The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

The Amazing Spider-Man hits theaters July 3rd, later this year.

Nice
Darantino - 1/28/2012, 6:29 AM
Don't know what to think of this movie yet. But I think this looks more Spiderish than Maguires version, no matter how much they changed the suit. I like it.
subzero1077 - 1/28/2012, 6:32 AM
Is that Spider-Man or a pencil?
TrueRedBlue - 1/28/2012, 6:35 AM
Beat him, Bruise him, And kick him down all you want, but Spider-Man never gives up! :D
TrueRedBlue - 1/28/2012, 6:38 AM
Just realized how huge the eye pieces look on the mask. I like it.
Mk616 - 1/28/2012, 6:42 AM
I hate that suit!
marvel72 - 1/28/2012, 6:42 AM
loving the costume & loving the slash marks.
Boyle360 - 1/28/2012, 6:44 AM
Our first look at the new crotch! LOL! In your face, dumbasses who thought it would be black in the movie!

CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS MOVIE!!!
Boyle360 - 1/28/2012, 6:45 AM
@subzero1077

Grimm - 1/28/2012, 6:46 AM

UnscrupalousSmurf - 1/28/2012, 6:52 AM
Hurry up and take the picture dude my ass itches!............hahahaha! This will be epic.
TheSkywalkingKnight - 1/28/2012, 6:53 AM
Look at those claw marks, I have a feeling we'll be seeing this type of Lizard at the end of the film...

deadpoolbeatsall - 1/28/2012, 7:20 AM
Thats pretty badass
dopemaster - 1/28/2012, 7:20 AM
I don't like how, in the trailer, he can stick to the top of the subway car with his feet even though he is wearing sneakers.
StrangerX - 1/28/2012, 7:27 AM
@ dopemaster- I kinda found that odd as well.
spiderneil - 1/28/2012, 7:31 AM
spidey is SUPPOSED to be skinny.
Boyle360 - 1/28/2012, 7:31 AM
It was the same throughout the Raimi movies and the comics. They don't explain how he clings through his shoes.
Hopefully they'll have a good reason in this movie.
golden123 - 1/28/2012, 7:46 AM
@Boyle360: He doesn't wear shoes in the Raimi movies or in the comics, but he does in this movie.
Mrmoviemaker09 - 1/28/2012, 7:48 AM
ummm quick question and this is just a random observation but..........doesn't this suit kinda look like the 2099 spiderman suit?...like the material its made of looks similar
Supes17 - 1/28/2012, 8:00 AM
This looks kinda lame
Spidey31 - 1/28/2012, 8:04 AM
Is there gonna be a sneak peek in Dallas?
Boyle360 - 1/28/2012, 8:05 AM
@golden123
What are you talking about? Yes he does. When he crawls up that wall for the first time he was wearing sneakers, and he has shoes on his costume.
SUPERMAN2013 - 1/28/2012, 8:06 AM
He looks alot more like peter parker in my ultimate spiderman comics, spidey is suppost to be flexible and agile, toby looked abit bulky,I like the suit I just hope they change it in the sequel, and tbh If I was a kid who wanted to make a spidey suit,Id make it look modern and cool too,not bright colours, and maybe in this movie it shows HOW he makes it,properly
AxlKomix - 1/28/2012, 8:08 AM
Looks great!

I love it when people get pissed and retaliate towards @Grif. It's called trolling. When you bitch at him, he's winning.
Mrmoviemaker09 - 1/28/2012, 8:22 AM
@Spidey31 i sure as hell hope so
StrangerX - 1/28/2012, 8:22 AM
@boyle360- True but that scene is forgivable since that's also the first scene when we see that he has those little hairs from his fingers to cling to the wall, and since he uses his hands mostly in that scene it never really says he can use his feet to cling to walls as well.
supermarioworldE - 1/28/2012, 8:32 AM
The guy's body is so thin that his head winds up looking enormous in the suit. This is why the best pictures of Garfield in the spidey suit are with his mask off.
Spidey31 - 1/28/2012, 8:40 AM
Looks great! The mask looks cool..!
SpideyMark - 1/28/2012, 8:40 AM
I made this article!
Boyle360 - 1/28/2012, 8:42 AM
@StrangerX
His arms alone wouldn't be enough to efficiently climb up the wall.
Besides we've seen him stick using only his feet plenty of times.
venomvsspidey11 - 1/28/2012, 8:49 AM
Does anybody else see a reflection in the lenses??
Boyle360 - 1/28/2012, 8:51 AM
If you look carefully at his fingers in the second picture we ever got of this suit (the one where he's crouching and has the mask on), you can see he's got some sort of pattern thingy on his fingertips which must allow the hairs to go through.
And we've seen the bottom of his shoes. They look kinda weird but might have something to do with how his feet stick with shoes on.
StrangerX - 1/28/2012, 8:51 AM
I think after last year with many bashing First Class and believing GL would be good I've tried my hardest not to bitch as much
Dev7 - 1/28/2012, 8:57 AM
I just can't get over how terrible this costume is. -_-
Eion76 - 1/28/2012, 9:07 AM
Can't wait for this film
PeterParker1991 - 1/28/2012, 9:12 AM
Very nice. Time seems to be moving really fast this year. The summer will be here literally in the blink of an eye. I can hardly wait. And for those of you complaining about a skinny Peter Parker, re read some comics. Parker was always skinny. He's not a body builder like Eddie Brock or super-soldier like Steve Rogers. Despite having newfound muscles from the spider bite, maintaining his natural skinny form is part of what makes him so relatable, realistic if you will. So stop with the hate.
merrillmind - 1/28/2012, 9:24 AM
Ok now that is how Spider-Man should look as he really has looked in most comics agile, lengthy, spider like. We really are in for such a treat trust me the comic con footage was better than any shot of Raimis movies. In that footage Andrew was more like Spider-Man than any scene Tobey ever did.He plays Spider-Man as a smart ass why he is taking care of a common thug brilliant. Andrew is such a superior actor anyone who doesn't think so needs to watch any of the following films,"Boy A""Red Riding:Part 1""The Social Network" and the phenomenal"Never Let Me Go" a true born actor with such pure raw talent far more than Tobey has ever showed in any film to date. This movie will be special trust me the early comic con footage even showed that such a great energy and real practical stunts and even the early look they gave at The Lizard their was awesome! And by July or even next monday it will look perfect. People will see this movie it will make alot of money not just because of Spider-Man but because it will be a EPIC thrill ride with Andrew showing all comic book fans how to be truly "Amazing".
joeker - 1/28/2012, 9:34 AM
i look at the costume so many times hoping it will grow on me but it doesnt its terrible
NeoBaggins - 1/28/2012, 9:51 AM
If I took a quick glance at this picture, I wouldn't even know it was supposed to be Spider-man right off. It could be Tron, Star Trek, Logans Run, Power Rangers or a track suit ad.

But I guess if I wasn't a real Spidey fan, I wouldn't care that he's not wearing his classic suit.
Ceejay - 1/28/2012, 10:13 AM
That suit is utter shite and his physique is crapola! He looks like a stick insect. Toby had the perfect physique for the suit, this guy looks stretched!

Told you before that Andrew Garfield has a ridiculously long neck and a beeeeeeg head!
PapaMidnight - 1/28/2012, 10:16 AM
Well, i don't like this suit... maybe in motion should look better.
@Neo, do you remember the old "faithfull to the source material" argument? Yeah...
Ceejay - 1/28/2012, 10:22 AM

They had it right the first time with the right guy, with the right physique!

This is less a reboot and more a regression!
OnLeatherWings - 1/28/2012, 10:23 AM
starting too like this one a lot more now. its kinda the underdog this summer but i think itll turn out to be amazing and surprise everyone much like first class did...imo. wont beat tdkr.
NeoBaggins - 1/28/2012, 10:39 AM
@FatherMidnight Which one? lol In this particular case though, I hold Spider-man within strict guidelines when it comes to his suit. He's defined by it. Spider-man is literally the sight of Spider-man, the suit.

Liberties were taken with X-MEN because you really couldn't get away with the yellow and blue spandex. Burton ushered in the all black rubber-armor look because anyone dressed like Adam West in tights... would be stabbed to death. Bane's look in the comics in live-action? Exactly.

But when you get to a character like Spider-man, you don't go buckwild on a classic. Raimi's suit IS Spider-men, despite a few lies haters tell here. The only thing they did was add the raised, silver webbing. They had an opportunity here (TASM) to get the suit EXACTLY like the comics and I assume in their need to be different from the current films, they created this swirly track-man lucha-wrestler shit.

They could have put Garfield in the red and blues suit, defined black webbing with the big white eyes. I don't think the suit can make or break the movie, but it's a shame. He looks like a knock-off Spider-man toy from the flea market. Spider-Guy.

There we go.
That's better.
NeoBaggins - 1/28/2012, 10:56 AM
Tobey had the classic Spider-man build; not hulking, but not skinny either. Garfield has a more Ultimates or newer Spider-man physique. So I wouldn't go too hard on him for being skinny since it's an actual attribute at some point in the comics. His stupid hair? I don't know.
PoPcornDude - 1/28/2012, 11:20 AM
after The Avengers, this is the movie I'm most looking forward to see, the trailer looked really good !

I hope they make this a Gwen trilogy where in the 3rd movie, Green Goblin kills Gwen, that would be AMAZING !!!
misner89 - 1/28/2012, 11:25 AM
looks like he got messed up man thats sickkk sooo cant wait for this movie
marvel72 - 1/28/2012, 11:28 AM
a quick glance you can tell its spider-man,a long hard stare at bane & you couldn't tell who it was meant to be.

unless you've been following the dark knight rises from day one.
JDUKE25 - 1/28/2012, 12:02 PM
I love it.
