smallville? We are going to have to watch 9 or 10 seasons to see Batman?
MercwithMouth - 1/13/2014, 12:15 PM
Wasn't this show supposed to be about Jim Gordan and Gotham PD? Showing the city before Batman? I like the idea of showing Batman's origin, but I hope Bruce Wayne is just a recurring character, not a main character.
patrat18 - 1/13/2014, 12:15 PM
[frick] yes.
Malcopunch - 1/13/2014, 12:16 PM
@ALmight As long as it has good writing i will be happy..
