How will Hawkeye appear in Thor and Avengers?

Very recently the star of "The Hurt Locker", Jeremy Renner, announced that he was in talks to play the character Hawkeye aka Clint Barton in a cameo in Thor and may have a bigger role to play in the Avengers.
Casting aside the thought of Hawkeye having a cameo in Thor seemed odd to me. I'm still pondering how Fury will find a way to have a chat with Thor. This is because it has been confirmed that Thor will remain in Asgard around 80% of the time and that his time on Earth will be spent fighting Loki and his army, or getting busy with Jane Foster. So where's the room for a cameo? After the credits? Even that doesn't make much sense sinc eneither Fury or Barton could find the God of Thunder so fast after he arrived to Earth.

What's your theory? Do any of you have ideas as to what may happen with Hawkeye in Thor?

Do you think he will even show up in Thor at all?!?!

I for one have NO idea at all, but I would certainly like to hear what you have to say. Go crazy people!

RYDEN @ Luv the glitter pic lol!!! ; D

Hopefully he'll appear in THOR on EARTH!!?

He better lol!

An like ive said all this year a nice fat cameo in AVENGERS, don't know how, theres many options but as long as he's in AVENGERS is a must an a bigger role in AVENGERS 2!

Still, don't get THOR so much, an IRON MAN 2 cameo instead would've made more sense for HAWKEYE??!

Great article Ryden! :)

After the credits, Fury and Hawkeye could be observing Thor from a distance whilst he's on Earth!? They might be watching him because of his recent appearence on Earth maybe!

At the end of Iron Man, Fury said that Stark isnt the only superhero - maybe Fury already knows about him or at the very least that might be a hit that we'll see Giant Man and Wasp (I sure hope so - The Avengers wont be the same without them!)

I sure would like to see Hawkeye in an
Ironman cameo! That would make the most
sense!

Smart move would be to end the Avengers with two cameos, one from Black Panther, and then Hawkeye. These secondary characters have to appear at some point, but they should not be part of the main story in Avengers

@Josh- Thanks man ;) and yeah that's a good idea, maybe Fury and Hawkeye talking about bringing Thor into the Avenegrs, and Hawkeye is asked to keep an eye on him or something? I'd love to see a Giant-Man and Wasp cameo..that would be sweet!!

@DDD-Yeah I agree they have so much history together.

@ASSASSIN-That's a cool idea, maybe even some form of split-screen showing both in thier respective settings. Panther running around the jungle and Hawkeye taking out some mercanaries or something, cool.

Ryden & ASSASSIN666: Yeah, thats sort of what The Ultimates did in the first story arc - they just used Black Widow and Hawkeye in the backround as part of the overall story...still, I have to admit that I'd like to see Hawkeye as part of The Avengers but as I said above I would much prefer to see the original members Giant Man and Wasp!

They could actually introduce Hank and Jan during Iron Man 2 (yeah, I know its too late and filming has finished but maybe they're keeping it secret?) with Tony being introduced to them at some point!? Either way, they have to be in The Avengers...imagine how [frick]ing epic Giant Man vs. Hulk would be!

better not underestimate Nick Fury's ability to find anyone.

Iron Man 2 cameo? They already finished principle photography and Hawkeye hasn't been cast yet, so it's highly unlikely.

Fit Hawkeye into Thor? Too easy:

If the movie goes along the lines of Thor 'crash landing' on earth after being thrown out of Asgard, Barton/Hawkeye would easily fit.

- S.H.I.E.L.D. picks up the seismic activity from Thor's landing; Fury sends a specially trained agent, Barton, to investigate and prepare to neutralize any threat (you only see his silhouette)

- While Thor is getting acclimated to earth with Jane Foster, Barton is shown working undercover at the hospital; but his association with Fury isn't disclosed to the audience.

- During a pivotal, dramatic scene Barton reveals himself to Thor (probably with an arrow pointed at his head) and prepares to take him out as per Fury's orders; but he's conflicted. He and Thor both come to a stalemate (Barton realizes Thor isn't a threat, Thor doesn't want to hurt Barton).

- Thor goes back to Asgard to do his thing, Barton returns to Fury and tells him that the 'threat' is bigger and stranger than S.H.I.E.L.D. realizes. He suggests that Fury gets on good terms with Thor, in case they might need him down the road.

How does that sound?

@set2fall- That it is, with IM2 just around the corner and Thor beginning to shoot in January, the Marvel movie universe is getting hyped to hell!!!!
Ryden - 12/1/2009, 3:07 PM
MULTI: Yeah, sounds ok. Though I dont think Thor would need to reach a stalemate with Barton - its not really in question who would win that fight! I love Hawkeye but it'd be over in a second if he faced off with Thor, lol!
JoshW - 12/1/2009, 3:30 PM
@multi Follow your line of thought, but when Barton confronts Thor, with a gun, thats when Thor is retreived to Asgard. There Thor does his fight thing and Barton assists in protecting the realm, using a bow since his gun went missing/or was damaged. Once everything is over Thor thanks Barton and asks if there is something he can do to repay him and his heroic acts in helping to protect the realm. Barton says, "Yeah, come meet my boss on Earth." They meet up with Thor and Fury askks, "How would you like to be a part of a team who would also protect this realm?"
NemesisNemonus - 12/1/2009, 4:32 PM
Maybe in the end hawkeye could shoot an arrow past Thor's face, the arrow hits something and a screen like Iron Man's computer pops up with Fury on it inviting Thor into the iniative.

Thor could look back after seeing the arrow fly past him and see and purple figure carrying a bow fleeing the scene before going after the person he hears the message and turns around to listen to it.

Then we could see Hawkeye riding away on his motorcycle telling Fury(using an earpiece or what not) that Thor got the message.

Think about it. Were we expecting Fury's appearances after the credits in Iron Man?...No. In fact, I didn't think anyone was expecting anything in relation to SHEILD, Avengers or any other superhero in the first Iron Man, yet we seen eye patch wearing, Bald headed Samuel L Jackson. I know its gonna be gay, but I think it'll be another wait and see moment. Unless someone spills the beans (Which they won't) then were not gonna hear of a cameo or secret ending untill the actual day IM2 or Thor comes out.

In my opinion, Captain America will appear or be referenced in IM2, and we already know Furys in it. As for Thor, I believe Hawkeye may soften the border of the hole "technology" & "Mystic scorcery" stuff, so that in IM3 or Avengers, Iron Man and Thor can meet swimmingly. Fin!
