For the past few months, ever since rumors first surfaced of Nightwing making an appearance on CW's Arrow series, Steven R McQueen of CW's The Vampire Diaries has been giving subtle hints at already being cast in the role. Although it could be more wishful thinking from the actor's perspective than anything concrete. In the past month however he has increased the 'easter eggs' on his Twitter account by retweeting Scott Snyder's Batman quotes and images, and by uploading images of DC Comic book titles. The latest image that caught fans attention was when on June 5th, 2014 he uploaded an image of himself with Arrow's lead actor Stephen Amell, at a LA Kings game with the subtitle "#arrow #nightwing #golakings".

@steven_r_mcqueen: "#arrow #nightwing #golakings"

Again, this could be more wishful thinking by the young actor, as his schedule with The Vampire Diaries in New Orleans is quite overbooked as of yet. However, taking into consideration what had transpired in the season finale of Arrow, the concept of Nightwing coming to Starling City to face The League of Assassins and the return of Malcom Merilyn with Thea Queen has become a probable journey the writers could choose to take Oliver Queen in.

It'll probably be like the Harley Quinn thing where it gets really hyped and ends ups to something small.
Arrowhead77 - 6/5/2014, 6:11 AM
It would be pretty damn awesome!

He's flying through the air with the greatest of ease!

A daring young man on the Flying Trapeze!

So.. Is his mentor Ben Affleck or what?
CherryBomb - 6/5/2014, 6:20 AM
Nah, I think he's just still campaigning for the role.

But yeah it would be cool, this is why I want two separate universes for The CW and the DCCU.
Because we could get CW Nightwing and Barbara/Oracle or something.

Not enough people watch the CW for them to have much success at merging film and tv universes.
shabat - 6/5/2014, 6:20 AM
That'd be really cool.
shabat - 6/5/2014, 6:21 AM
The more and more I think about it, I agree @Cherry. I used to want them to merge the TV and Movieverses, but they need to be separate.

Speaking of The Vampire Diaries
someone desperately needs to cast Claire Holt in a CBM role. Film or TV I don't care just make it happen.

Better be true. Nightwing better be a series regular too. Not just a cameo. The Vampire Diaries can find someone else.

A nightwing series would be epic....Since we are passsing around fan films today, anyone see Grayson?
