Rawson Marshall Thurber Likely to Direct ANT-MAN?
Surpassing both Zombieland's Ruben Fleischer and Anchorman's Adam McKay on the shortlist, Rawson Thurber is apparently the frontrunner to replace Edgar Wright as director of Marvel's Ant-Man
"Rawson Marshall Thurber is the frontrunner to replace Edgar Wright as the director of Marvel's Ant-Man,” multiple sources have told The Wrap. Since Wright's departure from the 2015 Marvel project a full week ago, we haven't had any clear sign as to how production would go forward especially considering he's been attached since late 2006. However, it seems that producer Kevin Feige and company have planned to keep everything in conjecture and continue with a newly rewritten script that was in turn the immediate reason for Edgar Wright's departure. So now it looks as though we have a likely frontrunner in Rawson Marshall Thurber who is known for his comedic style with films like Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story and last year's We're the Millers. So what does this mean for Ant-Man? It certainly alludes to the fact that production is thankfully moving forward despite recent setbacks.
Also According to The Wrap Marvel has refused to comment on any such things regarding Ant-Man and a representative of Rawson Marshall Thurber has also been unwilling to respond to any recent inquiries. What are your thoughts on this news?
Ant-Man will see Biochemist Dr. Hank Pym using his latest discovery, a group of subatomic particles, to create a size-altering formula. Though his first self-test goes awry, he develops an instrument that helps him communicate with and control insects. With a screenplay written by Joe Cornish; Ant-Man stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Patrick Wilson, Corey Stoll and Michael Pena, and is scheduled for release on July 17, 2015.
