Superman director Zack Snyder may recast Brandon Routh as the Man of Steel afer being impressed by fans...

Originally WB demanded an all-new cast after they were underwhelmed by Superman Returns' weak box office take.

But Zack revealed that Brandon WILL be considered for the role after he saw an online fan campaign (maybe on CBM?) to have the star reinstated.

"I know!" he told the News of the World. "I didn't realise there would be such a groundswell."

Same would go for Welling really, come to think of it. And that coming from me is huge since i really [frick]ing hate Superboy Welling. That guy couldn't look his age even with Zeus's beard on!!! But the truth is niether of them will be as good as Dean Cain.

He's bigger than Bale, Downey,Keaton,Cain and I can name a few more who's played heroes in CBM's OR T.V. shows. Routh needs another crack at it I personally feel Singer was the problem not Routh. Hopefully this article has some juice to it and we could possibly see ROUTH back!!!

I mean, if he was that startled by the fans voices, it would be concidered huge news for him to publically state that he would actually concider him for the role on account of the fans' support for Routh's return. What makes that brittish tabloid paper worthy of such a huge news? I'd be gitty if it was true cause i did very much enjoy Routh but i'd hate to be dissapointed again after the whole Brad Pitt as He-Man debacle.

He was easily the best thing about that movie, and I think that it is extremely important WHO plays Supes in Man of Steel. Unless you are doing JLA and recasting Batman as well as Superman at the same time, it really makes no sense for another Superman. You are risking alienating both the existing audience and the potential new audience that's out there for Superman by casting a new actor for the second time in five years. The only exception to this would be Tom Welling, who has a familiarity with audiences after ten years of Smallville. Marvel found this out with Edward Norton and "The Incredible Hulk," a very good movie that suffered from the confusion of audiences with Eric Hana's "Hulk" just a few years ago. For some reason Marvel is ready to take this risk again with Mark Ruffalo playing the Hulk in the Avengers, but at least he will have RDJ, SLJ, etc. etc. to lean on. You cast a new Superman and he's out there on his own, a very risky proposition for WB and DC... To me, it's either Routh or Welling in the role (Have to admit Bomer is intriguing, but the risk?), the iconic role of Superman, that HAS to be done right this time....

With a great director like Zack Snyder, Routh would really deliver an amazing performance as Superman instead of that ridiculous impression of Christopher Reeve that Bryan Singer forced him to do. I still think that Welling deserves a shot after his performance in the 200th episode of Smallville though... :P

It's like wanting Tobey to be Spiderman in the reboot with a totally different cast, it makes no sense at all. I could see if the guy was a great actor, but he's obviously not or he would be doing movies right now and not Chuck episodes. Oh wait sorry, I forgot the one movie role he did get.....a gay porn star.
