Thank god Bendis took over X-Men and is far away from my Avengers. His childish banter suits those X-Losers. If only he would get bored already and leave GotG...
Alfredo27 - 1/16/2014, 6:47 AM
why is a 1960's Iceman singing a rap song from the 80s?
ATrueHero1987 - 1/16/2014, 6:47 AM
Ha @ the 2nd cover with Drax & Iceman
KrazyForKomix - 1/16/2014, 6:48 AM
LOVE the 3rd cover! At least it has comics fun designed into it (not like all these movie wannabe posters that pass for covers these days. Posing! That's all we get today . . . posing.
Jollem - 1/16/2014, 6:54 AM
i like monkey beast :)

repetitive panel shots like these always serve for good comedic moments

jimoakley666 - 1/16/2014, 7:00 AM
I love that Iceman panel. Brilliant. But, in the current timeline, wouldn't the original X-Men be from the late 90's? Beast's older than the other four by five years or so and he's supposed to be 35 in the present, right?
Cles - 1/16/2014, 7:00 AM
@Magus I agree about the banter in Avengers, but when applied to Spider-Man against the dynamic of the rest of the group, he would have me rolling.
jimoakley666 - 1/16/2014, 7:00 AM
Love Immonen's work too.
Bl00dwerK - 1/16/2014, 7:02 AM
I actually like Jeen, and I've never liked Jean Grey before...
Jollem - 1/16/2014, 7:11 AM
well, bendis is always good for the snappy banter, just like whedon
Nomis - 1/16/2014, 7:14 AM
Gawd, this is Horrible! The X-Men comics may be at an ALL Time LOW!
ChuckV - 1/16/2014, 7:16 AM
Let me get this straight -- now there are TWO VERSIONS of the original X-Men in the same timeline??? And Jean Grey once more has to answer for her crimes as Phoenix... hasn't this been done before??? SMH, the X-Men used to be so easy to read and enjoy!!!
Jollem - 1/16/2014, 7:20 AM
and Nonis is always good for extreme hyperbole :)
Alfredo27 - 1/16/2014, 7:25 AM
these original xmen arent from the 90s lmao they are from the 1960s
jlabatman - 1/16/2014, 7:34 AM
Always have been an Immonen fan, this storyline looks interesting, but then again so did AvX!
marvel72 - 1/16/2014, 7:36 AM
i would like to see hickman write the x-men after he is done with the avengers.
KaneRomita - 1/16/2014, 7:36 AM
Bendis has no original ideas.. He pads out his comics with dialogue that goes nowhere. Have you ever noticed he spends 8 pages on characters meeting each other.. How many times have you read this exchange?
"Scott.? I..."
"Is it.. Can I..?"
"Wow.. Just.... wow.."

And yet everyone thinks he's the greatest writer..

Here's something else.. If you take someone from the past then you have CHANGED the past.. So when that person comes to the future they are seeing a world that HASN'T HAD THEM IN IT. Doesn't anyone remember Yesterday's Enterprise.?
Jollem - 1/16/2014, 7:40 AM
as far as a story/ideas man, bendis has been kicking ass for quite some time now. always liked his dialogue, too
Nomis - 1/16/2014, 7:45 AM
@ marvel72 - Now that I can Get with!

Johnathan Hickman is the best Writer MARVELl has at the moment!

And this Story has been done before! Seriously Bendis, You're going to rip off one of the most FAMOUS X_MEN STORIES IN HISTROY ???????

Bendis was..."okay" at one time..now he's just a hack!
astromerc - 1/16/2014, 7:46 AM
@beto - hater
richardhole - 1/16/2014, 7:50 AM
Cry babies, cry babies, suck your thumbs... that is for all the whining going on here. If some of you have such brilliant ideas that could make things soooo much better, why aren't you guys writing comics?

... crickets... all I hear is crickets...

Battabing - 1/16/2014, 7:53 AM
Jean Grey is such an annoying bitch.

"RAAAAAH!! STOP THINKING AT ME!! RAAAAAH!! DON'T TALK TO ME!!"

Obvious ginger bitch being obvious.
Jollem - 1/16/2014, 7:56 AM
bendis was "okay" and is now a "hack"?

PunPun - 1/16/2014, 7:56 AM
Wonder if Phoenix could have sex with me with her mind. I'd consider it, but she betta have a skinny waste and flat ass or I don't want no parta that shit.
ATrueHero1987 - 1/16/2014, 7:56 AM
@marvel72 Got any new Omnibus collections lately??
jlabatman - 1/16/2014, 8:02 AM
Bendis on Daredevil was pretty damn good!
Namor - 1/16/2014, 8:11 AM
Shit is dumb.. I don't read comics anymore. I only care about the comic movies. Look at how childish they look..lol The art is so terrible nowadays.
MsDarkPhoenix - 1/16/2014, 8:31 AM

Nomis - 1/16/2014, 8:40 AM
@ marvel72 - Not yet but a lot of people have recommended his FF to me. What Hickman is doing with the Avengers and Secret Avengers is fantastic! Solid!

@ jlabatman - Bendis Daredevil was just rehashed Frank Miller stuff from the '80s. He wasn't the first writer to "out" Matt Murdock to the public.
LoudLon - 1/16/2014, 8:40 AM
Who knew it? Iceman's a Run DMC fan. Most novel thing I've seen from the X-Men in a while.
Bl00dwerK - 1/16/2014, 8:45 AM
I don't think Bendis is that great, but I love the X-Men so I keep reading...
xstryker - 1/16/2014, 8:47 AM
Bendis ruined the X-Men. I could do better but I don't want a lousy comics writers salary.
marvel72 - 1/16/2014, 9:01 AM
@ nomis

he writes new avengers as well.
FantasticSpidey - 1/16/2014, 9:24 AM
Not sure I dig the whole Power Ranger/Voltron colored suits thing.

The X-Men should be suited up with similar suits/colors, they are a team after all.
Kyatollah - 1/16/2014, 9:26 AM
1. While I agree that his style may not work for every character in the Marvel Universe, Bendis is still my favorite comic writer, because he knows how to make things FUN. Look at the influence that Ultimate Spider-Man has had. You have to remember this is a younger team learning to fit into today's world. Why the hell wouldn't he be able to pull that off?

And I'm sorry. Singing "It's Tricky" by Run DMC while making a snow angel might be the best thing Iceman has ever done.
xstryker - 1/16/2014, 9:29 AM
So many Bendis fans love his X-Men run, so many X-Men fans hate it. Reminds me of the people who liked Keanu in Constantine.
xstryker - 1/16/2014, 9:32 AM
I mean, if you're a Bendis fan, you're in luck, because the characters all talk and act like Bendis characters. Plenty of coffee banter type scenes. If you actually liked any of these characters before though, too bad. They've been rewritten as Bendis-tropes.
Humperdink - 1/16/2014, 9:36 AM
@Nomis

John Byrne. Maaaaannnnnnn.
He may be a mad tyrant in person but the man's work is absolutely timeless.

Just completely solid.

Come on now man, you know comic time is all screwey and doesn't run the same way our real time works.
