This June, DC will be going retro - looking to its DC Collectibles Bombshell line of statues, the publisher will be launching a new set of 1940s and '50s style variant covers. Ant Lucia, who designed both the original statues and now these variants, says it's a dream come true.

"I'm so proud of the work we've accomplished on the Bombshell line and very excited to see them become part of the cover series," he told USA Today. "It has been a privilege to work with the team at DC Collectibles and watch these develop."

We've got sneak peeks at three of the covers, featuring Wonder Woman, Catwoman and Poison Ivy, and there will be 20 in total come June. Here's the full list of titles getting the Bombshell treatment:

Whether they showed balls and put male characters on any of the covers remains to be seen. I'm not overly confident. Looks like a male gaze cashgrab.

I love that the Wonder Woman one is taking inspiration from Rosie the Riveter. That's awesome!

@batcheeks They're doing a 40's/50's pin-up model approach with these covers. I'm not sure they have a male equivalent of that lol.

I suppose they could do male characters dressed up in 50's clothing. They shouldn't only appeal to one demographic.
