COMICS: New Info For DC's THE TRINITY WAR Event

After the news that DC Comics was planning an event dubbed The Trinity War for next year, new details have found their way online. Spoilers after the jump.

Yesterday, it was reported that DC Comics was planning a 2013 event titled "The Trinity War". Many have speculated that it would have to do with the DC Trinity of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. But now, the very reliable Bleeding Cool has received some new details about the event, as well as a gatefold foldout by Geoff Johns/Jim Lee revealing the first artwork from the event. There are some Spoilers in the following, so read at your own risk.

“The Trinity War has probably something to do with the Trinity of Evil which gets introduced in DC’s FCBD comic. Pandora is one of the Trinity.”

“It appears to be the 3 original sinners, of which Pandora has already been disclosed. Let me just say that the identities of the other 2 will surprise and amaze you.”

“I read the FCBD issue from DC last night. Trinity War probably has to do with the three sinners of the DC New. One is Pandora, the other is the [REDACTED], and weirdly the last one is the [REDACTED]. That’s right. [REDACTED] is somehow magic based now. Also, they are punished by the seven gods who gave Shazam his power.”

“In it, there is a group referred to as the “Trinity of Sin.” This group includes Pandora,[REDACTED], and [REDACTED] (I have no idea why). The Rock of Eternity, a council of powerful wizards (thanks, Geoff Johns), sentences them to [REDACTED]. This may have something do with DC’s Trinity War, but I’m not sure. Maybe Pandora, [REDACTED], and [REDACTED] versus Wonder Woman, Superman, and Batman? Who knows?”

I think this was what the New 52 was setting up for.

Looks like they were experimenting with what old and new stuff fans would enjoy more and with Trinity War, it looks like we're going to see the final result.

In other words... WOO-HOO, the old DCU might be on its way back!!!!

I thought the point of the new 52 was to make things simpler? Civil war rip off would have been better IMHO.

Does nobody on here read comics. They revealed in jl 6 that pandora and phantom stranger were the first parts of a trinity. Also I think that is billy Bateson in the photo not black Adam. And I thought that was going to be Kyle as gl but idk. Anyways this looks pretty sweet and it does seem like the heroes are fighting as deadman is controlling shazam

Is it me or does this "new" GL look non-white; maybe he is black or Hispanic. It may be a move to get a more diverse major character in the JLA. Or it could be John Stewart with a mask for once since they seem to be having a GL war happening before this.

The new GL might be John Stewart, we haven't seen him in the new DCU yet. One of the evil Trinity may be Parralax.

Correction, what I meant to say is, ee haven't seen John Stewart on Earth in the new DCU yet. I thought Multiplicity was going to be the next big thing DC does. I wonder how Trinity Wars ties into that, or if it does.

I really think that Martian Manhunter could be the third of the Trinity whose powers are inexplicably magic based now. He has had almost as many cameos as Pandora and is warning just about everyone about huge events on their way.
