We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. The Amazing Spider-Man sequel will swing into theaters May 2, 2014.

looks very cool, but ill probably avoid it
HavocPrime - 4/3/2014, 1:45 PM
They advertise way too much for movies these days. You can pretty much put together the entire film through the trailers and tv spots.
McNyagano - 4/3/2014, 1:50 PM

No no you can't lol
KidGoku - 4/3/2014, 1:50 PM
May I ask, why?
KidGoku - 4/3/2014, 1:52 PM
I never thought a film could be over-marketed. they really wanna make sure you see this then
WAYNE - 4/3/2014, 1:56 PM
lol @McNyagano. i agree with you sir. ppl just need a reason to bitch
Pasto - 4/3/2014, 1:59 PM
I want this to be good, but talking to people who have seen it makes me worry.
CaptainObvious - 4/3/2014, 2:06 PM
Sure, why not?
McNyagano - 4/3/2014, 2:08 PM

What did those people say? IMO it was great film, a notch above Cap 2.
keyking - 4/3/2014, 2:15 PM
I feel like I've seen all of this movie already from trailers and tv spots...
ALmazing - 4/3/2014, 2:18 PM
@GoldenOne33-You've seen TASM2 or is that your opinion.
Arrow96 - 4/3/2014, 2:20 PM
@ALmight No, he didn't say he seen it, he said McNyagano did, and he quoted him on that.
Scarilian - 4/3/2014, 2:21 PM
Some interesting camera motions in this - especially when the lightning is travelling along via the grates. But I agree with the other commenters - we have seen far too much of this movie and I'm worried that when I see it I'll have seen most of the best parts via trailers so I'll know what's coming.

Sure its not necessary for a fan to watch all the trailers so the blame is partly on myself also - but I feel they could do with toning it back a bit and leave some surprises for the film.
Arrow96 - 4/3/2014, 2:23 PM
@Scar Remember what Webb said, there are a few surprises in the movie, and so far no massive spoilers have been reveiled.
McNyagano - 4/3/2014, 2:28 PM

It's a legitimate review. I have my review written up, just waiting to upload it towards the release of the film.
QuestiontheAnswer - 4/3/2014, 2:28 PM
Mtv is where there target audience is.
Pasto - 4/3/2014, 2:37 PM
A big complaint I heard was that the editing was bad. Someone said they play a techno/Pharrell song after [SPOILER] Gwen dies.
Jebediah - 4/3/2014, 2:39 PM
HavocPrime Yeah, I agree but I don't think it's over-marketing. is essentially an aggregate of a movie's marketing campaign. Folks who aren't as in to comic book stuff aren't as exposed to all the video, banners, etc of a campaign.

You don't want to spoil the movie you gotta have self discipline and not click lol.

My problem is when movie trailers show all the stuff in the movie in chronological order.
MrCBM56 - 4/3/2014, 3:00 PM

Did they watch the final version or a rough draft?
McNyagano - 4/3/2014, 3:02 PM

That remains to be seen.
MrCBM56 - 4/3/2014, 3:13 PM

Why do you say that? The only reason I think is because TASM2 feels so much more "superhero-y" but overall, The Winter Soldier looks so much more superb.
McNyagano - 4/3/2014, 3:17 PM

It had more emotion and felt more comic booky like you said. Can't say anymore;)
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 4/3/2014, 3:59 PM
This has got to be one the most over promoted films I have ever seen.
ReeferInferno - 4/3/2014, 4:27 PM
Is that even possible?

I mean I'm looking forward but come on... leave something for the actual movie.
theowl - 4/3/2014, 6:17 PM

of course that's bull shit
Melkaticox - 4/3/2014, 6:24 PM
@HavocPrime You really can't. I do agree they're showing way too much footage, though. The only footage Cap 2 showed were the two trailers and the leaked 10 minutes.
I'm glad I've only seen the first two (technically the first + the super bowl spot + the "enemies unite") trailers. I avoided the Electro and Final trailers like plague.

Ergh, I think I'll have to go see this movie alone. My cousin is not into Spider-Man (even though she totally saw TASM and actually liked it) and I really doubt any of my friends are into him, either. Heck, I almost couldn't convince them to see Cap 2.

Anyone feeling like traveling to Venezuela to watch the movie about a week early?
