The best performance in a comic book movie ever. Everyone and their mother hated the casting and yet he was not only good, he was legendarily. He did Joker better than Jack. There will never be a performance as good as Heath's Joker. He earned that Oscar.

The best performance in comic book movie history in the best movie in comic book movie history.

Heath was an amazing actor. It sucks too that it took his death for a lot of people to notice him.

I know I'll never forget his Joker.

@LEVITIKUZ For some reason I was the only one out of the people I knew that had a feeling he was gonna be great from the second they casted him. I mean, I had faith in Nolan after Begins so I figured he knew what he was doing.

Now that is dedication, amazing performance, amazing actor, and an amazing movie. R.I.P MR Ledger.

The one actor that made made the TDK trilogy a hit with the public.

I still like Nicholson's Joker better. He was alot more entertaining.

Kind of like how RDJ made the Iron Man trilogy a hit with the public...

Yep Khan is putting old good work. May have to come back and start writing more articles. Can't let him take all of these.

great find Khan.

It's really cool, but also very sad.
Cool for the fans, sad for his family.
Heath went to really dark places in this one.
Imagine him acting like that for most of the time while filming the movie. Eckhart said recently that during the hospital scene he was the Joker for about an hour before they started filming. Imagine him been the Joker almost 4 - 6 hours (if not more) per day. This + his level of dedication ... it's devastating.

In one of the interviews Heath said (about the Joker)
"He thinks AIDS funny"

That basically sum up his character for me.

it should be published and the proceeds go to ledger's parents and daughter.

Jollem right. TDK wasn't a movie for everyone. Still, even if someone didn't like the movie, he/she was praising Heath performance in it anyway.
TheRationalNerd

I always think that if Heath never passed away he would've been able to team up with scarecrow for a nod to the Knightfall saga in The Dark Knight Rises.

Just imagine the thought of having Joker's laughing gas and Scarecrow's fear gas both rumbling the streets of Gotham, plus Bane still going toe to toe with bats!

jerryblake
jerryblake - 5/30/2013, 8:54 PM
For some people Heath's performance as the Joker was the only thing that saved the movie.
TheRationalNerd
TheRationalNerd - 5/30/2013, 8:58 PM
Do you guys think that Heath's joker can be topped after a performance like that?

If so what do you think the next joker should look/act like.

More wacko and silly like the Arkham games and Batman Animated series??

Or a psychopathic serial killer who adds in theatrical flavor for the hell of it?

Knightrider

Yeah, I think there is no doubting that this was a great performance, and one that'll be remembered for years to come

You know when people say the Dark Knight wouldn't have been anything without "heath ledgers death hype", they are at least partly right. Well their sentence is at least partly right. The Dark Knight wouldn't have been as good as it was without Heath Ledger. But he was in it, and it is fantastic, and he will be remembered as one of the greatest actors of all time for it, and other roles, plain and simple.

Am I the only one who found the "Bye Bye" at the end of the journal REALLY sad? Because it was...
Rest in Peace Heath Ledger. You were a phenomenal actor who deserved to have a longer life and career. Imagine where he'd be now if he had lived.
jerryblake
jerryblake - 5/30/2013, 9:11 PM
@TheBlackWolverine

more serial killer type, i guess. The kind of person who can take out anyone really close to Bruce, only to make Batman collapse.
I could see him killing Jason Todd, and making Barbara Gordon disabled in the same movie.
Luigi

Wow. I literally just watched this on youtube, came here and here it is.

Ah, the Dark Kgnight; The reason why the average CBM has a hard time reaching a new level of movie making. If they aim higher and step their game up, maybe they can get their head from under the boot of THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY.

I feel bad for the guy who takes on Joker next. Not because I don't think he can top Ledger but because of the crazed Ledger fans who will bash anyone who isn't Heath's Joker.
