Forbes Reveal Their Top 10 Directors To Take Over From Nolan After TDKR

Affleck? Refn? Snyder? The site reveal ten names they say are "most likely on the list" to take over from Christopher Nolan on WB's Batman franchise after The Dark Knight Rises..

I'm going to assume these guys know what they are talking about, but this doesn't seem to be put together as a "wishlist" type thing, they seem to suggest that the following names may really be in the running! We're going to assume that they don't know anything for certain however, and these directors are just who they feel are most likely on Warner Bros. radar. Either way, it's a very interesting assemblage of names..

Ben Affleck, Duncan Jones, Nicolas Winding Refn, Guy Ritchie, David Yates, Neil Blomkamp, Mathew Vaughn, Rupert Wyatt, Zack Snyder and Darren Aronofsky

At the end of the article, Forbes writer Mark Huges stresses:

"This is not my list of personal preferences, FYI — although I’d be fine/happy with anybody on this list — so remember this is a list of directors I think will probably be offered the job."

Hmmm. If you click on the link below you can read his reasons behind the names he chose. Some make a lot of sense, others...might be a stretch imo. But it's still very well thought out, and makes you think a couple of these guys may actually end up in the running when Christopher Nolan has Batman hang up the cowl. What do you guys think? I know there are a few names I would be very happy with anyway.

RunDTC - 4/17/2012, 12:09 PM
Ben Affleck would be interesting. Gone Baby Gone and The Town both really impressed me.
rueda - 4/17/2012, 12:15 PM

P862010 - 4/17/2012, 12:17 PM
Aronfsky is who the studio wants

but i think he scares them especially after his year one script lol
Dedpool - 4/17/2012, 12:17 PM
Arronofsky, Ritchie, Vaughn, Affleck, and Jones.
Christuffer - 4/17/2012, 12:18 PM
Zack Snyder or Matthew Vaughn, or gtfo
marvel72 - 4/17/2012, 12:19 PM
darren aronofsky or rupert wyatt.
Thegoddamnbatman52 - 4/17/2012, 12:19 PM
Fincher or arronofsky for me
MassExecutions - 4/17/2012, 12:19 PM
Vaughn or Aronofsky because they would be willing to go less "realistic" and have some really superheroics, and maybe someone with powers, like Killer Croc or Clayface. We don't need more films that primarily crime dramas.
KnobGoblin - 4/17/2012, 12:20 PM
David Fincher! SE7EN was a classic noir style detective story, and Tyler Durdan WAS The Joker.
Rodimus9 - 4/17/2012, 12:20 PM
Aronofsky and Bloomkamp are probably favorites though. Maybe Sodenbergh?
revjordan - 4/17/2012, 12:21 PM
i would probably ed up loving an aronofsky batman. but it would probably tank. well, tank in comparison to the nolan profits.
MovieMaster - 4/17/2012, 12:21 PM
Fincher or gtfo.
imnotahero - 4/17/2012, 12:22 PM
It's essentially a list of up and coming directors who have dabbled in sci fi but have yet to do a big franchise movie. I'd be happy with almost any of them except for Snyder. I hate him with a passion.
mattattack - 4/17/2012, 12:23 PM
Ben Affleck, Duncan Jones, and Nicolas Winding Refn are my picks.
MassExecutions - 4/17/2012, 12:23 PM
Fincher (like most of these guys) is a great director, but I don't think he'd make it more comicbooky, and that's what I'd like. Also, somebody why can shoot action. Fincher is pretty good, but Vaughn and Aronofsky are probably better.
AlexDeLarge87 - 4/17/2012, 12:24 PM
Aronofsky, Wyatt or Jones would be interesting.
Fincher or Alfonso Cuaron would be cool too.

Aronofsky was before Nolan attached to make the Batman: Year One movie which i believe was suppossed to be very realistic so i dont really know about him?
We have already seen one realistic Batman so it would be cool to see now the more comic oriented version.
Which would fall between Nolan´s vision and Burton´s Batman.
I dont really know which way Aronofsky would now go so im ready to give him a chance.
Wildaniel - 4/17/2012, 12:25 PM
Michael Bay anyone?
ManofSteel23 - 4/17/2012, 12:26 PM
snyder should stay with superman until theres a trilogy
nailbiter111 - 4/17/2012, 12:28 PM

TheMarmoset - 4/17/2012, 12:28 PM

AlexDeLarge87 - 4/17/2012, 12:29 PM
As awesome as Fincher would be he has declined Batman once already cause he cant see guy dressing as Bat and fighting against criminal. So seeing him behind the next film could be very unlikely.
But who knows maybe he has changed his mind!:)
imnotahero - 4/17/2012, 12:29 PM
Also, in response to so many saying Darren Aronofsky would be a good choice: Have you heard the summary for his version of Batman: Year One? It sounded awful. He changed almost everything about the character. The guy is a good director but I don't want him to do a comic book movie.
Wildaniel - 4/17/2012, 12:31 PM
Curmudgeon - 4/17/2012, 12:33 PM
BRAD BIRD.

I want a Batman who has a good story AND some kick-ass action.
INSTANTJUSTICE - 4/17/2012, 12:34 PM
Fincher hates superheroes.
RorMachine - 4/17/2012, 12:34 PM
Nail, no it shouldn't. I said reveal THEIR list not THE list.
Rodimus9 - 4/17/2012, 12:37 PM
How about the "Original Ginger"?

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos
GUNSMITH - 4/17/2012, 12:37 PM
AFRONSKY MIGHT MAKE IT WIERD. SNYDER WOULD MAKE IT LOOK GOOD
GUNSMITH - 4/17/2012, 12:39 PM
THE FORMULA OF NOLAN IS SOUND AND THEY SHOULD STICK WITH THAT FORMULA BECAUSE WE'VE ALL SEEN IT DONE VARIOUS WAYS AND NOLAN'S DIRECTION IS THE WAY THE NEXT GUY SHOULD TACKLE IT.
MagnusRex22 - 4/17/2012, 12:39 PM
Nicolas Winding Refn. He directed Drive, and if any of yo havent seen Bronson yet then see it immediately. He directed that, stars Tom Hardy in one of the most twisted and unusal movies I have ever seen.
MassExecutions - 4/17/2012, 12:43 PM
Ah! Luc Besson should at least do a script treatment, and if he doesn't direct maybe Pierre Morel who directed Taken?

As you might guess, I'm looking for a more action oriented Batman.
ItsATrap - 4/17/2012, 12:45 PM
mathew vaughan or guy ritchie all the way
CPBuff22 - 4/17/2012, 12:45 PM
There need not be a "Next One". I'd prefer a full out Reboot.
LordThanos231 - 4/17/2012, 12:47 PM
I think Darren Aronofsky, Ridley Scott, David Fincher, or Matthew Vaughn should direct be directing the reboot!
CaptainObvious - 4/17/2012, 12:49 PM
I think Sam Raimi would be a good choice. Watch this movie to see why.
AlexDeLarge87 - 4/17/2012, 12:50 PM
I would like to see more older and experienced Batman in the next film. Dick Grayson and Tim Drake as his proteges and Barbara Gordon as Oracle.
Going against Rupert Thorne, Black Mask and Deadshot or Roland Daggett and Clayface or Hugo Strange, Man-Bat and Killer Croc.
