Kikis Delivery Service live-action poster

Anime fans, there will be slight changes from the story told in the anime as the live-action "Kiki's Delivery Service" will be based on Kadono's first two volumes while the 1989 anime from Studio Ghibli only covered the first. There are six collected volumes in total that chronicle the tales of Kiki and her black cat Jiji so it seems likely that if the first film is successful, a trilogy will be created adapting two books at a time. Takashi Shimizu (The Grudge) directs and newcomer Fūka Koshiba plays the titular lead. Ryōhei Hirota, Machiko Ono, Hiroshi Yamamoto, Miho Kanazawa, Rie Miyazawa and Michitaka Tsutsui also star. Satoko Okudera (Wolf Prince) penned the film's script. Filming began on May 23, 2013 and recently wrapped for a Japanese release on March 1, 2014.

Who folks trying fool?
This looked like shit.
The only Japanese films that are ever any good, are dramas and horrors. But that they pretty much suck at all other genres.

I watch and enjoy a lot of anime, but...

Im not sure the need for this being Live Action. The entire concept seems made for a cartoon medium... Not to say it couldnt be well done. But if they were going to make a Miyazaki movie live action, id MUCH rather see Nausicaa, Laputa or Princess Mononoke and if those would all be too expensive, My Neighbor Totoro could be a REALLY great live action movie

Where is the fraging cat? THE CAT?!?!?!?!?!

and this is only a low budget japanese only film...

If you gonna spend money on this cartoonish crap with a weird target group, why not make a Elfen Lied movie instead? Now that I could watch.
