FAN ART: How Luke Skywalker Could Look In STAR WARS EPISODE VII

Check out this brilliant artist's impression of how an older Mark Hamill might - and hopefully will - look when/if he steps back into the role of Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker in J.J. Abrams' new Star Wars flick..

Fans have been concerned about the actors from the original trilogy reprising their roles after so long, but if Hamill can pull off something even close to the pic above I don't think there would be too many complaints. The pic comes courtesy of the very talented Phil Noto (see more of his work by clicking the link back to his Tumblr page below) who will hopefully bring us his interpretations of the older versions of Han and Leia at some point too.

Unfortunately Hamill will never be that in shape ever again in his life.
ahhmynuts - 3/12/2013, 8:30 PM
wow he'd have to lose a lot of weight to look anything like that.
indigobolt956 - 3/12/2013, 8:30 PM
actually looks pretty cool
but ya what @IgnurRant said i love mark hamill though hes a legend
JDUKE25 - 3/12/2013, 8:30 PM
eh...looks ok

Hamill should definitely have a beard for this.
thewonderer - 3/12/2013, 8:32 PM
Hamill is a fatass, he won't look like this.
RorMachine - 3/12/2013, 8:32 PM
Sure it'll take a lot of work, but these guys will have the best personal trainers money can buy..I think it's possible.
bonesmcgee - 3/12/2013, 8:34 PM
I think people are underestimating what Hamill can do with his body. He'll be fine.
LucasMend - 3/12/2013, 8:34 PM
bonesmcgee - 3/12/2013, 8:35 PM
Also, Hamill doesn't have to be cut. He just needs to be appropriately fit for the role. Even if he gets to how Jeff Bridges was in 'Tron Legacy' he'll be fine.
Tainted87 - 3/12/2013, 8:36 PM
It could happen. I'm itching to see Mark Hamill do something live-action again.
bazinga85 - 3/12/2013, 8:37 PM
That looks good, but too good. He'll never get into THAT good of shape at his age. It is hamill though,so he loves the fans too much to not do anything
Happy11 - 3/12/2013, 8:38 PM
I have a bad feeling about this
IronWood - 3/12/2013, 8:38 PM
You guys make it seem like it's impossible for him to get into shape for the movie if need be. Who's to say they will even ask him to lose weight for the movie?
Pheezmatic - 3/12/2013, 8:40 PM
Are you kidding me?? Luke beat the Empire...he can get as fat as he wants..

When any of YOU can beat the empire then we'd see if u don't feel like spending the rest of your life eating chocolate cake, twinkles, filet mignon and lobster..in that order.

you do NOT have the force!! stop hating on luke dammit..and kiss the ring.
aztony1975 - 3/12/2013, 8:43 PM
If Hamill reprises Luke, he will lose the weight. The contract and the cash will make it so. Engage!
ahhmynuts - 3/12/2013, 8:44 PM
2015 release date means filming in 2014. its march of 2013. he better be in the gym right now. thats a good 50 lbs at least from the last pic i saw of him.
robometrallador - 3/12/2013, 8:50 PM
pefect... he has to put down some weight though
wavehunter - 3/12/2013, 8:51 PM
LucasMend, I freggin laughed so hard at that!
Tainted87 - 3/12/2013, 8:51 PM
The art does make him look more like Kenneth Branagh than Mark Hamill at present....
continuezero - 3/12/2013, 9:02 PM
He's gonna be wearing a Jedi Cloak so weight won't be a huge issue.
Tony93 - 3/12/2013, 9:04 PM
They know what they are doing if they bring him back, ofcourse hes going to lose weight
same goes for lea
Superguy15 - 3/12/2013, 9:04 PM
Looks cool to me!
DrRockso - 3/12/2013, 9:05 PM
I bet Hamill will stick with the bangs and not go with the edgy up-do
DrRockso - 3/12/2013, 9:06 PM
William H Macy as Luke
AsianVersionOfET - 3/12/2013, 9:07 PM
That looks sweet
dudemanjac - 3/12/2013, 9:09 PM
Google image "old luke skywalker". I think this is the best we can hope for, and I'm not mad at it.

@thewonderer

"Hamill is a fatass, he won't look like this. "

That's right. Because people never lose weight. Especially not film stars.

(rolls eyes)

[frick]ing moron.
yingyangpalms - 3/12/2013, 9:17 PM
Like Whedon said, dont go backwards, go forward with new stories.
Woodkid - 3/12/2013, 9:17 PM
might need to recast
Morbius - 3/12/2013, 9:27 PM
Pretty kickass work LOL.
HeaDQuaKeJr - 3/12/2013, 9:42 PM
Everyone is bashing Mr. Hamill for gaining wait. I take it you all are pro bodybuilders and in the best possible shape. Apparently no one has heard of CGI.. they could make him look like Kate Moss in post-production if they wanted to! Bunch of judgmental [frick]tards!
HeaDQuaKeJr - 3/12/2013, 9:43 PM
PS - the above photo is FAN-ART!! That is one persons interpretation!!
NoJobBOB - 3/12/2013, 9:47 PM
I think Hamill could do it. I mean they would give him a trainer or he could get one himself to lose the weight.
Fearless - 3/12/2013, 10:00 PM
Sub-Zero Wins!
blkyank - 3/12/2013, 10:02 PM
Old people look old.So what? Thank god fanboys back in 1977 were not posting pictures of Alec Guinness or Peter Cushing from 1941.Oh the years had been rough on them too.

If Hamill (or Carrie Fisher for that matter) appear in the next Star Wars film they will
have a wonderful thing called "Makeup" and "Hairstyling" done to them before getting in front of a camera.

They will have costumes cut to hide extra pounds and be shot with the right "Lighting"to hide bags under the eyes and crows feet.

Post production "touchups" will be done to the finished shots. And that's not even accounting for whatever work personal trainers and cooks can do to help slim them down before shooting starts.

Jeeze, some kids here think Hamill will just roll out of bed and show up for work with a turkey drumstick in his mouth.

Hamill has done some great animation work over the years since Return of the Jedi, but Episode Seven would be the biggest second chance in life one could imagine. It's a chance to bookend his cinematic legacy as he is pushing 60. The
guy will not want to f.ck that up by looking like sh.t.
LordOfTheZegaRealm - 3/12/2013, 10:18 PM
That's a beast look.
NoJobBOB - 3/12/2013, 10:40 PM
looking at it agian, he kinda looks like an older version of this guy...

Ewan Mcgregor should just play Mark Hamill
CorronZenith30 - 3/12/2013, 10:50 PM
He'll be fine - i dont think the creative team behind the new movies will just have a "who cares, we'll take em as they come" attitude, im sure the'll be getting them to loose a few kgs and appropriately slim down for the roles. This is a normal part of preparing for a movie. They'll get the help they need and im sure that they will all look great.
phoenixforce9 - 3/12/2013, 10:53 PM
Looks a little like Shat---ner haha
Triptheorist - 3/12/2013, 11:03 PM
The whole act of bringing back the original cast keeps making my mind wander towards the way that Kosinski CGI'd a young Jeff Bridges in Tron.
HRDWYR - 3/12/2013, 11:26 PM
If Disney wants to aim this franchise to a younger audience(which it has to do to make $$$ and that's all Disney is about these days), he'll need to do a transition film. The books are pretty much set up for that(jedi academy or the twins are good places to start). People age and die in the SW universe too ya know. If they bring back the "trinity" if you will, and they should, it should only be for the first film to hand it off to a younger cast.

BTW, Back the F*ck off these actors. lets see how you look in 30 years. I'm sure most of them didn't foresee returning to these characters 30 years later in 1978-79! Just be happy we're NOT getting another Jar Jar.

Of course it doesn't really matter how they look does it? Some of you will just find something else you don't like & cry about it. I, for one, hope they DON'T bring Boba Fett back(that's right, i said it), just to watch all you cry, lol.

-just my two cents-
SuperDude001 - 3/12/2013, 11:59 PM
I love the idea, and even though yes Hamill has put on a lot of weight I imagine they could give him the same look just less badass and it'd still work.
The only one that needs to still look badass is Han Solo in my opinion, cause although he's married to a Princess he's still the smuggler-type. While for Luke, we've seen Jedi's that once old have become quite wide and disabled in ways whilst still being badass (e.g. Yoda).
Mothchild - 3/13/2013, 1:35 AM
What's the big deal? All he has to do is use the force to lose weight. Der
GUNSMITH - 3/13/2013, 2:06 AM
COMMITTING TO DO STAR WARS YOU GOTTA GET IN SHAPE, YEAH THEY ARE OLDER...BUT THEN AGAIN THERES ALOT OF OLDER PEOPLE THAT IF THEY WANTED TO, COULD GET IN GREAT SHAPE
GUNSMITH - 3/13/2013, 2:07 AM
NOBODY WANTS TO SEE A OVERWEIGHT JEDI.
SaxoWolf - 3/13/2013, 2:07 AM
He'll be in shape, don't worry.
Azazel1 - 3/13/2013, 2:27 AM
Mark Hamil is already hitting the gym. He has been spotted in LA working out. He will look good, no worries...
Azazel1 - 3/13/2013, 2:28 AM
Carrie Fisher should start getting in shape!!!
NoJobBOB - 3/13/2013, 6:08 AM
I bet Carrie's already back on her diet.
