It's been delayed and retitled numerous times, but it looks like Warner Bros. has finally settled on a name and date for their upcoming Guy Ritchie-directed reimagining of the class King Arthur tale. The film's official title is King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword and it will arrive in theaters March 24, 2017 where it will face-off against Lionsgate's highly anticipated Power Rangers reboot. The film stars Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) as the titular King with Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) as his Guinevere.

Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we have our first two official stills from the film, one featuring Hunnam as Arthur and another showcasing the film's villain Vortigern, who is played by Jude Law (Sherlock Holmes). Speaking on his character a bit, Hunnam describes him as basically a classic Ritchie-created character: “He’s a bit rough around the edges, but he’s basically a survivor, There’s definitely a harder edge than people would imagine.” Check out the photos above or below:
The young Arthur runs the back passages of Londonium with his crew, not knowing his royal lineage until he grabs Excalibur. Instantly confronted by the sword’s influence, Arthur is forced to make up his mind. Joining the rebellion and an enigmatic young woman named Guinevere, he must learn to address her and eventually understand her magic weapon, deal with his demons and unite the people to defeat the dictator Vortigern, the man who murdered his parents and stole his crown to become king.

Charlie Hunnam was always my choice for the role of Aquaman (sigh). He has the perfect classic look of the King of Atlantis.

Such a huge fan of stories and lore of King Arthur, really hoping this is good. I just hope Guy doesn't force his style too much in this with the comedy because I just don't think it would work as well.
