First Look At Robin Lord Taylor As 'Oswald Cobblepot' On GOTHAM Set

We saw Ben McKenzie as the young Jim Gordon earlier today, and now some more set snaps from Fox's currently shooting Gotham pilot have surfaced online, giving us a look at Robin Lord Taylor as the man who will be Penguin. Check them out after the jump.

"Everyone knows the name Commissioner Gordon. He is one of the crime world’s greatest foes, a man whose reputation is synonymous with law and order. But what is known of Gordon’s story and his rise from rookie detective to Police Commissioner? What did it take to navigate the multiple layers of corruption that secretly ruled Gotham City, the spawning ground of the world’s most iconic villains? And what circumstances created them – the larger-than-life personas who would become Catwoman, The Penguin, The Riddler, Two-Face and The Joker?
GOTHAM is an origin story of the great DC Comics super villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told. From executive producer/writer Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist,” “Rome”), GOTHAM follows one cop’s rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering on the edge of evil and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes of our time."

I can see where they are going with this. Nice.
Batmaniac - 3/17/2014, 5:29 PM
Perfect? Really?

Look at the size of him. What, is it the nose? Is that all it takes to 'nail it'?
npamusic - 3/17/2014, 5:31 PM
not bad!
Batmaniac - 3/17/2014, 5:31 PM
Go take a good look at Matt Ryan's Constantine. That's what you call perfect. This schmuck looks nothing like Oswald Cobblepot.
MrReese - 3/17/2014, 5:32 PM
What's his newspaper read? 20 cops slay????
batmanvsuperman - 3/17/2014, 5:32 PM
Looks cool I just cant see Jada pinked as a very believable villain or crime boss hope she change my mind
pointman - 3/17/2014, 5:35 PM
@JAMES
The definition of a wolverine is a short hairy beast that will take on opponents three times it's size, so yeah, we do need a shorter actor for that part, but for this one, I can go with it.
DAGuess - 3/17/2014, 5:35 PM
He's playing a young Penguin! Give him a few years and he will pudgy with a receding hairline just like you remember him. I'm totally down with this!
xstryker - 3/17/2014, 5:36 PM
Perfect!
Terrible!
Somewhere in between?
MrReese - 3/17/2014, 5:37 PM
Cops slay Wayne???
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 3/17/2014, 5:37 PM
I can dig it. Still mad that Gordon has no facial hair tho
ComicsBornAndBred - 3/17/2014, 5:39 PM
Wow he like a regal badass!! Nice!! Penguin suave as shiti. They got the look down
BIGBMH - 3/17/2014, 5:40 PM
He'll do. I hope this show turns out well. I'm having a hard time shaking my skepticism for DC live action projects lately.
UltimateNullifier - 3/17/2014, 5:40 PM
Burgess Meredith wasn't fat, and he was perfect as Penguin. It doesn't look great, but it sure as hell isn't terrible.
Arrowhead77 - 3/17/2014, 5:41 PM
Holy frick, he looks great! I think this show will surprise people!
McGee - 3/17/2014, 5:42 PM
Vast improvement over past incarnations.

ComicsBornAndBred - 3/17/2014, 5:43 PM
He's for a creepy suave demeanor to him. I like it. Remember, he's not the portly penguin yet. He has to grow into that. He may have some of the characteristics now but he'll acquire others as he te adorns. Like physically for example. I like why I've seen so far from the show. I like the contemporary look of it.
JamesMan - 3/17/2014, 5:43 PM
@pointman

Touche sir.
Batmaniac - 3/17/2014, 5:44 PM
@THEDARKKNIGHT1939

That's because they got the teenage heartthrob from The O.C. to play him.
Bread - 3/17/2014, 5:44 PM
I like it!
SuperCat - 3/17/2014, 5:44 PM
Not bad.

Batmaniac - 3/17/2014, 5:45 PM
You can't grow into short rotund man.
McGee - 3/17/2014, 5:45 PM
Keep in mind this is a young Pengy. Eventually he can let himself go.

actionmoviefanatix - 3/17/2014, 5:45 PM
@MrReese

I think it might be something like "Hero Cops Slay Wayne Killers" or something to that effect. The last word is the only one I'm really shaky on.
BlacktinAmerica - 3/17/2014, 5:47 PM
There may be hope for you yet Gotham.
Shaanyboi - 3/17/2014, 5:48 PM
Not as stout as I usually associate with Penguin, but looks like he might be suave enough. But he's a big more of a middleman in this isn't he?
SuperCat - 3/17/2014, 5:48 PM
McGee - 3/17/2014, 5:48 PM
The nose is bang on. I've always said it should look like Mayim Bal....Blak....that Blossom girl who is now on Big Bang.

MrReese - 3/17/2014, 5:48 PM
@actionmoviefanatix Could be! Thanks! That shit was bugging me. Couldn't make it out myself. :)
Batmaniac - 3/17/2014, 5:49 PM
Danny DeVito may not have been a comic accurate Penguin, but he's 10x the Penguin than this prat will ever be.
ThePowerCosmic - 3/17/2014, 5:49 PM
Yep! They hired a guy with a pointy nose.
Batmaniac - 3/17/2014, 5:51 PM
So, Jim Gordon looks like Ryan from The O.C. and Oswald Cobblepot doesn't look like Oswald Cobblepot? Yep, this show is failing.
WakeOfMagellen - 3/17/2014, 5:52 PM
I just get sooOOoOOoOooo bored with anything/everything to do with
the mentality of a "prequel/origin" story.
Whether it's on tv or film.
99% of the time the writers and producers of the shows or movies are trying to just desperatly "fill in the holes" with plot points/details.
(Either Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica's Caprica, Smallville.....
any of them)
Snore :-/
