Ben Affleck is now in Detroit with the likes of Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot to begin his filming for the highly anticipated BATMAN VS SUPERMAN. Affleck was tracked down by a local Detroit CBS news affiliate, where they found him working out at a local gym visibly spent after an intense workout. For months now Affleck has been logging in serious time at the gym and with cameras ready to roll it's clear that he has taken the challenge of filling out the famed cape and cowl very seriously.

Nomis - 5/18/2014, 7:48 PM
Man he has seriously buffed up!
LordBlackjack - 5/18/2014, 7:49 PM
He is huge. Can't wait for more pictures!!!
merrillmind - 5/18/2014, 7:50 PM
Considering that Affleck has that famous chin-up scene from "The Town", I'm guessing we will see a scarred but muscled out shirtless Bruce Wayne at some point in this film to show off all the intense body building he's done.
Nomis - 5/18/2014, 7:55 PM
Hopefully we will be getting a look at the suit in color soon!

LewisD - 5/18/2014, 7:56 PM
I'm sorry, but someone playing Bruce Wayne/Batman needs more size and muscular definition. Ben Affleck has the build of an ordinary run of the mill gym rat, not someone who has spent years hunting criminals in Gotham City. Between Batfleck and the skinny Wonder Woman, I'm really disappointed with the casting.
Nomis - 5/18/2014, 7:57 PM
@ GoldenOne33 - He looks Fat to you?
AlexanderLykins - 5/18/2014, 7:57 PM
Nice to see him in Detroit.
reece1485 - 5/18/2014, 7:58 PM
lewis , was cristian bale bigger? no but he did a good job
SuperCat - 5/18/2014, 8:00 PM
Just hoping he's not bigger than Supes.
merrillmind - 5/18/2014, 8:00 PM

Just for context on how "Big Ben" is stacking up against the other jacked actors playing superheroes, here's Chris Hemsworth off set the other day during some down time from filming Avengers: AOU

AlexanderLykins - 5/18/2014, 8:01 PM
That's not fat, it's pure bulk. I wear my muscle similar, but I have a gut. If you look at Ben, he has a waist similar to that of Chris Pratt. So while they look a bit wide, it's all muscle.
AlexanderLykins - 5/18/2014, 8:02 PM
Hemsworth has bulk and tone.
merrillmind - 5/18/2014, 8:04 PM
I pity the actor who has to reboot Thor someday, Hemsworth has made the big screen version of Odinson larger than life for sure
LewisD - 5/18/2014, 8:04 PM
@reece1485

Christian Bale definitely has more muscle mass and a lower body fat %. No question.
AlexanderLykins - 5/18/2014, 8:05 PM
@ShadowPimp723
I'm covered. I like having the bulk though.
Prime - 5/18/2014, 8:06 PM
Hemsworth looks big and ripped, Affleck just looks big. Anyone got pics of Cavill to compare?
merrillmind - 5/18/2014, 8:06 PM
Affleck looks to have that barrel chested look of a classic Batman, just like how Bale looked in "Batman Begins"
AlexanderLykins - 5/18/2014, 8:07 PM
@LewisD
How tall is Bale? Really easy to add bulk to a smaller frame.
Starfox - 5/18/2014, 8:07 PM
I pity the actor who has to reboot Thor someday, Hemsworth has made the big screen version of Odinson larger than life for sure

Look no further! Here's your new Thor! LOL
LewisD - 5/18/2014, 8:07 PM
Are you guys blind? You can't compare Ben Affleck to Christian Bale.
BatmanRobinNightwing - 5/18/2014, 8:08 PM
Dude is seriously getting huge. He has more muscle tone than i originally thought. This will be the most physical imposing Batman ever. Cant wait to see the trinity on the BIG SCREEN.
merrillmind - 5/18/2014, 8:08 PM
Cavill is much shorter than Affleck so without movie magic side by side Ben certainly gives off more of superhero vibe IMO
reece1485 - 5/18/2014, 8:09 PM
yes you can lewis , bale was scrawny
merrillmind - 5/18/2014, 8:09 PM
@Starfox ROTFL
MantiniuMan - 5/18/2014, 8:09 PM
let the games begins....
AlexanderLykins - 5/18/2014, 8:10 PM
@merrillmind
Agreed.
DrunkenNukem - 5/18/2014, 8:10 PM
Bruce Wayne everybody...
batz11 - 5/18/2014, 8:11 PM
I kinda wear my muscle like this...

Geez, Ben looks great, the things peeps bitch about on this site is startling haha...
mgeoff88 - 5/18/2014, 8:11 PM
Damn, Ben Affleck is definitely in superhero shape. He will be the biggest Batman on the big screen yet.
MantiniuMan - 5/18/2014, 8:11 PM
Bale in BB was not scrawny in any shape or form....
yonny616 - 5/18/2014, 8:12 PM
Great find, merrilmind!
Prime - 5/18/2014, 8:13 PM
@merril It's weird, Superman is usually potrayed as a bigger guy than Batman.
LordBlackjack - 5/18/2014, 8:15 PM
Batman should be more about size rather than definition since we rarely ever see him without his shirt; he always has a suit on, whether it's the Batsuit or business suit.
yonny616 - 5/18/2014, 8:15 PM
@Alex Bale is 6ft. Bale got huge for Batman, only difference is the suit for Affleck is made with the muscles and all that, Bale's isn't.
AlexanderLykins - 5/18/2014, 8:16 PM
Good thing is, Cavill and Affleck both have perfect bulk.
Starkasm - 5/18/2014, 8:18 PM
He looks bigger in the costume. Probably has some padding.
BatmanRobinNightwing - 5/18/2014, 8:19 PM
I say this will get 800 pages. People dont usually pass up the chance to talkshit about Affleck or DC.
AlexanderLykins - 5/18/2014, 8:19 PM
@yonny616
I like the added bits on the suit. It adds to the bulky look. I think Ben adding that sort of mass to his abdominals was going to be impossible.
