Will Cillian Murphy Return As The Scarecrow In TDKR?

Just a rumor for now, but several different eyewitnesses claim to have spotted the actor on the LA set, and we even have a possible scene description detailing how he may fit into the story..

Now get your pinch of salt handy, there is nothing to suggest that these accounts are legit. The reason I post it as a rumor is that several different people have claimed to have spotted Murphy on set around the same time of shooting and the following two accounts also link up. Still, with no hard evidence we can't know for sure but at the rate photos are being leaked from that set it shouldn't be long before we find out one way or the other.

The first account is from Magnusrex..

Cillian Murphy is returning in TDKR. You can see him at Union Station in Los Angeles, but at least that's where I saw him earlier on my way back home from taking spy photos.

I couldn't take a picture of him because there are a ton of security guards, but he's definitely there.

You can take this as 100% legit fact.

Scarecrow is in TDKR.

He was wearing a black robe, probably to disguise his suit underneath.

The next is an excerpt from a very detailed scene description posted over at the TDKR Facebook page. Apparently the scene takes place at Union Station and involves a Judge of some kind handing down sentences to various "criminals". Bane is mentioned, as is Harvey Dent although the context is unclear. At one point Jim Gordon and Miranda Tate are brought before him and he asks them to choose "death or exile".

It appears that exile means walking a dangerous frozen river on the outskirts of Gotham. Which would coincide with the LA River scene filmed with Gordon and his men tip toeing awkwardly in the leaked video.

Oh P.S.

Judge's identity: JONATHAN F#CKIN CRANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cillian Murphy is back with a bang!

You can read the full account HERE. Some of the details and dialog make me wary, others seem like they could be legit. But I think the similarities in the different accounts make it at least worth considering. What do you guys think? Confirm or debunk below.

tintin - 9/29/2011, 6:07 AM
hopefully he has longer screen time.
blvdnoise - 9/29/2011, 6:11 AM
Calling it: Scarecrow sprays Batman.. Bane temporarily seems ENORMOUS to him while he's infected..
(Would fit well that full on "CGI ENDING")
PaulRom - 9/29/2011, 6:13 AM
Whoa, sounds epic.
marvel72 - 9/29/2011, 6:22 AM

bhattib - 9/29/2011, 6:30 AM
yeah it all 100% LEGIT. i took photos of Stryver and Daggets casting trailers here in UK outside the courtroom so they did film some of that scene here in Uk too. SPOILER - BAne making batman wear his venom mask is true too as that explains the disfigured face from the Osterley shoot
StrangerX - 9/29/2011, 6:41 AM
If its true that's cool, but last I read Murphy and Nolan had a falling out.
BooYah - 9/29/2011, 6:42 AM
Cool! He's great as Scarecrow.
BackwardGalaxy - 9/29/2011, 6:56 AM

hoodedjester - 9/29/2011, 7:24 AM
something tells me we won't see him at all. He's "spending the rest of his life in a padded cell"
THABATMAN - 9/29/2011, 7:31 AM
I can't wait for this movie! I wonder how he will fit in, can we get another trailer?!
BIGBMH - 9/29/2011, 7:33 AM
I actually wouldn't mind seeing Scarecrow play a part in this.
xXkryptoniteXx - 9/29/2011, 7:37 AM
Seems like there having some of scarecrows gas on them, that well be awesome. His a cool actor and I hope this is legit and that his in the movie, let's not forget he was cast cause he was suppose to be batman in batman begins but bale got the part, I can't remember the reason but I believe it was that voice of batman that bale pitch.
DoctorSnide - 9/29/2011, 7:43 AM
From the teaser poster this may be lightly based off No Man's Land. The skyscrapers falling apart as if Gotham has suffered a massive earthquake.

Plus, with this new information, if there is this scene where the Judge is giving people like Gordon and Miranda Tate Death or Exile options I have a feeling the final shot where batman is sort of backing up is part of that somehow.

Whoever is standing in the back is probably a bane Merc holding his rifle up as to give Batman no other option but to fight no matter his state of exhaustion. Man. July is going to be here in no time and I look forward to it. This will "top" TDK in upping the ante but I'm not comparing since they are all part of a larger story which will be revealed once this comes out.

Batman, Bane, Selena Kyle, That hover batwing thing, The completed Batcave,Roland Dagget Industries, etc, etc.. As long as batman gets his ass whooped at least once I will be pleased.

Love Scarecrow and love Cillian Murphy as an actor but Im against this. Having Scarecrwo in all 3 movies while Joker (for obvious reasons) is only in one make Scarecrow look more like Batman's archenemy. Besides his story was wrapped up in the beginning of tdk. The way I see it, if no Joker, No scarecrow. It almost feels like villain royal rumble with every nolan villain appearing from the series except the most important one. So no Scarecrow I hope.
AK47 - 9/29/2011, 8:18 AM
blvdnoise

That is an epic idea, really hope it turns out like that
soberchimera - 9/29/2011, 8:18 AM
Scarecrow is still alive in Nolan's universe, why wouldn't they bring him back? He was definitely my favorite villain from Batman Begins. It's a shame Nolan didn't make him the main villain, I think he could of held a movie on his own.
AlexDeLarge87 - 9/29/2011, 8:23 AM
Awesome if true :)
GiftedYoungster - 9/29/2011, 8:35 AM
Maybe scarecrow's responsible for Venom.

Broken out of Blackgate then uses the Leagues resources to get a great chemistry set.
WiscoJoe - 9/29/2011, 8:36 AM
Wasn't everyone expecting this?
RockNRollCC - 9/29/2011, 8:39 AM
Nolan did say his all star cast would return for TDKR. I already assumed Murphy was returning, and this seems pretty legit
Moonwalker1991 - 9/29/2011, 8:39 AM
Loved the portrayal of Scarecrow in this series. Lookin forward to his return.
BillyBatson1000 - 9/29/2011, 8:43 AM
Now that we 'know' everything, why see the film? I know, I should stop opening these links - damn it I try. But I'm dragged back, time and time again!
LucasMend - 9/29/2011, 8:46 AM
would love to see he coming back, great actor, the scene seems good
Citizencecil - 9/29/2011, 8:47 AM
@billybatson1000 same here i dont want to know about a film before i see it but i just keep opening these I have no idea why.

saying that....Yeah the scarecrow!
shane2188 - 9/29/2011, 9:30 AM
choose exile? What is this Sly's Dredd
batarang - 9/29/2011, 9:38 AM
I was thinking that the fire bane comes out of is the fire at the los thing in bb. Ras tells him to rest and he will finish it. Ras dies bane is not heathly enough so him and talia send the joker to gotham to cause chaos and weakend the bat til bane is ready. Because where would bane be else?
CherryBomb - 9/29/2011, 9:45 AM
Hopefully! Cillian is amazing <3
Tainted87 - 9/29/2011, 9:49 AM
Let's use the space between our ears, shall we?
This...

Mixed with this...

Only with Scarecrow. It does smell fishy, and any mock court scene should really have Two-Face present (except of course, they decided to kill him off, grr).
jimoakley666 - 9/29/2011, 10:26 AM
Sounds like Gotham is going to hell.
