Psylocke & Dazzler: The Road Taken

After months of freedom from the hands of the Sisterhood, Psylocke has gained a very close friendship to Dazzler; friends once, best friends now. Dazzler was the one to save Psylocke from basically herself, and showed she was not afraid to take Betsy out if needed. But, even though it caused Betsy harm, it only brought them together. Now, Psylocke will have to take on the Sisterhood once again, but this time, she will have the help of Dazzler. The Sisterhood is back for revenge on Psylocke, but little do they know, Betsy has her own vengeance planned. To draw Psylocke's attention, the Sisterhood go out of their way to attack mutants weaker than they are, and even using those weak ones to attack Psylocke, and even her fellow X-men. Betsy sees this as her chance to take on The Black Queen, and her trusting followers: Spiral, Lady Deathstrike, Lady Mastermind, Mastermind 2, and Chimera. She refuses help from anyone, with the exception of Alison/Dazzler. Together, they set out on the ultimate adventure to save not only the innocent lives that are being taken, but also their own lives. Together they face new threats, old enemies, and the struggle of being a hero.

(It is a work in progress, so be patient with it)

THE CAST AND CHARACTER DETAILS

Psylocke and Dazzler:

Psylocke:

ACTRESS: Elodie Yung
AGE: 31
HEIGHT: 5'6
NOTABLE ROLES: District 13-Ultimatum, GI Joe: Retaliation

I chose the new rising actress, Elodie Yung as Psylocke. I chose this choice weeks ago, and I am sticking with her. She has a natural ability to kick ass gracefully, mu like Psylocke. There's also the fact she is such a fantastic and beautiful actress. She is French, so she can easily do Betsy's british accent. And even though I have not seen her do comedic work, I am positive she can pull off Psylocke's darker humor that she has shown to have and that I have put into my fanfic. I think she'd be perfect for the Psylocke that the comics and I have created.

CHARACTER: In my fanfic, Psylocke will be much like the comic Psylocke: Dedicated, badass, brutal in battle, and fiercely caring. She will be Dazzler's bestfriend after the fallout with the Sisterhood, and is now on her way to have her final battle with them. She is also great friends with Storm and Rogue.

Dazzler:

ACTRESS: Malin Akerman
AGE: 34
HEIGHT: 5'7
NOTABLE ROLES: Catch .44, Rock of Ages, Watchmen

This is not who I would normally use. I usually do go for younger actresses for this role, because on screen, I'd like to see Ali portrayed much younger. But, since this is based completely after an event in the comics, she needs to be her proper age, and definitely needs to be close to Psylocke's age. But, I do think Malin would be perfect. She has shown she can handle Dazzler's quick wit, loving personality, and kick-ass attitude. In Watchmen she showed her ability to play a multi-layered character, who was not afriad to kick butt. While in Rock of Ages, she showed her singing abilities...and lithe body. She is honestly perfect for an older Dazzler.

CHARACTER: Dazzler has taken on a leading role in this, and will follow Betsy into battle alone, with no other X-man. She will have her witty attitude, sass, and of course, her singing talents. She will take on her own personality through the story, where she will show she will take anyone down who gets in her way.

THE VILLAINS

Madelyne Pryor: Jessica Chastain

AGE: 35
HEIGHT: 5'4
NOTABLE ROLES: Jolene, The Help, The Debt

This may seem like an odd choice, but since this is my Jean Grey choice, and Jean and Madelyne are clones, it only makes sense. Plus, Jessica has proven she is fully capable of playing seductive and mean characters, In Jolene, she was seductive and sexy, and made me want more of her. She has the icy glare needed, and the action abilities (though Madelyne will not take part in much action). I believe she could easily pull off such an evil character and manipulate the shit out of people.

CHARACTER: Madelyne, the Black Queen, is the leader and founder of the Sisterhood. She is evil, cruel, and completely seductive. She has a multitude of powers and followers, only making her stronger. She is out to destroy the X-men, which brings Psylocke into play. Let's just say: She does not have a happy ending.

Spiral: Sienna Guillory

AGE: 37
HEIGHT: 5'6
NOTABLE ROLES: Eragon, Inkheart,The Resident Evil Films

Sienna has shown her skills in dramatic, action, and fantasy genres. She could take Spiral on and fit perfectly. She has the perfect look and voice down too. In the Resident Evil films, she ended up being really evil and kick-ass, and showed characteristics needed for Spiral. Plus, she is no stranger to characters with powers beyond the human mind. I think she would be great!

CHARACTER: Spiral serves as the Queen's right hand (wo)man, who stops at nothing to take her target out. She sees Psylocke as a threat, and is glad to go after her. She is fierce, cunning, and brave, but also seems rather psychotic in ways.

Lady Deathstrike: Mika Nakashima

AGE: 29
HEIGHT: 5'3
NOTABLE ROLES: Nana, Resident Evil 4 & 5

Though she is better known as a singer, she is also a good actress. This role will honestly not require too much dialogue, but will involve intense action. She showed her ability to be extremely rough and horrible in the RE films, and I am sure she could take that to the next level and train for this. She also has the correct look down. Her sharp features and icy eyes make her look beyond wonderful.

CHARACTER: She is a cybernetically advanced assassin, with adamantium covered bones. She is completely deadly, and like Spiral, will kill anyone if needed. She will have a one-on-one battle with Psylocke, where both nearly die.

Lady Mastermind: Nicky Whelan

AGE: 31
HEIGHT: 5'5
NOTABLE ROLES: Hall Pass, Scrubs, Halloween 2

For the bitchy and arrogant Regan Wyngarde, I chose 31 year old Australian actress, Nicky Whelan. I wanted an actress who is not well known, but is completely sexy and fit. I have seen Nicky play many nice characters, and I think she could take on this character with ease. She has the correct body, and as a fitness model, she is already trained in various fighting styles. She would just need to be trained in weaponry. I think she would be great!

CHARACTER: Regan is the daughter of the famous illusionist mutant, Mastermind. She has been shown to be spoiled, bratty, bitchy, and also two-faced. She has a strong hatred for many characters, especially her sister and fellow Sisterhood member, Mastermind 2 (Martinique). She is a powerful illusionist and low-level telepath.

Mastermind 2: Jenna Dewan

AGE: 31
HEIGHT: 5'3
NOTABLE ROLES: Tamara, Step Up, American Horror Story: Asylum

Jenna has been set to play the Magdalena (a famous comic hero) for some time now, but it doesn't look like that will ever happen, sadly. But, I do think she deserves some CBM love! She is a trained dancer, model and actress, and as a dancer, she can easily take on the action needed. In the movie, Tamara, she played a kind of psychotic witch character, and proved she could be seductively evil. This allows be to know she can play one of Marvel's brattiest characters around.

CHARACTER: Martinique is the sister of Regan Wyngarde/Lady Mastermind, and shares the same hatred her sister has for her. She is an illusionist, and deadly with a gun. She is taken out by Dazzler in battle rather quickly, though.

Chimera: Annalynne McCord

AGE: 25
HEIGHT: 5'7
NOTABLE ROLES: Excision, 90210, Day of the Dead

Annaylynne is well known with the teenage crowd due to her work in the hit show, 90210, where she plays Naomi Clark. She has shown she can play double crossing characters, and even has shown she canm handle characters who aren't exactly right in the head. In Ecision she was literally insane. While in Day of the Dead, she showed she could handle physical roles. I think she could easily handle Chimera, if she was trained a bit more.

CHARACTER: In this, Chimera will serve as the Queen's pawn. She is viewed as the "weak link" of the group, and when she finds out, she ends uphelping Psylocke and Dazzler, and eventually chooses the X-men. First, she will help the Sisterhood, though, and will face off with Dazzler.

SUPPORTING CHARACTERS

Storm: Lesley Ann-Brandt

AGE: 29
HEIGHT: 5'8
NOTABLE ROLES: Spartacus: Vengeance and Gods of the Arena, Zombie Apocalypse, Chuck

I wanted a true African actress, who could portray Storm's Goddess-esque nature. Lesley portrayed Naevia in the Spartacus show, and showed Storm's fierce and loving personality. With extra training, and the famous white hair, she would be absolutely stunning. Plus, she just seems like she would be scary in battle!

CHARACTER: Like Storm in the comics, she is the X-men's motherly figure and moral compass. She is Psylocke and Dazzler's great friend, and hangs out with them when they are not in uniform. This is not an overly large role, but it is an important one!

Wolverine: Jon Bernthal

AGE: 36
HEIGHT: 5'10
NOTABLE ROLES: The Walking Dead

I have been using this choice since the first season of The Walking Dead and I was one of the people to come up with this choice, so I am not going to quit using him now. Jon was fantastic on The Walking Dead and portrayed many of Logan's douchey tendencies. He can match Wolverine's personality to the "T" and can easily pull off his bloody skills on the battle field. Plus, he is close to the correct height, standing at 5'10.

CHARACTER: Wolverine does not have a large role, but we needed a man somewhere in here! He tries to help Psylocke out, but she ultimately refuses it. You would think he would let Betsy and Ali leave to fight their battle, but he tries to get them to stay for their own safety...but Storm basically tells his to back the f*ck off, but in a very polite way.

Rogue: Taylor Cole

AGE: 28
HEIGHT: 5'8
NOTABLE ROLES: Supernatural, The Event, Heroes

This is another role I would usually cast someone younger in, but since it is an attachment to the comics, and not based off of my vision on how a film should be handled, I chose someone closer to Rogue's true age. I loved Taylor in Supernatural, and when she moved on to shows like The Event, where she pulls off some fantastic action, I fell in love with her. I support her for Wonder Woman, but felt she would fit Rogue perfectly well. She can easily pull off Rogue's vulnerability, along with her leadership skills. She defines what a badass woman is and since she is from Texas, she could easily do the accent. She'd be perfection.

CHARACTER: She is one of Psylocke's friends, and is not completely trusted by Dazzler even after all of these years (which she does express). She wants to do nothing but help, which is denied quickly by Dazzler. But she still supports them, and even ends up in one battle between Spiral.

Pixie: Freya Mavor

AGE: 19
HEIGHT: 5'10
NOTABLE ROLES: Skins

I wanted someone who was actually close to Pixie's nationality, which would be Welsh. Freya is Scottish, which would allow her to do the accent perfectly. Freya is not well known, but she is a fantastic actress. Much like Pixie, she is used to playing characters who have shifted over time. Pixie was bubbly and fun, and later became darker (but still fun). I think Freya could portray either Pixie; happy, fun, and bubbly, or dark, souless, and fun.

CHARACTER: Once a huge fangirl of Dazzler, now one of her closest friends. She is a member of the X-men, and shares fierce loyalties to them, rather than her half-sisters, the Mastermind's. She does get attacked by the Mastermind's, but is saved by Psylocke and Dazzler.

- Funny you mention Malin Akerman's singing talents. According to IMDB, she "is the lead singer of a rock band named Ozono". I think she could work, although is she more suited to rock music?
- I'm a little unsure about Jessica Chastain. She has a too predictable tragic look to her for Jean Grey, even if she has a great bosom. Then again, I haven't seen Jolene, mind you, so ignore my biased opinions.
- I've got a crush on both Nicky Whelan and Jenna Dewan. They're insanely alluring in those picturs you have next to the images of who they're playing. Dewan even knows how to dance since Step Up, so no doubt can she do action.
- I'm intrigued over the list of films that McCord was part of. But Day of the Dead, from what I heard, sucks ass. Still, I like her as an actress moreso often than not.
- Ah, I see we're dabbling in Skins! Well, you sure picked an actress of almost correct nationality, I'll give you that! Although Mavor is rather tall and doesn't have an impish voice. But that's just an opinion!

An overall great cast that we really needed around here!
tweeeeenkies3 - 11/3/2012, 9:00 PM
@RoadDog...Thanks for the comment!

Malin does do rock, but so has Dazzler. Singing isn't too important anyways, so it's fine.

I can understand why you would have a crush on Nicky and Jenna! They are drop dead gorgeous.

Day of the Dead did suck, but I really enjoyed Annalynne. She is a good actress, and very gorgeous.

Freya is kind of tall, but that can be hidden. As long as Freya can portray Pixie's sweeter voice, I am fine, really.

Thanks, though! I am glad you liked it.

OK...this is FANTASTIC.

First off, ignoring your casting choices, THIS is how a fancast should look on this site. Glad to see someone putting effort into it :)

Secondly, I LOVE the idea. A nearly all female cast featuring some of the coolest X-Chicks? Awesome. Personally, I think you could pick someone better for Dazzler, but Akerman would work fine. As for the rest, you have some lovely ladies chosen for these parts, your choice for Storm seems original and quite inspired.

And as for your token male, Bernthal is by far the best potential Wolverine out there.

Inspiring! Different than the Justice League / Avengers fan cast that are so common. Mainly female cast is bold. I love Taylor Cole, never would've thought of her for Rogue but it could work for sure! It still amazes me the impact she had with one appearance on an early episode of Supernatural. The lead roles are great too, nice explanation too since I've always seen Dazzler cast younger like Aly Michalka who I've always thought was a good choice but Maline Akerman works for me big time! Her and Yung are both very badass chicks!
tweeeeenkies3 - 11/4/2012, 5:45 AM
@Rhys...Thank you! I am glad you can see the effort I put into it, because many people don't put effort into their castings.

Psylocke and Dazzler are my favorite X-ladies, so I completely agree with you on them being some of the coolest! I know there is probably someone better than Malin, but I loved her voice in Rock of Ages, and her acting is also fantastic!

Thanks again!
tweeeeenkies3 - 11/4/2012, 5:48 AM
@Kakarot...Thank you very much! I am tiredof all of the half-assed Justice League casts, so thinking outside of the box works for me.

I also love Taylor, and she never gets enough love. So I needed her in a cast, and Rogue fit her perfectly. I usually cast younger women as Dazzler as well, but it's good you see why I casted someone older! Malin and Elodie are very badass!
Theunderdog - 11/4/2012, 6:16 AM
I hope this not for a movie. Do you really want those two have their own movie? it would be like Charlie's angels I don't think they should get their spin off that I have said

But wonderful cast really awesome I loved your wolverine and Pixie and madleyen pryor. malin is oky for dazzler hope if u went with younger actress I loved your psylock she fits the bell I had her once for Elektra I actually I don't like psylocke asian version I always loved the british.

I am not fan of ur rogue Taylor looks like a barbie Rogue supposed to be edgy and tomboy (just like she was in her first appearance)
tweeeeenkies3 - 11/4/2012, 6:24 AM
@Theunderdog...I explained this is for a fanfic I am writing, not a movie. I even had the whole plot to the fanfic at the top.

Thanks for the comment on the cast. I am glad you like it. But, I also explained I did not go for a younger actress for two reasons:

1. The fanfic takes place after a true event in the comics. Dazzler is about 30-35 in the comics now. I needed someone close to my Psylocke's age.

2. A young actress is what I usually cast for Dazzler (Riley Keough) IF it was a fancast for the whole X-men. This is not. This is specifically for Psylocke and Dazzler on their own adventure after a true event in the comics.

I disagree on Taylor looking like a Barbie Rogue. I did choose a very "pretty" picture of her, but she has a hard jawline and cheek bone, which give her an edgy look. But I don't exactly see Rogue's CURRENT look as edgy or tomboy at all. This is based on a current timeline.

But, thank you!
nowtheresaBATman - 11/4/2012, 7:36 AM
beDazzling fan-cat tweeeeenkies! Really diggin' your Psylocke pick.

Amber Heard is my pick for Rogue though. I've always imagined Rogue as more of a southern belle sweetheart & Amber's also from Texas which should certainly help w/ the accent...I just think Taylor looks a little too edgy. Villian edgy. She'd be good as a Madeline Pryor type character. Your reasoning for your Madeline pick is sound though since her & Jean are clones. Good stuff :)
FlixMentallo21 - 11/4/2012, 7:43 AM
Pretty nice idea for a female-led flick. (I hope no one kills me if I say it's a "meta-human chick flick".)

When you have a minute, check out my latest fancast: "Metallix: The Animated Series".

And maybe you could help me come up with an animated movie fancast based on the 1984 Marvel Graphic Novel "Dazzler: The Movie".
tweeeeenkies3 - 11/4/2012, 7:59 AM
@nowtheresaBATman...Thank you! I am glad you like it.

I never saw Taylor as a villain, just because she has always played the heroic type characters before...But Taylor is also from Texas. She is from Arlington Texas to be exact, so she could do the southern accent as well. Amber is a good choice, though!
tweeeeenkies3 - 11/4/2012, 8:00 AM
@FlixMentallo...Thank you. No, no one would kill you, because it's true, haha!

I will definitely check it out!
And, I'd be glad to help. Send me an email if you want.

Nice story ideas TWEEEEENKIES@!

Wonderful, beautiful cast!

MALIN is good for the older present DAZZLER!

You got my WONDER WOMAN for ROGUE, TAYLOR is a nice choice for
her. Finally someone cast a little-older ROGUE, instead of a
teenager.

Very nice job!
tweeeeenkies3 - 11/4/2012, 1:02 PM
@DDD...Thank you! I am glad you like not only the story idea, but also the cast!

Malin is a toss-up for people. Some like her, some don't. I am happy you do, because I do too.

Yeah, Rogue definitely needed an older actress casted this time. Especially since Rogue would be 28-34 in the comics now.

Thanks!
MrBlueSky - 11/4/2012, 5:35 PM
Great stuff, dude!! I like your Sisterhood picks and your picks for Dazzler and Psylocke. The only pick that I don't like is your pick Rogue. It just doesn't click with me (and I'm a die hard Lyndsy Fonseca supporter). But nice job!!

Anyway, what are you working on next?
tweeeeenkies3 - 11/4/2012, 5:46 PM
@MrBlueSky...Thanks, man! I am glad you like it. I needed someone older for Rogue, and Taylor fit the part for me, but I understand. Thanks.

IronLeprechaun - 11/5/2012, 3:48 AM
Pretty awesome!!! Malin Ackerman as Dazzler=Jizztastical!

Awesome cast can't wait for the fanfic
tweeeeenkies3 - 11/5/2012, 4:00 AM
@IronLeprechaun...Thank you!
789 - 11/5/2012, 10:08 AM
Brilliant cast I like it, though for me Elisha Cuthbert is better Dazzler and what would you say abou Sam Witwer as Wolverine?

tweeeeenkies3 - 11/5/2012, 1:48 PM
@789...Elisha fits pretty damn well. But for Witwer, I do think he is a tad too tall. Wolverine is one of the few characters I care about height for, because his height partially makes who he is. But, thank you!
