James McAvoy's FRANKENSTEIN To Hit Theaters A Year After I, FRANKENSTEIN?
Fox has moved back the release of James McAvoy's Frankenstein by almost four months, and it'll now hit in January of 2015 instead of in October of 2014, facing off against Eric Bana's Horror Film, Beware the Night.
It seems 20th Century Fox doesn't have enough faith in Paul McGuigan's Frankenstein to officially make it a Early 2015 release. The flick was originally set for October 17, 2014, But but now it will hit on January 16, 2015, Meaning that it will hit almost exactly a year past Stuart Beattie's I, Frankenstein. Aside from a few vague hints from the director and actors, we really don't know too much about this one yet -- but expect that to change pretty soon.
The latest cinematic re-interpretation of the sci-fi/horror classic novel is headlined by former Harry Potter Daniel Radcliffe as Igor and young Professor X (i.e. award-winner James McAvoy) as Victor Von Frankenstein, alongside Jessica Brown Findlay (Downton Abbey) as the object of Igor’s affection. Chronicle screenwriter Max Landis penned the script, with Paul McGuigan (Sherlock) set to direct.
