Speculated on several occasions, until the developing cast were being announced, a new outset may reveal that the villainous Dr. Hugo Strange will be appearing in Christopher Nolan's long-awaited The Dark Knight Rises film. In a production update via My Entertainment World, the site offers the following:

DARK KNIGHT RISES, THE (aka MAGNUS REX & FOX HILLS GREEN) - Mid June, 2011 - India & London, UK & New York, NY & Pittsburgh, PA; Details Are only Available By Subscription.. STORY: As Batman deals with his new status as a wanted vigilante, Dr. Hugo Strange, a villainous psychiatrist, concocts a plan to destroy him and become the new Batman. (Posted: June 17, 2010. Revised: April 11, 2011)

While the validity of the site is questionable, the productions opposite TDKR are verily accurate. And also, with the confirmed villains appearing in the film, Hugo Strange's "plan" could easily involve Bane, Catwoman, Talia al Ghul and even Alberto Falcone. And it's also known there will be a vintage villain. Anyhow, take it with a grain of salt, as production gears up this summer.

I theory I have, if Hugo doesn't appear, at least by name, his motive of wanting to be Batman could be mixed with one of the other new confirmed characters. What do you think?

Anyhow, starring Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Caine, Josh Pence and Marion Cotillard rumored, The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20, next year!
