Thanks but no thanks! I will pass on this.
marvel72 - 11/20/2012, 5:02 PM
download or wait for it to be shown on tv.
Nick56 - 11/20/2012, 5:08 PM
i think it looks good
Dynamo - 11/20/2012, 5:12 PM
Wow, that looks pretty bad.
kevberg - 11/20/2012, 5:16 PM
Ahhh...c'mon...its got Ian Mckellen narrating and it looks like a lighthearted kinda film.

I'll wait till a second trailer to forma a better opinion, but I'm not just writing it off.
Ironnick - 11/20/2012, 5:21 PM
CGI looks a little weak at parts, but other than that it looks good.
ManofSteel23 - 11/20/2012, 5:45 PM
looks fun, least its not lying and pretending to be serious, not a worth a trip to cinema though
Greengo - 11/20/2012, 5:50 PM

And THIS is the guy directing the next X-Men movie.

TheMadman - 11/20/2012, 5:51 PM
Better work on that CG, otherwise...
RorMachine - 11/20/2012, 5:53 PM
Yes, and it's also the guy that directed the best X-Men movie.

This does look rubbish though. Bad CGI, cringey dialog, looks to be pretty sub par acting too. Course you can't tell everything from a trailer but I'll have to hear great things before seeing it based on this.

What a lovely analogy. I'm sure at least 3 or 4 people value your opinion on movies..I'm not one of them..but thanks for sharing.

RedeyeJedi - 11/20/2012, 6:16 PM
Well that looks pretty stupid. Although, I guess I wasn't expecting much anyway.
RorMachine - 11/20/2012, 6:17 PM
haha, look I was just havin a didn't like the movies, I did, let's just leave it at that.
Funsize - 11/20/2012, 6:45 PM
seems like a rotten tomato to me
Nick56 - 11/20/2012, 6:53 PM
good cast. great director. cool twist on classic story. Looks to be very entertaining
Mysterion - 11/20/2012, 7:07 PM
Is it me or does the CGI look Twilight CGI weak?
xXkryptoniteXx - 11/20/2012, 7:10 PM
Looks good, not a LOTR epic scale feel but definitely a fantasy movie that is less dark than Ridley Scott's Legend.(Tone wise)

Kinda wish that with the time they had, they could have made the CGI look even better but in the end the movie has to be good overall. Haters can hate on Singer but he does make some good movies. The only criticism i have for his movies are less cinematic action sequence. (Aside from Nightcrawler introduction in X2.)

I will watch this when the movie comes out in the theaters, it looks like a good movie to watch with friends and have a good time.
Optimus83 - 11/20/2012, 7:12 PM
Jack and the Evil Giant. ...
xXkryptoniteXx - 11/20/2012, 7:34 PM

Yup that's the guy that introduced Marvel into the Hollywood industry with Xmen 1 & 2 and also the guy who co wrote some of the Ultimate Xmen until he left the both projects for Superman Returns. Now he came back to co write and produce Xmen first class which we all know that was a bad movie **Sarcasm** and is now making it. Yup that's just the only guy that gave us X2. X2 was horrible as well right?

Just remember Singer was the first to do a great job adapting comics into the live action movies. Its so just recently that comic book movies are now being welcome as a cartoon live action movie. Ill be honest as a person who enjoys movies, I like my comic book movies to have a great story first rather than nonsense action. Also a more ground as possible to realty helps the imagination. If you take in the consideration of who they are targeting and what where there visual goal.

Singer has done some nice visual goal in his movies but I do criticize his action scenes. His action scenes are less exciting just like Nolan does with his Batman films. This is me comparing it to Avengers and Sam raimi's Spiderman. Regardless Singer is getting better and im looking for his new improvment and take for the new X men film. He knows the mytho already and knows Xmen has all these different dimension and alternative reality that he focus on story first and the rest comes.

BTW he is the guy that made a sick introduction in movies with X2. I suggest you should re watch that.
SuperSeismicMuffin - 11/20/2012, 7:37 PM
"You. Don't. Know. Jack."
They just had to use that tired line, didn't they?
Greengo - 11/20/2012, 7:59 PM
Yeah, imo neither were very good but X2 was a significant improvement from X1 and First Class was the best. Superman Returns sucked...

He wasn't the 1st to do a great job adapting comics to film, unless you're only referring to Marvel.

The stand out is The Usual Suspects.

You don't have to agree with me I just think he should stick to producing lol : )
Greengo - 11/20/2012, 8:00 PM
Sorry but this isn't very good evidence to support the notion he is getting better.
Greengo - 11/20/2012, 8:02 PM
Lmfao @ DeathbyExile
superotherside - 11/20/2012, 9:04 PM
IDK, it looks like a fun action movie to sleep though. I think I'll wait for the DVD. I'm not convinced honestly that Jack is worth this tale being retold... :P
DioFoRio - 11/20/2012, 9:18 PM
Ror's right, Last Stand was the Best X flick to date.
Optimist18 - 11/20/2012, 10:07 PM
@Dionysios I think he meant X2, seeing as how Singer didn't direct Last Stand ;).

@KamenRiderJ22 Admit it, you got owned my friend.
Caveboy0 - 11/20/2012, 10:26 PM
the teaser lookedp retty cool but man... this looks horrible. I fault the script mostly. It seems to play into some of the most awful and played out jokes you could imagine. Really? Rolling them up in dough? Nearly stabbed in the crotch? and countless other bits and gags.

To cap it all off though you have some pretty piss poor cgi.

I'd like to say that anything with Ian McShane, as a king especially, would be worth watching, but even his minor role can't possible be worth this.
evilness - 11/20/2012, 10:34 PM
looks terrible. cliche characters. cliche dialogue. boring story. terrible cgi.

bryan singer's a good director when he's not on CBMs. here's his track record with CBMs:

x-men: meh
x2: good, but nothing spectacular
superman returns: abomination
Optimist18 - 11/20/2012, 10:44 PM
@KamenRiderJ22 I'm sorry, do you consider someone who's 21 to be a "kid"? And I'm sorry, you posted on a public forum. If you wanted your little escapade to be your own "business", you should have done it elsewhere.
JDUKE25 - 11/20/2012, 10:50 PM
Looks ok. I'll wait for it to come out on tv or rent it though.
Ceejay - 11/20/2012, 10:51 PM
I don't know why they've chosen to mix in Jack and the beanstalk with Jack the Giant Killer because they are two completely different tales. it's not going to be more accurate than the 1962 version I grew up with..

Their dialogue is way too modern, they've chosen to go the way of humour for this flick so I hope it works out for them in a Monty Python way otherwise they've just shot themselves in the foot.
Oxbow - 11/20/2012, 10:52 PM
wish this was the film that Jack made in "Fables".....I always imagined that would be a good one, even if it was totally egotesticle
Oxbow - 11/20/2012, 10:52 PM
and don't anyone dare correct my spelling :P
Boekelaar - 11/20/2012, 11:38 PM
I thought the CGI in Rise of the Planet of the Apes looked crap from the trailers. But when you're actually in the cinema and completely involved with the story it doesn't matter. I didn't not watch Pete's Dragon as a kid because the dragon looked fake haha
I had no interest in this film before this trailer but now there is some growing inside me. Though to be honest I probably won't see it unless there's nothing else out at the time and some friends want to go to the movies.
I don't know why this got the green light, or any other live action movies based on fairy tales, I don't think that people really want them. They could all be great movies but people aren't going to go see movies that don't intrigue them.
Newbus - 11/20/2012, 11:43 PM
Now we know why it was delayed until 2013. It would have got slaughtered by the big guns of 2012. In fact it will probably get slaughtered in 2013.

I was hoping for something different but instead the usual cliche ridden dialogue appears. Ewan McGregor looks interesting as does the main bad guy but everyone else can go and killed and eaten by the giants as far as I care.

As for the giants the ones in Skyrim could kick these giants asses...once you felt ground shake you ran your ass off. These guys look so friendly you could have a drink with them!

Putting a spin on well known fairy tale does not make good film. S**t movie!
