Rebooting the DC Universe: Infinity Inc. Rebooting the DC Universe: Infinity Inc.

In the installment of Rebooting the DC Universe, I'll be giving you my take on Infinity Inc. I'll take you step by step through the creation of the team and why each hero was brought into the group.

In my new rebooted DC Universe, many heroes who only had minor roles in pre-Flash Point era DC, would have a much larger role in my rebooted universe. Infinity Inc would be the perfect launching point for these heroes.

Infinity Inc is created by John Henry Irons aka Steel as a team in order to teach young or new heroes how to work with others and to better develop their skills and powers. Irons has added a sub level to his Steel Works laboratory to act as the base of operations for Infinity Inc. Included in the base is a training room similar to the X-Men's Danger room, highly advanced computers with alien technology and links to the Justice League and Titans' computers. Joining Irons as co-founder is Professor Martin Stein the original Firestorm. Together the two recruit Iron's niece, Natasha aka Vapor Lock.

Vapor Lock has the power to transform her body into gas. When she's not in her gaseous form, she's either in her normal human form or in her "Steel" armor which is constructed using a combination of John Iron's Steel tech and nano-tech. Natasha brings along her boyfriend Mitch Anderson.

Mitch Anderson aka Outburst became a hero after he and his family were saved from Doomsday by Superman, and his Meta powers developed. He began his hero career by trying to become Superman's side kick but was eventually recruited by Lex Luthor as the leader of the Supermen of America. Outburst worked inside Luthor's team and gained his trust in order to bring him down. By working so closely to Luthor and eventually becoming his left hand, Outburst was able to gather enough evidence to have Luthor arrested with the aid of Superman. It was this event that brought him to the attention of John Henry Irons and convinced him to invite his niece's boyfriend into the team as co-leader of the team side by side with Vapor Lock.

Next, Irons recruits Stephani Brown aka Spoiler. Brown has a history of working within the Batman family as Spoiler, Robin and Batgirl; this makes her the perfect candidate. With her experience working alongside one of the greatest tactical minds of the 21st century, she's been recruited as field commander for the team and combat adviser during training.

Static is the next to be recruited. During his time as a solo hero and working with the Teen Titans, he came to the attention of Irons and after working side by side with John Stewart, Irons made him one of his top picks.

As a personal favor to Wonder Woman, Irons and Stein recruit Nu'bia. Nu'bia is the sister of Diana, born when an Egyptian God made his way to Themiscira disguised as Zeus he made love to Hypolita and eventually Nu'bia was born. Being that Nu'bia's skin color was completely different than the other Amazons, Hypolita knew she had been tricked but still loved Nu'bia the same as Diana and Donna. The other Amazons however didn't see her as a true Amazon let alone a princess, so Diana and Donna both took to training her to fight and became not only her sisters by blood but also through friendship. Nu'bia took the name Amazon when she joined Infinity Inc and hoped to develop friendships and a since of belonging like her sisters had.

Being the newest Green Lantern, Simon was introduced to Infinity Inc via the other Earth bound Green Lanterns in order to teach him how to work with a team. Simon quickly becomes the loner of the group, feeling as an outsider he usually remains off to the side when at home base listening to conversations but rarely interacting.

Finally, Martin Stein recruits the Wonder Twins, Zan and Jayna because of his time working with them in the Justice League. Feeling they had a lot to contribute but at the same time alot of growing up to do, Stein hopes they find their footing within the group.

The members of Infinity Inc don't just work out of the base underneath Steel Works, but also live there. When not fighting criminals and super villains; they are usually found either training, relaxing or working as lab assistance in the Steel Works Lab.

It was important to me to make this a diverse team not just personalities but also ethnic. Neither Marvel nor DC have yet to create a primarily Ethnic Superhero team. It brings an interesting perspective to have a group that made almost entirely of the same ethnicity that usually only makes up one or two members of a team. I believe that having a team like this in comics will not only give actual ethnics idols to look up to, but would have an important impact on the media within the DCU and other superhero groups.

Until next time faithful readers, when I'll be bringing you my reboot of Wonder Woman.
