Not sure which mag this was scanned from just yet, but as usual it was picked up by the eagle-eyed lads over at the TDKR Facebook page. We will update when we have the details.

This movie looks awesome. I think it'll wind up being the best in the Nolan trilogy for sure.
Rowsdower - 5/24/2012, 9:30 AM

spiderman1985 - 5/24/2012, 9:31 AM
Isn't "The Bat" a fan created name that everyone just ran with?
MovieMann - 5/24/2012, 9:31 AM
Its not even just the Ship and Batman.
that whole area looks badass.
In guess he did expand the Batcave
joker1 - 5/24/2012, 9:33 AM
Wow that's cool! In tdk one of the jokers men try's to take off batman mask and get a electric shock ! I think bane will rip off batmans mask and won't feel the shock because of hi pain relief mask !!! ?
RorMachine - 5/24/2012, 9:34 AM
No I think The Bat is what it has been called so far on toy packaging etc, it may not be in the actual movie but it's the name we are going with for now.
SageMode - 5/24/2012, 9:35 AM
Oh look, they took a hunter-killer from THE TERMINATOR and painted it black, and named it "THE BAT", now that's what you call creative. LOL. Jk
Azrael725 - 5/24/2012, 9:37 AM
Damn it looks like he really expanded the batcave if it can fit that, the tumbler, and everything else.
TonyChu - 5/24/2012, 9:37 AM
Nowthat looks awesome!
HavocPrime - 5/24/2012, 9:37 AM

"The Bat"
Nice and Concise.

They probably call it that because it flies. And hes Batman haha.

I dont see the characters sitting around coming up with some Super Awsome comicbook name.

Gordon: Hey Batman, super cool new vehicle

Batman:Yeah, hey do you want to no what its called?

Gorddon: Um, not really, you know since Bane is basically butt raping Gotham right now.

Batman: Oh F[ri]ck that, Its called the SuperSonic Batjet. Pretty Badass huh?

Gordon: Batman, I uh, I've got to tell ya...I honestly don't give a shit.
Jolt17 - 5/24/2012, 9:42 AM
The Bat...whatever, I don't think it's how it will be referred to in the movie, anyway. (Was the Batpod ever called the Batpod in The Dark Knight?) It looks [frick]ing awesome to me.
Matador - 5/24/2012, 9:50 AM
Should have included Lucky Charms in there too.
spidey1994 - 5/24/2012, 9:54 AM
It's still the Batwing to me.
TheDetectiveComicRises - 5/24/2012, 9:55 AM
It's on! I work @ walmart new Batman gear came in last nite for TDKR!
FrankLeeGitnit - 5/24/2012, 9:57 AM
Honestly, batman is supposed to have an ironman like suit... It would be hot if he broke that out for Bane... Which is what he's supposed to do anyway..
PersonaPostOvo - 5/24/2012, 10:03 AM
No one mentions the Batcave?! It's right there in your face!
DanteSparda - 5/24/2012, 10:11 AM

BATMAN: "Shit! I left the Bat's lasers on again"

I wonder if those are really lasers, and if they are I wonder if they do the same effect as Batman's blue laser rifle.
dezdigi - 5/24/2012, 10:15 AM

@yossarian
I guess that is just one of his character's little quirks.

Such as The Joker smacking his lips.

I think that it's genious when actors add little personal touches like that.
Mansuper - 5/24/2012, 10:29 AM
@Yossarian

Christopher Nolan Stated in an interview that The Dark Knight Rises was influenced by the French Novel Les Miserables. This in turn is the reason why Bane poses as such, and why he wears that large overcoat.
Mansuper - 5/24/2012, 10:33 AM
Les Miserables is about the French revolution. The plot of TDKR seems to involve themes of opression and revolt. Similarly Les Miserables focuses on the struggles of ex-convict Jean Valjean and his experience of redemption, which could be likened to Bruce Wayne's story in TDKR.
UrichLeeds - 5/24/2012, 10:38 AM
So glad that the Batcave still looks like a cave. I was afraid it would lose that quality.

That proto-batcave in TDK was non cave like. It was kind of dull.
mikesinuman - 5/24/2012, 10:47 AM
hmm, if that is the bat, where is the baseball?
TheAntiGrif - 5/24/2012, 10:49 AM
The bat is a good name if you're not trying to divulge into too much of the goofy names that wouldn't sound right in the real world
superman7 - 5/24/2012, 11:02 AM
dude, I get more excited about this with everything I see
HorrorBiz - 5/24/2012, 11:09 AM
@Mansuper - I thought Nolan and his brother said they took inspiration from A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens? That would make sense based on what we've seen. Although maybe they also had Les Miserables as some kind of inspiration?
JDUKE25 - 5/24/2012, 11:19 AM
Awesome. Can't wait to see the batcave.
Mugwamp - 5/24/2012, 11:39 AM
Anyone else think Bale is looking pretty thin in most of these trailers? I'm wondering if they're going to do a bulk up montage as he tries to ready himself back into wearing the suit? He just doesn't look to be in very good shape.
Greengo - 5/24/2012, 11:50 AM
Mugwamp he is thin cause he was defeated and locked up, that's probably why we see him doing push ups to get back in shape before he:

THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 5/24/2012, 12:07 PM
This shit is getttttting me soo hyped!
Mrcool210 - 5/24/2012, 12:15 PM
The Bat, one of the many reasons im not excited for this movie
Ranger14 - 5/24/2012, 12:41 PM
"When they reboot this shit....they need to bring back Batman without the Iron Man suit."

I do miss the traditional yellow symbol and belt as in the image you posted...and the actual bat car as in the background...and the bat wing.

Still don't care for the look of The Bat. It's such an aerodynamically-challenged looking contraption for something that is supposed to fly.
PeterParker1991 - 5/24/2012, 12:48 PM
Cool, but the Tumbler is still my favorite Bat-vehicle. I could really do some damage on the road with that piece of art, especially with so many annoying crazy people on the road.
Devastator335 - 5/24/2012, 1:37 PM
OMG! The Batcave looks so awesome! YES! :)
GiantNerd0720 - 5/24/2012, 2:14 PM
I can't help but think this thing looks [frick]ing stupid. Just really not feeling it. I might get crap for this but it looks like it should be in Transformers.
