In a few hours the official embargo will lift and the first wave of official reviews will hit the internet. Not sure why but the Toronto Sun has one of the first official reviews posted and here is a taste of what they had to say in their five star review of The Dark Knight Rises.

Bruce Kirkland of the Toronto Sun
For audiences who want smart storytelling with their adrenaline rush, The Dark Knight Rises, which opens late Thursday, is as profoundly moving as it is dynamic. It is as intimate as it is huge, especially in the IMAX format. It is as surprising as it is predictable, thanks to plot twists that you don't see coming. It is as occasionally amusing as it is dark and brooding, and spikes of comic relief are welcome in all the madness.

This franchise is also deeply rooted in the 73-year history of Batman, including the Frank Miller phase. Yet Nolan also layered in original ideas. For example, The Dark Knight Rises is inspired by the French Revolution, with specific references to Charles Dickens' epic historical novel, A Tale of Two Cities. As a result, there is a balance of the familiar and the fantastic that makes the movie both realistic and larger-than-life.
............................

A technical point: Unlike in the sneak previews, you can actually hear most of what Hardy says as the masked and muffled Bane. Nolan has obviously clarified the dialogue. For that matter, the technical accomplishments of the whole are at the highest levels. This popcorn movie is a cinematic banquet.

Glad you didn't include the third paragraph of this rather boring review because it alludes to the ending. Still, good to hear the positive feedback. Just 2 more hours hours until the embargo is broken.

blake has to be a villain.......like hes too involved with this to be just a "cop" think about bats rouge gallery he could be thomas blake lol catman , he could be lock-up ? , Red Hood ? the list goes on and on he has to be connected to bruce/Selina/bane/Gul in some way more then him being a beat cop
antonio - 7/15/2012, 10:34 PM
I think Hitflix's review might be the first review published. If not, Empire, Peter Travers, or Roger Ebert.
95 - 7/15/2012, 10:36 PM
It's been an honor, guys. This journey. What an amazing prize at the end.
TheBatman50k - 7/15/2012, 10:37 PM
@Intruder,

EVERYBODY and I mean EVERYBODY who has seen it up until now has loved it. These early reviews kind of reminds of...wait what was that movie called again...OH yea The Avengers.
fedup - 7/15/2012, 10:38 PM
@Intruder Are you done with the marvelite/whedonite/marvelite stupidity? I mean do you really get that much joy ou of being an argumentative contrarian? I can understand getting a chuckle or two out of it from time to time, but it seems like every article you're saying the same stuff.
fedup - 7/15/2012, 10:39 PM
*out
bane187 - 7/15/2012, 10:39 PM
Holy crap yes can't wait got tickets for the marothon thursday
InTylerWeTrust - 7/15/2012, 10:40 PM
"I think Nolanites will sadly be in for the biggest shock in there young adult lives after this movie is released. And not in the good way."

Nope.
antonio - 7/15/2012, 10:40 PM
@95 still can't believe it's ending.
IIIAdamantiumIII - 7/15/2012, 10:41 PM
on the other side he could just be night wing , some people are claiming the chalk bat symbols around the city are drawn by blake , some are a bit smugged and look more like nightwings symbol.... and if you flip it omg it looks like a robin..... and if we go back and look at the football scene the fan with the card R is 100% the robin logo - yes i know they say a fan did that on his own and snuck it in there but come one we know how nolan is.....hes so sneaky
fedup - 7/15/2012, 10:41 PM
@Intruder Doesn't seem to be anything "friendly" about you.
bane187 - 7/15/2012, 10:42 PM
Intruder FUGG OFF
bane187 - 7/15/2012, 10:43 PM
Imma be crying I can't believe it's over
CPBuff22 - 7/15/2012, 10:44 PM
I thought that if you look at it as an independent movie with no back story or character history its a solid 4 stars. But for those who are fans of both the prior films and the comics that rating drops to a 3 stars due to continuity and character issues. It wasn't as bad as Green Lantern or Wolverine but it fell short of Avengers.
k0sta1304 - 7/15/2012, 10:45 PM
The embargo will be removed in a few hours? I thought it wasn't until July 18th? Confused. Help.
pro346 - 7/15/2012, 10:45 PM
Cant wait until early thursday morning!!!
antonio - 7/15/2012, 10:46 PM
@Kosta I have not about that. It was confirmed by an L.A. Times critic and Roger Ebert among a few others it's lifted first thing at midnight on the 16th.
antonio - 7/15/2012, 10:46 PM
#Heard
AnditsOn1 - 7/15/2012, 10:47 PM
For the record, I am planing to go watch this movie only because i want to watch man of steel teaser trailer, so, yeah, basically, WB wins (because I had no intention to watch it before). But it's good to know the movie will be great, although i think nobody gonna doubt that, right?
Minotauro - 7/15/2012, 10:48 PM
What's up @InTylerWeTrust. Haven't seen you in awhile! Hows things been going.

@Intruder - Being a typical tool as usual. Or marvelite should I say.
TonyChu - 7/15/2012, 10:48 PM
Embargo is to be removed today.
JDUKE25 - 7/15/2012, 10:48 PM
Everyone give Intruder a hug.

Computer fail Pictures, Images and Photos

Poor guy.
StormLoganSummers - 7/15/2012, 10:48 PM
The Sun is a shit newspaper.
antonio - 7/15/2012, 10:49 PM
@JDUKE25 lol!
TonyChu - 7/15/2012, 10:50 PM
And thus it looks like we have had a summer with all great comicbook movies. Does this mean the Nolanite/Marvelite bickering was for nothing?
Greenman - 7/15/2012, 10:51 PM
Short review, but sweet! Can't wait for Thursday night!
antonio - 7/15/2012, 10:51 PM
@TonyChu for most, it was for nothing. To some that actually get a kick out of that kind of thing, it means a lot to them.
fedup - 7/15/2012, 10:51 PM
@TonyChu Yes. Yes it does.
AsianVersionOfET - 7/15/2012, 10:52 PM
