Today the BBC have released various photos previewing the returning episodes of it's popular British sci-fi show Doctor Who.
The images released are primarily from the first of the new episodes, 'The Bells Of St.John', although some also reveal scenes from episodes two, three and four of the new run.

The 'Bells Of St.John' marks the official introduction of the Doctor's new companion Clara (Jenna-Louise Coleman). Described as a "modern-day urban thriller" and features landmarks including Westminster Bridge and London's South Bank.

The third episode - written by Sherlock's Mark Gatiss - is set aboard a submarine and will see the return of classic monsters the Ice Warriors.
Episode four will feature guest appearances from Call the Midwife's Jessica Raine and Scottish star Dougray Scott.

Eight new episodes of Doctor Who will air on Saturday nights in total, with a number of additional projects also being planned to celebrate the show's 50th anniversary later in 2013.

Already confirmed is the 3D special directed by Nick Hurran ('Asylum of the Daleks', 'The Girl Who Waited') and a drama biopic exploring the early days of Doctor Who, written by Mark Gatiss.

Via their Facebook page magazine SFX have also just revealed their cover featuring the Doctor and Clara. Although unveiled by the magazine themselves I could not find the cover in any higher quality.

Extra: Doctor Who Red Nose Day

Although often expected I thought I would bring attention to the news that The Doctor will be making a brief appearance on BBC One during this year’s charity event of Red Nose Day on Friday, 15 March.
Red Nose Day helps raise cash and transform lives across the UK and Africa. To find out more how about Red Nose Day, including ways to get involved and what you can look forward to seeing on BBC One, visit their homepage now!

The sci-fi drama will return to BBC One on Saturday, March 30 (same day for BBC America) with premiere episode 'The Bells of St John' written by showrunner Steven Moffat (Sherlock).

Jenna-Louise Coleman is the only thing I see in the pics and the only thing I really want to see.

Although CBM appears not to have many Doctor Who fans, those that watch the show may also enjoy viewing this superb fan-made opening sequence by Neonvisual.com/xandercom (Youtube) that has gaining quite a lot of attention online (so much so that to my knowledge there is a petition out there to get this on the show):

Really looking forward to the return of the Doc.

Also, on a side note, I'm pleased Hugh Jackman got to play Wolverine instead of Dougray. Jackman looks more like Logan.
