When Fox labelled this as their second biggest movie after Avatar, they weren't kidding. In the latest issuse, both Kinberg and Singer tease the action sequences we are going to see in the film. Kinberg talked about the huge 3rd act battle which involves,"spaceships exploding as the surviving X-men, holed up in a monastery in Mongolia, try to stave off an assualt by the future sentinels, unstoppable, energy-draining robo-bastards" which Singer calls,"qualities of adaptability.

Amist all this there will also be a "rip-roaring humdinger of a final showdown in 1973 too, as Magneto- in many ways the film's true villain-makes a play for power." Seems like during the 3rd act the film will be jumping back and fourth between the future and the past. Empire toured the art department and they caught,"tantalising glimpses of concept drawings showing Fassbender's Magneto levitating an entire football stadium" amongst other things.

John Myhre, The production designer for the film goes on to talk about the suture sentinels, 'They're Bio-mechanical weapons, these future sentinels." John reveals more saying," they're [sentinels] able now to read a mutant's power and find a way of deflecting or using that power against them." He adds,"When they take off, and they see or hear or detect a mutant, their own job is to get there as quickly as they can and kill it." This goes in line with the leaked excerpt from the film which Colussus engages into combat with a sentinel before it adapts his powers and uses them against him..WARNING SPOILERS!"The largest mutant soldier steps up, his skin turns to STEEL. This is Peter “Colossus” Rasputin. He tries to fight the Sentinel, but– The Sentinel TRANSFORMS, its long arms turn into STEEL like Colossus, grabbing him, HAMMERING him with a massive steel fist. As Colossus falls–” It seems like the future sentinels are going to be a big problem for the mutants especially for heavy hitters like Magneto and Storm.

So what do you guys think? How pumped are you to finally see some epic battles between sentinels and mutants? Leave your thoughts down below.

AgentEX - 2/1/2014, 2:52 PM
Singer is going to destroy...

...everyone's minds with just how good this film will be.
Kurne - 2/1/2014, 2:53 PM
... ANOTHER football stadium sequence? :P
Kurne - 2/1/2014, 2:54 PM
Is he talking about the past or future? It's already been said that the future characters are only around in the first act, so the sequence he's referring to has to be in the past...
MrCBM56 - 2/1/2014, 2:55 PM
HOLY SHIT!! Magneto lifting a whole football stadium... Jumping from the past and future doing the Climax?!!!!!

TheBlackNerd - 2/1/2014, 2:57 PM

I'm with you all the way bro! Can't wait!!
Bekss - 2/1/2014, 2:57 PM
These sentinels are better than just robots. Maybe they don't look like sentinels but they are all the sentinels should be, weapons with the power to kill mutants.
They look like future robots, the sentinels were created in the 60's and they looked futuristic in that time, but not anymore.

MrCBM56 - 2/1/2014, 3:00 PM
You also might want to add a spoiler before the leaked excerpt of Colossus and the Sentinel.
ALegendaryPanda - 2/1/2014, 3:00 PM
Yeah this movie is gonna be [frick]ing awesome!!
McNyagano - 2/1/2014, 3:01 PM

Yeah sure, how do I make the text red?

Is he talking about the past or future?

What do you mean?
npamusic - 2/1/2014, 3:02 PM
Why would Simon Kinberg basically give so much away from the films third act.. that's depressing....

staypuffed - 2/1/2014, 3:02 PM
I've been excited since day one and now I'm buzzing. This is it. The number one CBM of 2014, right here.
jimoakley666 - 2/1/2014, 3:02 PM
Cannot. Fuking. Wait.
npamusic - 2/1/2014, 3:02 PM
font color = red @McNyagano
Kurne - 2/1/2014, 3:03 PM

The 3rd act bit...
ALegendaryPanda - 2/1/2014, 3:05 PM
Does anyone know when we're getting another trailer? Superbowl perhaps?
Ocelot - 2/1/2014, 3:06 PM
Magneto lifting the football stadium should be the superbowl spot.
TankD - 2/1/2014, 3:07 PM
[frick] you bryan singer.
ThePowerCosmic - 2/1/2014, 3:07 PM
So sick of Magneto as the main villain in every film. It's so lazy and boring. X-Men have so many better villains.
marvel72 - 2/1/2014, 3:08 PM
the film could go one of two ways, the future sentinels are made of magnetized metal plates so i see it either the two magneto's defeat the sentinels or take control of them.

magneto is the master magnetism after all.
McNyagano - 2/1/2014, 3:08 PM

Thanks. :)

There will be action in the future and past during the 3rd act. I think it'll will be jumping back and fourth from the two timelines whilst shit's going down.
batz11 - 2/1/2014, 3:09 PM
I'm interested...
MrCBM56 - 2/1/2014, 3:10 PM
I hate to give myself so many high expectations, (In fear of being let down), but almost every CBM this year looks to be good or great!
UltimateWarrior - 2/1/2014, 3:12 PM
This will be great, and looks spectacular. Singer is a genius.
npamusic - 2/1/2014, 3:14 PM
@McNyagano there should be a spoiler warning for the article itself, sir ;)
npamusic - 2/1/2014, 3:15 PM
Also, where is your source for this information??? Where did he talk about the films third act?
TheBlackNerd - 2/1/2014, 3:16 PM

Dag, I wish you out the spoiler alert up before I accidentally read it. That's like the 3rd or 4th spoiler I've seen in regards to this film. We're those early drafts leaks confirmed as being true or not? People were talking about them on other forums. I hope not, because I would basically go into the theater knowing what's going to happen in some areas. :(
ekrolo2 - 2/1/2014, 3:16 PM

You had Stryker in 2 and Origins, Sebastian Shaw in FC, Silver Samurai in Wolverine and Apocalypse in the next one. How is Magneto always the main villain?
MrCBM56 - 2/1/2014, 3:17 PM

Some of them were true because they were told to be pulled down.
Tucks - 2/1/2014, 3:17 PM
If you think "spaceships exploding" and "a rip-roaring humdinger of a final showdown" sounds good, wait'll you hear what the Fantastic Four reboot is doing with the Annihilation Wave!!! Oh wait... the rumored casting sucks... no hope.
MrCBM56 - 2/1/2014, 3:18 PM
The whole article isn't really a spoiler because they've OPENLY have stated most of this stuff.
gamecreatorjj - 2/1/2014, 3:22 PM
Mongolia huh? I was really hoping it would be an ancient Genosha Ruin
TheBlackNerd - 2/1/2014, 3:24 PM

Dagggggg, man :O :( I saw some "cameos" and "wolverine" heavy rumors but geez I just hope I can still enjoy the film. Did you see them all? If so do you think you'll still be able to enjoy the film?
SuperCat - 2/1/2014, 3:24 PM
I talk sh@t about Quicksilver but I know I'm gonna see this movie.
TheBlackNerd - 2/1/2014, 3:26 PM

Oh yes of course, I wasn't talking about those just the other one and of course the ones people were talking about from the previous article released not too long ago. :/
McNyagano - 2/1/2014, 3:29 PM

Sorry my man :/
UltimateWarrior - 2/1/2014, 3:36 PM
Ekrola: Unless it's made by Disney's Marvel Studios, it's shit to some, and they will bitch no matter what.
breakUbatman - 2/1/2014, 3:37 PM
Cool. I figured as much that the climax would involve both timelines. Would be cool if future characters die as a result of the 'simultaneous' conflict.

But I guess that all depends on whether the time travel results in one maleable timeline like Terminator or results in a parallel one like Trek

Its also going to be cool to see what the people upset about the recent AoS articles have to say in this thread :)
MrCBM56 - 2/1/2014, 3:41 PM

Yeah I saw them. Reading it is one thing, SEEING it is another. I'm sure I'll still (hopefully) enjoy them.
thor2273 - 2/1/2014, 3:45 PM
I can' wait. hoping after apocalypse we get a x-force movie with Cable and maybe Deadpool but in order to get 'pool right it would probably have to bo rated R.
