CBM Fancasts: Namor - The Sub Mariner

We love a good poll here at CBM! So with the recent buzz about a possible Namor movie, I figured it was time for you fine folk to have your voices heard on who should play Marvels first mutant...
Here are your choices. I can add more if any worthy suggestions are made. And by that I mean someone that could play the part, so if someone out there has his/her heart set on Freddie Prinze Jr playing Namor, sorry!

Remember, Namor is an arrogant, foul tempered git! He is also a ferocious and proud warrior. Always been more of an anti-hero than a hero so keep that in mind when choosing your pic. Also, hes well over 80 years old, and although he doesn't look it of course, don't be afraid to cast a little older as long as they could still get into great shape.

Hugo Weaving(LOTR, The Matrix, V For Vendetta)

Jason Behr(Roswell, The Tattooist)

Jonathan-Rhys-Meyers(Mission Impossible 3, The Tudors)

Luke Goss(Blade 2, Hellboy 2, Bros!)

Vin Diesel(Pitch Black, The Pacifier)

Zachary Quinto(Heroes, Star Trek)

Nestor Carbonell(The Dark Knight, Lost)

Our resident artist Shaman is going to be sketching the winner as Namor, so give him something good to work with people! The winner will be the one with the most votes by Friday 21st.

Vin all the way!!!!
Spock - 8/17/2009, 5:07 PM
I would say Hugo Weaving, he’s old but he could get the 300 treatment and develop a six pack overnight.

Verdugo - 8/17/2009, 5:11 PM
[frick] it. I'm gonna go ahead and make LEEEE happy and vote for Vin. None of the other guys really seem like a better choice.
dizzongster - 8/17/2009, 5:12 PM
Oh my god Jonathan-Rhys-Meyers looks like a [frick]ing Atlantian.
Vic M - 8/17/2009, 5:16 PM
lol, i would say all of them are better choices but far be it from me to influence voting!

By the way, i know i should have put the poll after the pics but the damn thing wouldn't let me for some reason.
Rorschach01 - 8/17/2009, 5:16 PM
This is simple..

Namor.....

Jason Behr....

Perfect match..lol :)

Bsides Diesel looks terrible with hair...

lol :P
teabag - 8/17/2009, 5:21 PM
Vin Diesel is the worst actor of all time. He makes Schwarzenegger look like flippin' Stanislavsky.
gibbyblaylock - 8/17/2009, 5:25 PM
lol teabag. i think it is possible for diesel to pull it off, but if not him, i would probably go with hugo weaving

woo hoo!
jallanr - 8/17/2009, 5:26 PM
Jallanr@ Diesel is a hack actor lol

Jason Behr was born to be Savage Namor...tell me he doesnt look the part :)

:P
teabag - 8/17/2009, 5:27 PM
And just cus Quinto and Hugo have played characters with pointy ears and eyebrows doesnt make them qualify for Namor.....being jason Behr does :P
teabag - 8/17/2009, 5:32 PM
In order of appearance...

Hugo Weaving...looks good in pointy ears but too old

Jason Behr...gets my vote, body a rock like Namor's

Johnathan Rhys-Meyers...my goodness he does look like an Atlantean with out any makeup...an' he's a good actor but I choose Jason

Luke Goss...also too old but makes a good bad guy

Vin Diesel...WTF?

Zach Quinto...too slight-built..& Spock in the Sea?...laughable!

Nestor Carbonell...Wonderful Die Fledermaus but not good Namor

...So Jason Behr all the way...IMO

Thanx for this @Ror! :)

DDD - 8/17/2009, 5:36 PM
DDD@ you da man

Jason behr has two good reasons to be Namor....

:)
teabag - 8/17/2009, 5:40 PM
I can just picture Jason flyin' outta the water an' slammnin' into Nazis! Now I'd buy that fer a dollar! :)
DDD - 8/17/2009, 5:45 PM
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO i gotta go out in a min!!!

VIN DIESEL PPL, VOTE VIN DIESEL!!!

WELCOME TO THE NAMOR ZONE!!!

VOTE VIN!!!

DIZZ @ Good man!!! ; )
LEEE777 - 8/17/2009, 5:46 PM
Well, I would like Goss to win, but I'm perfectly fine with Behr :)
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/17/2009, 5:46 PM
VOTE VIN!!!

LEEE777 - 8/17/2009, 5:47 PM
I have never seen Behr act. I mean maybe for 5 seconds in Dawsons Creek or something! He looks th epart but i gotta go with a reliably solid movie character actor!
Rorschach01 - 8/17/2009, 5:48 PM
Jonathan-Rhys-Meyers all the way, he has the look , and a royal flare
Ikaris - 8/17/2009, 5:48 PM
Vin Diesel should play crossbones
3ecs - 8/17/2009, 5:49 PM
Lee: Christ, I didn't even say anything to provoke you, you moron.

Behr or Goss for Namor

Diesel should not play any comic book character ever, unless it's a silent one.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/17/2009, 5:51 PM
yup totally agree, i went with Behr. JRM would be a good choice also, i could handle him in the role but would rather see Behr so he gets my vote
ThePrince - 8/17/2009, 5:52 PM
VOTE VIN =

Ikaris @ That guy sucks an a weed in TUDORS! GEEZUZ!

TYLER @ You breathing, provokes me TYLER!

Heh heh,

Just pulling ya chain!
LEEE777 - 8/17/2009, 5:52 PM
I like behr
Vin diesel can play atuma or tiger shark he just needs to play a good villian with less speaking parts and more yelling and fighting

tdav224 - 8/17/2009, 5:56 PM
Either Quinto or Rhys-Meyers would do.
Wiredwizard - 8/17/2009, 5:57 PM
Namor is going to be a hard one to cast.
SirPrize - 8/17/2009, 5:57 PM
Before you choose Myers on his look alone (which is perfect for Namor) be sure you have seen this dude act. HE IS [frick]ING ABYSMAL..and i say that begrudgingly as a country man of his. Hes about as convincing an actor as a wardrobe.
Rorschach01 - 8/17/2009, 6:02 PM
My vote goes to Jason Behr! Looks the part and from what ive seen hes a good actor too!
TheAnswer - 8/17/2009, 6:02 PM
IAN SOMERHALDER..HE HAS THE LOOK FOR NAMOR I THINK...
GUNSMITH - 8/17/2009, 6:20 PM
Ha!, Vin Diesel. That's funny.
iNsaneMilesy - 8/17/2009, 6:21 PM
Somerhalder = Nightwing (IMO)

Behr/Goss = Namor

iNsane: It is quite funny, isn't it.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/17/2009, 6:22 PM
These polls turn this website into a gay pride fest. Why does everyone post all these pics of all thes guys?
KillerOfSaints - 8/17/2009, 6:24 PM
Daniel Sunjata would make a great Namor

ryno - 8/17/2009, 6:26 PM
im surprised no one wants JENSEN ACKLES to play Namor!!!
KillerOfSaints - 8/17/2009, 6:26 PM
That's because everyone wants him for Cap ;)
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/17/2009, 6:27 PM
Well KillerOfSaints , since its a guy that we are fan casting, it wouldn't make much sense to post pics of chicks now would it?
Rorschach01 - 8/17/2009, 6:29 PM
That Behr guy would be a cool choice
KillerOfSaints - 8/17/2009, 6:29 PM
touche ROR! lol
KillerOfSaints - 8/17/2009, 6:29 PM
touche ROR! lol
KillerOfSaints - 8/17/2009, 6:29 PM
oops
KillerOfSaints - 8/17/2009, 6:30 PM
I gotta go with ZACKARY QUINTO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ozymandias - 8/17/2009, 6:39 PM
Ah [frick] it! Jolene Blalock for Namora!

Rorschach01 - 8/17/2009, 6:44 PM
Weird, I know he's old and all but when ever I played Marvel Ultimate Alliance, I thought of Hugo Weaving as Namor.
SuperFlyinPwrs - 8/17/2009, 6:45 PM
Yeah, throw Namora in this poll...Jolene is her...hands down...now how did my hands get down there? lol
DDD - 8/17/2009, 6:57 PM
All ya gotta do is check out Skinwalkers ppl...and you'll see that Jason has the Seething rage to play Namor!
DDD - 8/17/2009, 7:00 PM
any one of the first four on the poll, id say...

holy shit Jolene Blolack is hot
JeremyBentham - 8/17/2009, 7:03 PM
either the dude from matrix or the one from star trek

^u^
captain0vell - 8/17/2009, 7:19 PM
Hey folks,
I don't why you all are sleeping, but the best one to bring Namor to the screen is DWayne "The Rock" Johnson. Why didn't he make it to the list? He has the stature and the presence, hairline and eyebrows.

http://www.mostbeautifulman.com/athletes/dwaynejohnson/images/pic04.jpg

http://www.mostbeautifulman.com/athletes/dwaynejohnson/images/pic05.jpg
CROVL - 8/17/2009, 7:23 PM
ugh, Vin Diesel is nothing like Namor and would kill the movie if he got the part - can you really see him acting as a regal king!?! he can barely pull off action hero never mind a role like Namor which requires skill!!!

Zachary Quinto for Namor!!!

Namor
joshw24 - 8/17/2009, 7:29 PM
All terrible, terrible selections people. All that I can say is...

IMPERIOUS REX!
Vic M - 8/17/2009, 7:43 PM
Yeah Zach Quinto would be good. Hes not a bad actor, and he definately looks the part.
Shadowelfz - 8/17/2009, 7:45 PM
Luke Goss for Namor!

Or Jason Behr for Namor!

InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/17/2009, 7:46 PM
I like the Jason Behr pick. I'm probably going to get reamed for this but....The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) for Namor!!!
alcinde4 - 8/17/2009, 8:08 PM
QUINTO, QUINTO, QUINTO
cbsmitty2 - 8/17/2009, 8:27 PM
ddd- ima write a actricle of my story charatcers and put it in fan fic so u could come up with da villan
flames809 - 8/17/2009, 8:29 PM
IDK fellas. This is a rough one. Gross looks regal. So he's up there....that Bher kid it in great shape which u have to have.....Vin would have to stop using steriods and loose the huge bitch tits....he does look the part if u twist it a little....the artist rendering up there looked good......that being said, he is one of the worst actors EVER so.....yea, nevermind. He needs to go F a dude and get off this list.

JohnClayBurchett - 8/17/2009, 8:55 PM
So just to be clear. Lee77 is voting for diesel so he's not gonna win so I'm not gonna waste my vote there......gotta say I'm not too excited about any of these guys. So I'll wait to vote to see who else gets put on there.

Lee77 which one do you hate the most?
superdog - 8/17/2009, 8:55 PM
Superdog: Probably Goss because he's my choice.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/17/2009, 9:03 PM
Ryan Reynolds had just been cast as Namor....J/k Give it to Vin Diesel he wants it.
Juicerules - 8/17/2009, 9:11 PM
Don't give it to Vin because he's a sh** actor.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/17/2009, 9:16 PM
OK Flames! I'll read your story in Fanfic when ya get it done and put my gray-cells to work on a villain name!

I say Vin Diesel's nose should play the ocean 'cause it's so Damm big! lol He's only good for action and as few words as possible! There is no way that Namor has a nose like dat! His is straight and regal-like!

@Tyler, Goss is my second choice. He has Namor's regal face (Heck he even played a king!) and man is he ripped for a 40 year old guy!

And yep, Leee's Not gonna win again, with Diesel! lol

You're right @Alcinde, Dwayne Johnson would actually make a great Namor, He is 6'4 1/2" and looks pretty Regal, He played The Scorpion King after all.
DDD - 8/17/2009, 9:21 PM
Thanks DDD. I don't mind at all if Behr wins, I would just slightly prefer Goss.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/17/2009, 9:25 PM
You're welcome @Tyler!

Quinto is just too skinny-built to play Namor...Even if he worked out like a fool he still would look too little to play The King of the Sea! His face looks like it though. If they used CGI to make him look big and ripped maybe? But that would be a waste of money when there is several guys who already have the body-frame to play Namor.

DDD - 8/17/2009, 9:36 PM
All right all right... no one is serious about Vin Deisle right? Thats a joke right? Please for the love of all that is holy let that be a joke. He is a terrible terrible man.
AvengersBig4 - 8/17/2009, 9:37 PM
It's hard for my tongue to say...actor and Vin Diesel..together. lol

I can see why John Rhys-Meyers is winning right now...he looks like Namor without a single bit of makeup! lol
But he's not a great actor, he's good but not great!
DDD - 8/17/2009, 9:38 PM
Well, Lee is extremely serious about Vin. And I mean EXTREMELY SERIOUS.

P.S. I am in the middle of writing my fan trailer for Captain America, it's harder than I thought, but I have some cool ideas.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/17/2009, 9:41 PM
I say i vote for Behr..definitely Blalock for Namorita
Rumblebeast - 8/17/2009, 9:53 PM
I've never heard of Blalock. Certainly looks the part ;)
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/17/2009, 10:01 PM
Id have to say its between Luke Goss and John Rhys-Meyers. but moreso Luke Goss from his performances as the Reaper in Blade II and the Troll Prince from Hellboy II
SageMode - 8/17/2009, 10:02 PM
vin?! vin, diesel..?!? vin diesel?!?!?! hahahahahahahaha...
.
ugh, jonathan rhys meyers just because everyone else on the list were.. yeaaa, j.r.m. LOL
InFamouslyCool - 8/17/2009, 10:06 PM
LEEE may have a point...

Vin Diesel does talk like he has a snoot full of water at ALL TIMES...
thehumantorch - 8/17/2009, 10:12 PM
Zachary Quinto would be awesome as Namor. I kinda feel bad for him though. I think the poor bastard is gonna be type cast but he would do well with this role.
Joker1Zero - 8/17/2009, 10:31 PM
And in other UnderWater News..... Today , Kevens Mom was indicted on 12 counts of lewd acts and molestation against Shark Boy.... more to come after the next tide.
shibazz - 8/17/2009, 11:22 PM
Balthazar Getty should play Namor. He definitely has the look. And I personally like Charlie Hunnam from SOA for Cap.
90caliber - 8/17/2009, 11:30 PM
Have no idea who Getty is, and Charlie Hunnam is my choice for Iron Fist.

P.S. My Captain America trailer description is up in fan fic if anyone wants to check it out :)
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/17/2009, 11:34 PM
diesel has big nose to be namor...its either meyers or quinto
parascythe - 8/17/2009, 11:47 PM
Awesome poll Rorschach.

I chose Luke Goss.

I don't know Jason Behr.

I don't see Diesel, Myers, or Quinto as the role.

Who was Nathan Combanell in the DArk KNight?

Hugo Weaving just dosen't look like Namor.

So, yeah, Luke Goss.

Just watched Schindlers List (hope I spelled that right) and Platoon. 4 stars for each. Great movies.
TheCritic17 - 8/17/2009, 11:54 PM
@Tyler: NO!!!! Ray Park for Iron Fist...
TheCritic17 - 8/17/2009, 11:56 PM
Park may be an awesome fighter/acrobat, but he wouldn't be able to play the character of Iron Fist that well IMO.

Combanell was the mayor of Gotham in TDK. He was the one who walked up to the window when they showed the Batman imposter who was dead.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/18/2009, 12:14 AM
Ray Park can't act! Oh, he can do the martial arts moves for sure but they had to dub him in in Star Wars.

But he just sounds like he has marbles in his mouth when he says his lines. That's too bad too 'cause man he has the moves!

Charlie Hunnam sounds like a good choice to play Iron Fist, he has those wiry muscles like a martial arts cat! But he's too slight to play Cap. It has to be someone with a thicker-physique to play Cap.
DDD - 8/18/2009, 12:15 AM
Iron Fist =

Ray Park is awesome, but as DDD said, he can't speak very well.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/18/2009, 12:18 AM
@Tyler: I still think he can pull it off. And I remember who you mean now. That was great when the body just falls down and hits the glass. What has Charlie Hannum been in?

@DDD: The Abyss was pretty good by the way. But only good enough for 3 stars out of 4.

Either of you two see Platoon or Schlinder's List?
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 12:25 AM
i voted for quinto...

Photobucket
parascythe - 8/18/2009, 12:28 AM
Check out Tyler's CAp fan trailer description in Fan Fic. It rocks!!!
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 12:29 AM
I just can't see Quinto as Namor.
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 12:30 AM
Thanks for the article pimpin' Critic :)

Hunnam is most famous for Sons of Anarchy, it's a tv show on the channel FX.

I can't see Quinto as Namor either.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/18/2009, 12:31 AM
@Tyler: I've heard of it, but never watched it. Is it any good.
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 12:36 AM
VOTE VIN PPL!!!

VIN DIESEL FOR NAMOR!!!

end of! ; )
LEEE777 - 8/18/2009, 12:36 AM
Critic: I've only watched a few episodes, but it is pretty good from what I've seen.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/18/2009, 12:39 AM
@LEEE: Did you say on JMAN's results page that you didn't like Hellboy 2??

@Tyler: He can be TOAD!!!

Saddest part in Platoon:

TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 12:39 AM
@Tyler: Maybe I will watch a few.

Watch that video guys, best role Dafoe did as a good guy. :)
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 12:41 AM
He said Goss was the down side of Hellboy 2, even though he was awesome, but he said he loved the movie.

InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/18/2009, 12:41 AM
@Tyler: Oh, ok I misunderstood him. I liked Goss' role in the film.

@LEEE: Sorry man, but Goss was still good in that film.

Luke Goss for NAMOR!!!!!!!!!!
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 12:43 AM
Yeah, I loved Goss in Hellboy 2. He was pretty damn bad ass.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/18/2009, 12:44 AM
@Tyler: He was, oh yeah. Looks like I will also be watching the Avatar DAy footage online. Turns out its not playing at the IMAX near me. I go on the site for 2 hours (it crashed today) and only to find out that its not playing anywhere near me.

Here's the music from that clip.

TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 12:45 AM
@Tyler: I listened to Polylamorous (hope thats spelled right), but I didn't like the song though. First song by them I didn't like. There was an awesome tribute vid of Deadpool with Dance With the Devil on YouTube, but it got taken down.
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 12:47 AM
TYLER u want that bad ASS
LEEE777 - 8/18/2009, 12:47 AM
The perfect Deadpool song that isn't by BB is "Bullet With A Name" I saw a video of all the Deadpool scenes from Hulk Vs, and it started with that song, and I knew it was perfect.

Lee: You want the Pacifier
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/18/2009, 12:50 AM
I'm sure no one cares, but I think Quinto or Rhys-Meyers bring both the acting presence, and the sense of pride and danger to the role.

Both can really act a guy who thinks he deserves the respect of everyone around him, with an edge of- if you don't bow to me right fu&*ing now I'll kill you and everyone you ever met (Henry VIII and Sylar respectively)

Plus they both have the sharp angular looks characteristic of Namor, and a cross between delicate royal and crazy psychopath faces, which lets be honest, fits Namor to a T :)
DannyRand401 - 8/18/2009, 12:53 AM
@Tyler: Come to think of it, the only good Vin Diesel movie is either The Fast and The Furious or Saving Private Ryan.
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 12:53 AM
And in Saving Private Ryan he got killed off in the first 25 minutes hehe.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/18/2009, 12:55 AM
@DannyRand: We care, who do you want for IRon Fist?

@Tyler: Got a point there. Hit by a sniper if I remember correctly. That is one of Spielberg's best films. Well, next to Schnidler's List and the Indy movies. E.T. was pretty good though too.
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 12:58 AM
im back people so vote Jason Behr....

:)
teabag - 8/18/2009, 12:59 AM
@Teabag: NOOOO!!!!! Luke Goss!!!
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 1:00 AM
@Teabag: NOOOO!!!!! Luke Goss!!!
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 1:00 AM
Like I said, Vin's nose is so freakin' enormous IT could actually play the SEA! lol But Vin has trouble playing' anything, although I did like him in Pitch Black!

Vin could maybe play Orca!

But he was passable in The Fast and the Furious. To me, the car was the real star tho!
DDD - 8/18/2009, 1:00 AM
Critic: Yeah he did get killed by a sniper. SPR is definitely one of my fav. films I've seen.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/18/2009, 1:02 AM
Say no to Quinto :)

Vin could play a bottle nosed dolphin or something

Jason Behr for Namor

or goss :P
teabag - 8/18/2009, 1:07 AM
Vin could play a little fish that passes Namor by in the ocean.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/18/2009, 1:10 AM
Top Ten best films ever: The Shawshank Redemption, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Schlinder's List, JFK, Watchmen, Boyz in the Hood, Saving Private Ryan, Forrest Gump, Spider-Man 2, The Dark Knight. Thats a rough estimate and is not in order. I know I forgot one or two or them.

@DDD: LOL!!!

@Tyler: Same here. LMAO!!!!

@teabag: Besides that movie (I forget which one) that you guys mentionted earlier. What else has Behr been in?
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 1:10 AM
Got a question here, off the subject for a sec. What's the best war film?
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 1:13 AM
I change the Dark Knight to Platoon on my list there.
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 1:14 AM
I really only know what my favorite movie ever is, and the rest I can't put them in order.

Top 10:

1. Fight Club
(Rest aren't in any order)
2. Saving Private Ryan
3. Dark Knight
4. Watchmen
5. The Prestige
6. District 9
7. Terminator 2
8. Forrest Gump

Jason Behr is Namor ....he has the ears already

oh and i think i know why LEEE want Vin...he probably has this on his bedroom ceiling.....

lol :P
teabag - 8/18/2009, 1:18 AM
I think a lot of people would agree with me that Saving Private Ryan was the best war movie of all time...but that's a tough question.
DDD - 8/18/2009, 1:20 AM
He did post that pic of Vin in his Avengers fan cast after all...
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/18/2009, 1:20 AM
Crap I forgot The Departed!!!

Here's a revised version:

1. The Shawshank Redemption
(like Tyler, the rest aren't in order, it would take forever to order these)
2. The Departed
3. Boyz in the Hood
4. Saving Private Ryan
5. Watchmen
6. Terminator 2: Judgement Day
7. JFK
8. Schlinder's List
9. Forrest Gump
10. Tie between five movies: Spider-Man 2, The Dark Knight, Clerks 2 (I loved that film), Platoon, and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 1:23 AM
Yeah, Departed is easily in my top 20.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/18/2009, 1:25 AM
@DDD: Yeah, that or Platoon

@teabag: LMAO!!!!!!!! Thanks man.

@Tyler: LOL!!!! Departed was the best film of 2006. But it can't beat The Shawshank Redemption!!!!!
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 1:25 AM
Other war movies...Apocalypse Now, Platoon (like you said @Critic), Flags of Our Fathers, The Deer Hunter, and The Red Thin Line...
DDD - 8/18/2009, 1:28 AM
God, I really need to see Shawshank. I love Frank Darabont, The Mist was freaking awesome! (I don't care what the critics say)
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/18/2009, 1:29 AM
I really liked The Mist...especially that tough old lady fightin' the alien spiders with fire...classic...lol
DDD - 8/18/2009, 1:31 AM
@Tyler: You must SEE IT!!!!!!!!!!! Read the novella by Stephen King too... Also very good. The Mist ruled!!!! I never got to read that, that is another novella by King. Stephen King RULES!!!!!

@DDD: :) Awesome man!!
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 1:33 AM
Awesome =

InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/18/2009, 1:34 AM
@Tyler: I never realized Darabont directed all these: NOES 3, Shawshank, Green Mile, Mist, Majestic. He must like Stephen King. I love that monster.
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 1:35 AM
Best comic book movie???
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 1:36 AM
Watchmen
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/18/2009, 1:36 AM
@Critic, one of my favorite movies of all times that a person could call a war movie, The Dirty Dozen...the one all the other "Group Of Fighting Commandos" movies have all followed.
DDD - 8/18/2009, 1:37 AM
The Mist is great but you have to watch it in B&W to get the best effect!!

Cant believe people are voting Namor to be Gay!!!!

Jason Behr for Namor

Namor.....

Jason Behr....

Perfect match..lol :)

teabag - 8/18/2009, 1:38 AM
Watchmen...even over the Dark Knight.
DDD - 8/18/2009, 1:39 AM
@Tyler: A tie between Spider-Man 2 (preferrably 2.1), Watchmen, Hellboy 2, and The Dark Knight

@teabag: ok, you've convinced me, he is my second choice. But still, Goss for Namor!!!!

@DDD: I think I know what you mean. Oh, I liked Abyss by the way. But I felt it could have been better. Still, Cameron blew me away with those effects. Pretty good for 1989.
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 1:41 AM
I agree Watchmen > Dark Knight

Best Watchmen scene?

Rorschach's death IMO
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/18/2009, 1:41 AM
Right you are @tea... Jason Behr was born to play Namor...seething rage...chiseled body...Icy eyes...perfect...I don't know why the majority are voting for Rhys-Meyers...
DDD - 8/18/2009, 1:43 AM
@Tyler/DDD: I also agree... But still, Batman would whip Rorschach's a$$!!! Rorschach rules though!!! I bet you guys never noticed, but he's left-handed. Look at when he writes in his journal (in the graphic novel, not the movie) and you will see.
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 1:43 AM
@Tyler: DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best scene ever!!!
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 1:44 AM
Awesome for 1989 @critic...I really loved the idea of the ocean-based alien lifeforms!
DDD - 8/18/2009, 1:45 AM
TDK isnt even in my top 5....it just doesnt feel like a comic book movie to me...more comic book inspired

Id have to go with Spiderman 2....that felt like i was watching the old comics come to life :)

Critic@ good man now just change the word second to first ..lol :)

DDD@ its a sad state of affairs when a guy who has less talent then Diesels left nipple is in the lead :(
teabag - 8/18/2009, 1:45 AM
It's my fav. because I remember how I was feeling when I first saw the scene in the theater. I hadn't read the GN at the time, so I didn't know what was going to happen. It was incredibly tense and emotional, with that subtle music playing in the background, and when Manhattan actually did it, I blinked a bunch of times since I couldn't believe it.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/18/2009, 1:47 AM
@Tyler:

@teabag: LOL!!! Spidey 2 ruled!!! I liked Spidey 3 as well though.

@DDD: Same here, did you see the special edition, thats the one I watched.

TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 1:48 AM
Rorschach's bloody snow-angel was the most poetic/yet horrific scenes I think I've ever experienced in a theater...He just wouldn't comprOmise his principles! AWESOMENESS!
DDD - 8/18/2009, 1:49 AM
@Tyler: I read the graphic novel about 3 times before the film came out, but I hadn't expected it either. That was because of the rumors that the ending was changed. I even shed a tear for Rorschach there in the IMAX theatre. That music was perfect!!!
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 1:49 AM
@DDD: Yes it was, that blood stain was better than the one in the comic. It was the smiley face blood drop stain if you guys forgot. :)
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 1:51 AM
Did anyone get Avatar Day tickets?? I didn't, turns out the IMAX near me isn't playing it. Plus the dang site crashed today. I'm thought about suing FOX. Whos with me?
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 1:52 AM
Some of these polls sure are not coming out the way I expected them to...I'm a little perplexed and peeved...I mean a singing whore...and a suspect actor to play the King of the Sea...It just doesn't make sense to me!
DDD - 8/18/2009, 1:53 AM
But Rorschach's pure awesomeness made him win in the end, even though he died!

I read the GN after the film, and it didn't change my opinions about the film at all. I remember that while I was watching the scene, my mouth was sort of open, and as it got closer to when Doc M. obliterated him my mouth was opening more and more until it was agape when Rorschach got obliterated :_ (
InTylerWeTrust82 - 8/18/2009, 1:53 AM
You guys got the Avatar tickets?
teabag - 8/18/2009, 1:54 AM
Critic@ got mine seeing it friday :P
teabag - 8/18/2009, 1:56 AM
@teabag: No, I was talking about the free 16 minute footage Cameron is releasing in 3-D at mainly AMC and IMAX theaters in U.S. and Canada.
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 1:56 AM
That scene was so shocking I think my heart stopped for a brief moment!

I think Rorschach's death in the graphic novel fit it perfect...and the death fit the movie perfect...Snyder is not just a director, he a master artist!
DDD - 8/18/2009, 1:56 AM
@teabag: I didn't know they were releasing all over the world... Cool then. I didn't get mine as the 2 theatres in MI playing it aren't even remotely near me. Plus the site crashing pi$$ed me off. I will just watch it online.
TheCritic17 - 8/18/2009, 1:58 AM
I didn't have time for the 15 minute Imax preview unfortunately...drat..I really wanted see that
